  1. There are several body parts that I would gladly give up for us to win this match!
  2. It's called freedom of expression. You don't have to agree with it to support its right to be expressed. The only issue with any expression's legality is whether or not it infringes on other people's rights. So if the vast majority of people see it and use it as a way to incite violence or to take away other people's rights, as is the case with the swastika, then you can make the argument that it should be illegal. That is clearly not the case here since the vast majority who use that monochrome flag use it peacefully as their right for freedom of belief. Absolutely no idea what you are talking about with the rest of that sentence, though.
  3. That's just media getting clicks. The full story is that ISIS's flag is not actually ISIS's. Meaning they didn't actually invent it. It's an ancient monochrome islamic symbol that is used by all muslims. Actually, here, let the independent themselves debunk their own article: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/isis-flag-what-do-the-words-mean-and-what-are-its-origins-10369601.html So yeah, ISIS's flag is not offensive because it doesn't belong to them. Also, 'cucked' is not a word, let alone a political criticism.
  4. I'll punch in the face anyone who says he didn't mean that backheel! Absolutely world-class assist.
  5. Didn't have much to deal with yesterday, but it was good to see him having a solid game with no mistakes (high bar, I know). But I was watching the post match analysis on Sky and it really made me laugh when they were discussing our CB options. There was no mention of any of Gary's horrendous recent mistakes, instead they actually said that Luiz's return has made him look 'nervous'!!
  6. Just saw the match, and although Kante was undoubtedly the MOTM for me, I thought Luiz wasn't far behind. In general since coming back he's been consistently one of our best players despite the inconsistency in the team's performances.
  7. Just stumbled across the league table....despite all that has been talked about regarding a crisis and sacking Conte and all that, we're just 3 points off the top of the table! I get we haven't had the toughest starting fixtures, but points are counted exactly the same against any opposition. For me, win against united next week and it's fantastic start to the campaign.
  8. Obviously the best performance of the season since it was the first I had to miss! Any ideas when downloads of the full match will be available?
  9. I don't know how betting works and I've never put a bet in my life, but I know that this is a ploy so that someone with power somewhere would make a lot of money...
  10. Thoughts with him and his family today. Was so gutted to read the news. Can't even begin to understand what he must be going through at the moment. May she rest in peace
  11. But will we stick to this system? We've only played it for a match and a half till now. I think it's a real issue that we've changed from 4-4-2, to 4-1-4-1 and now to 3-4-3 and it's still just October! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see us move away from 4-1-4-1 which imo has very glaring weaknesses, but each of those formations have completely different requirements. We need some tactical stability and for the players to start getting familiar with their roles or we won't get the best out of any formation.
  12. That does raise an interesting question about what 'peace' means, or rather for whom. I remember a great talk by Chomsky about what it means when states talk about 'security' and that it is usually security for the ruling class and their business buddies. In the case of Peres, his most notable achievements are pioneering the Israeli nuclear program, bloodily suppressing the second Intifada and launching a war on Lebanon. That by no rational interpretation makes the average Israeli citizen more secure or at peace. On the contrary that only encourages more resistance and more violence. By far the best any Israeli government can do to enhance the security and peace of its citizens is to eliminate the cause of the violence by ending the occupation.
  13. No, I think he came to power a few years afterwards. He was, however, the prime minister during the (first) Qana massacre in 1996. The IDF intentionally shelled a UN camp where they knew hundreds of refugees where hiding killing more than 100 civilians. That was during the 'Grapes of Wrath' operation when Peres basically launched an attack on south Lebanon (half of which Israel still occupied at the time) right before the Israeli elections so he would look 'tough' and get re-elected. He lost that election and 3 Israeli soldiers,14 Hezbollah fighters and about 170 Lebanese civilians lost their lives.
  14. Never thought about it, but this just can't score and ugly goal, can he?
  15. There's A LOT in there. Yeah, it started out with well known (if selective) facts but then just evolved into baseless conspiracy theory. In reality, the aid convoy was most likely hit by the Russians just like the attack on the Syrian Army base by the US air force coinciding with an ISIS attack was most likely intentional. It was part of the 'negotiations' between the two countries and yes the negotiations failed because of these attacks but the main issue of dispute was about Aleppo about which they could not agree. A few quick points as well: -US policies in Syria are no where near as coherent as being made out in the video. Different US agencies have different goals and strategies which can often be contradictory. - The US does not support a Kurdish state. They have always been against it. That is why they let Turkey start bombing the very same cities they helped the Kurdish forces take from ISIS days before. - No, eastern Aleppo is not controller by Al Qaeda. Officially all Syrian opposition groups have no ties to Al Qaeda, including Al Nusra who re-branded into Ahrar Al Sham. But at this point most opposition groups share Al Qaeda's ideology and religious zealous. There are some differences but all opposition forces (unless you count the SDF as opposition forces) are Islamists now. - The US is not seeking to arm Al Qaeda or similar groups. They don't mind arming and funding them but they don't prefer them either. The Islamist nature of the opposition forces now is not due to conscious US decisions. If anyone made a conscious decision to go in this direction it was the US allies in the region in Turkey, KSA and Qatar. Of course there are lots of other factors in there as well. -The white helmets do include fighters and men from Al Qaeda-like groups and they are being used as a PR stunt and yes they are not impartial and were started by USAID in their efforts for regime change in Syria. BUT it is undeniable that they do a much needed job of pulling people, mostly civilians, from under the rubble after airstrikes and yes they have saved the lives of thousands of innocents. One does not negate the other. But regarding Aleppo right now, none of that matters. What matters is that there are at least 30000 civilians trapped inside a diminishing small area being bombed 24/7 by the Russian and Syrian air forces with no where to escape to. THAT should be everyone's primary concern in Syria right now. I know that all of that probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again very little about Syria does.
  16. Yeah, he's never even played outside of England.
  17. Sensational goal. Reminded me of Hazard's against United in the epic 2-2 draw in the FA cup in 2013. He's exceptionally good at that little movement of the ball just before he takes the shot.
  18. I'm one of his biggest critics, but I'll be the first to admit that the main reason we're still close to the top this season is his 'bullying' of smaller teams. Absolutely indispensable for us at the moment.
  19. Was very good AGAIN yesterday. This is what taking your chances looks like. Very happy for Vic. Shame about that hamstring, though. Hope he's fit after the break because he deserves to be in that XI against Leicester.
  20. Yup, you get the feeling that he definitely voted 'Yes' for Brexit
  21. Actually had a 'debate' with him about it and he went on to explain that they can be fans just not supporters who can only be from England and that only the opinions of supporters matter. Also, he 'debates' like an eight year old.
  22. Much needed 3 points. The fact that we grew into the system as the match went on fills me with hope. Just need for the attacking players to build better chemistry with each other so we can create more chances. Kante my motm, Costa a close second and Moses very good again. Happy days Also, clean sheet!
