  1. Depends on CSKA: -If CSKA win, City have to win or get a scoring draw to finish 3rd. -If CSKA draw, they'd have to draw with any scoreline to get third (Roma would be second, and CSKA 4th). -If CSKA lose, City would finish third ONLY if they draw 0-0 with Roma. Personally, I'd like them to go through because the EL is played at a completely different intensity than the CL which is obviously a lot more consuming. They are not a threat to us in the CL, imo.
  2. The City group calculations give me a serious headache. The rules are, if two teams have the same points, you refer to the H2H matches between them unless the H2H is exactly the same then you go for the general GD. But if 3 teams are tied with the same points, you refer to the GD in the matches played between the three teams only. Now, all of City, Roma and CSKA have 5 points, that means: - If Roma get a win, they go through regardless of the other result. - If City win in Rome, they go through unless CSKA beat Bayern in which case the Russians go through because of the H2H with City. - Similarly, if CSKA win they go through unless Roma win and qualify on H2H. - Now, if City get a 2-2 or higher score draw they qualify on away goals in the H2H against Roma as long as Bayern beat CSKA; in this scenario, if CSKA get a draw against Bayern, all three teams would be on 6 points and they send Roma through as the team with the best GD in the matches between them. If CSKA win, they go through on points. - If City get a 1-1 draw, they go through on general GD as long as Bayern beat CSKA. Again, if CSKA get a draw against Bayern in this case, all three teams would be on 6 points and they send Roma through as the team with the best GD in the matches between them. If CSKA win, they go through on points. Pretty simple, eh?
  3. Damn, Iva, that would've been goal of the season!
  4. His head completely shot-circuited on that goal!
  5. I think it's FOI: "Fairly Obvious Information" because I could honestly tell from the tone of your previous post before you even said it
  6. Schalke: Fahrmann, Neustadter, Santana, Howedes, Uchida, Fuchs, Kirchhoff, Boateng, Hoger, Choupo-Moting, Huntelaar. Rule of thumb: Rob Beasley is most likely wrong in anything he says
  7. Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Filipe Luis, Fabregas, Matic, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, Costa.
  8. Seriously, how in the world is that guy a pundit? I watched him 'analyzing' Liverpool and I think I know less now than before I watched! My bet is that Gary's mother told him that he's not allowed to go do punditry unless he takes his brother with him...
  9. More from her and less from that deluded idiot, please.
  10. Apparently they are. Dunno why I thought Brown was 19, he's very mature for his age! On Boga, yeah, that is indeed a worry. And I think it has to do with his style of playing a bit as well. He likes to take on players and go where the tackles are flying in. Not everyone has the ability of the likes of Hazard and Ronaldo to take heavy tackles and then get right back up.
  11. Anyone's got a stream for the U19s match? It just started.
  12. Well, he's younger than the likes of Baker and Brown , so I guess he is being protected.
  13. Isn't club trained as well? That would also help in the CL.
  14. That would've really pissed off the scousers!
  15. Well, Europe obviously wasn't an option at the time with the ban, do you think he could have actually won us a title?
  16. That was brilliant work by Ryan there.
  17. I honestly didn't know of him before this news broke out. I had obviously heard and read about us almost getting relegated to the third division in the early eighties, but I didn't know the name of the manager who was the main reason why that catastrophe was avoided. Now that I've read about what he's done for the club and about how brilliant he was as a person, I feel very sad but very grateful to him. I hope the club are planning to do something to honor him. None of us would be here if it weren't for him. RIP Mr. Neal.
  18. The Hull City game popped in my mind while writing that post, the two matches are very similar in more than one aspect, but I have to call that a close second for two reasons. First, Hull were poor in that game, especially in midfield, and second the intensity on Saturday was just on a completely different level. There's also the first half against Bolton under AVB where we literally passed them completely off the park and Luiz's runs from central defense completely destroyed them. But still, the movement in the attack, something we've been suffering from for ages, was nothing like yesterday.
  19. Surely the first criteria to be considered should be personal footballing ability, and in that category Neuer is well ahead all the other candidates.
  20. Not saying he wasn't good, just not better than JT, not even close for me. Wasn't even the best CB in his own team as Vidic was by far the better player, imo.
