Umm how do you know hiddink was offered DoF role? Announced as Managers but their roles were not that of a manager but more of a head coach since they had a DoF on top of them who did perform activities that a manager would generally perform like doing the transfers and getting the players they want. AVB is a manager in the literal sense. He himself is taking the big decisions on who he wants and who he does not want. He even asked the Vitesse game be cancelled. When was the last time you had a "Manager" at our club with such powers -

Well he also asked the board to cancel the vitesse game on 9th of July asking for more time to prepare. At the moment there is NO DoF and AVB is calling the shots left right and centre and we don't seem to be in the market for DoF even Hiddink wasn't offered the DoF role which makes me wanna believe the articles as this has never happened besides in the last 5 seasons -

Because this is what I read in one of the articles. Look at what AVB is doing with the backroom staff. He is bringing his own men and is playing a key role in transfers. Also there has been no indication whatsoever that we r looking for a DoF. I read that AVB personally called Sanchez with an offer to join us. He will let go of some oldies once our training begins. He will also bring in new faces. It has widely been reported that AVB has been hired as Manager as opposed to Head Coach like incase of CA or Grant or Scolari or even Mourinho during his last season -
Just get Arda Turan or Sanchez. We need a Left Winger with a Right Foot....We already have a Left Winger with a Left Foot in the form of Zirkov. On Right....We MUST play Sturridge who is a left footed player on Right Wing with Kalou as a back up.

Also couldn't resist myself but how on earth does one call ibrahimovic shit when he has scored loads of goals in holland, Italy and Spain. Striker is judged and valued on the goals he scored. He may not be a big game player but top top striker
-
So why do you want Kalou to score late winners and all that at anfield, old trafford and emirates while we have several other top players in the team who could do it? Kalou is a winger striker and has the best goals per minute ratio in the league and has rescued the team on numerous occasions. He does miss out on sitters but he scores crucial goals and comes up with assists at crucial times in matches. Note the winner at OT by Drogba was assisted by Kalou
-
I'm sure Joe Cole misses us more than we miss him. His career has plummeted ever since he left us for the best english club for 5k a week more. I miss Ballack. What a fantastic professional, leader and fighter. Had it not been for JT and Ovrebo he would have had 2 Champions Leagues in his bag but sadly for him he will always be called the nearly man. I wish him all the best and was missed the most last season. He could have been the difference for us in the league
-
Going by your post I can confidently say you like gerrard more than lampard. Because the qualities you are looking for in Kalou are in Gerrard. Like you ignore Kalous stats I'm sure you would ignore Lamparda stats. if you don't then you are being biased. Coming back to Kalou, you should know that he has scored winners and equalizer at wigan away, man utd at home, everton away, Newcastle away, winner against Spurs at home which was very crucial, etc. He is for me the best supersub in the league. I'd take him over Nani and Kuyt or Ngog. Has the best goals per minute ratio in the league.

Would like to see that Clock Read: Days: 9125 Hours: 23 Minutes:54 Seconds:01 Lord Andre Villas Boas is here to stay The best thing is Roman has him as a Manager and not a Head Coach. There is no DoF on top of him. AVB is playing an active role in transfers. -
Not sure what are people banging on about emanelo. He is an opposition scout and was temporarily assigned as asst. Manager for namesake. With AVB he has his own staff. Will be interesting to see if we bring in a genuine asst manager.

Don't you know.... Thats the IN thing these days?

Irony is that Sounesa picked on him for not being a player while he himself was shit for Liverpool and Benefica As a manager inspite of being a player. Souness then picks on him by saying Portuguese league is very easy and winning league is no big achievement forgetting the fact that he won Fuck all at Benefica and was fired in two seasons.

If we are going by one season, then we should add Lampard and Essien to that list as well. -

Now all we need is to buy Arda Turan (unlikely) or Neymar and a creative midfielder and sell, Ferriera, Malouda, Anelka, Zirkov, and Drogba if he wants to leave. Manager: Andre Villas Boas GK: Cech, Turnbull, Hilario CB: Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, Luiz RB: Bosingwa LB: A.Cole, Bertand MF: Ramirez, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Modric, McEchran, Benayoun FW: Torres, Sturridge, Kalou, Neymar, Lukaku -

Those of you who don't know, it was AVB who almost got involved in a brawl with Rijkaard during the height of our rivalry with Barca. Apparently it was AVB who noticed Rijkaard approaching Frisk and told Jose about it We are sure to see some fireworks from this guy -

It pretty lopsided with your RCF playing close to the centre and LCF hugging the touchline while bothe the fullbacks bombing forward. I just hope He has a plan B and C up his sleeves. -

Make that 3. I aint gonna jizz my pants just yet. When Mou joined it was thought to be a new revolution and that Chelsea by next decade will be the biggest club and will paint the world blue and will be the biggest brand, etc etc. What happened? Mou got fired, we hired and fired 4 managers in 5 seasons after that. Won only 3 titles while Manchester united won 4 and a champions league. Untill Roman and his chums learn from their mistakes I don't see a new revolution. If the board keeps interfering after every successful season like they have in past then it will be more of the same. Our squad under mourinho was built to dominate the next decade and it all went tits up when we fired the best manager on the planet. -
When the reports say he is buying out his own contract it means Chelsea is paying him the money to buy it out. It does not mean he is goig to pay 13m from his own pocket. Anyways it is too early to predict that he will be in this for 12 yrs. He said he wants to be at Porto for many seasons. These r just statements nothing concrete. Although I wouldn't mind him managing us for 12 yrs if he can win us 4 champions leagues and 9 titles and 6 FA cups and 7 carling cups. That should satisfy me
-
Just saw his interview and he is well spoken. He comes across very level headed and mentioned he is still intouch with players and staff at chelsea and praised Chelsea. He also mentioned that obviously Chelsea has obsession with Champions League, which means he knows what he is getting into. What a coup this would be if he wins us the Champions League.
-
That precisely us the problem. You need a manager that the player should fear like Mou and Guus. Carlo was more like a friend. When your subordinates start thinking of you as a friend then there is complacency and it affects the efficiency of the team. That is one of the problem I see with the signing. The other is players like Drogba, Terry, lampard, Cole, cech will still see him as Mourinho's post man and not take him seriously as a Manager. Terry, Drogba, anelka, Torres are the ones I fear who have the player power in the team.
-
Mou once mentioned AVB to be his eyes and ears. We got mourinhos eyes and ears now. Woohoo Would be fascinating to see master vs the apprentice if we get pitted against Real Madrid in Champions League
-
He could be our own alex fergusson. Coaching us for next 35 years in the process winning 25 league titles and 7 Champions Leagues. Cus he is only 33.

How does it matter? Players r on vacation and we r in off season
