  1. Oh, great. He's going to be even more unbearable than usual today. Happy birthday! Try and act a little more mature now, eh?
  2. No, that doesn't make sense. Because he was playing consistently before being dropped suddenly. It's understandable that he's not playing when Mikel is fit, but even when Mikel was injured, Romeu was nowhere to be seen. Something definitely going on behind the scenes. Either some ridiculous injury or what incometax posted.
  3. Absolutely not. We should try to go as far as we can go. Getting to the semis means additional revenue earned and no way should we give that up. And who the hell knows, we might get an Ovrebo-type incompetent referee who'll gift us silly penalties and we might just sneak into the final just kidding. As Steve said we are capable of beating them, with the right tactics, preparation, work ethic, and obviously a hell of a lot of luck.
  4. Absolutely. It's utterly disgraceful for anyone to blame AVB for Torres' own pathetic displays. If Torres truly believes that, he should take a good look at himself in the mirror.
  5. David Luiz ‏ @DavidLuiz_4 I cut my hair today!
  6. I really don't think that it was a simple case of AVB not believing in him. If you think about how much pressure Andre was under, especially after the turn of the year, and when it was obvious that the senior players did not approve of him, them possibly doing things to undermine him, etc etc, imo he just did not have time to personally man-manage Torres. People easily forget that Andre showed complete faith in Torres at the start of the season. The first game of the season at Stoke - everyone thought Drogba would start. It would have been the easier option. But Andre made a clear statement that Torres was his man, that he would be the no.1 striker. And he played well in that game. Andre obviously did a lot of motivating before that game. I believe he started every single game until Swansea Then the pressure began to mount on AVB and Torres really did not help himself either, with the sending off against Swansea and some truly pathetic displays. RDM's job is simple. The majority of players are more relaxed now that Andre is gone and they are happy. He doesn't have to worry about them. He can focus on Torres. It's easy to blame AVB for every single thing that was wrong, but he was inexperienced and the pressure got to him. He couldn't handle it all at once.
  7. He did not say that. He only used that comparison to talk about the enormous pressure on a striker when he doesn't score and live up to expectations
  8. ohh! I just discovered that you can turn it off Click on the "prefs" icon
  9. The shoutbox is really slowing the site down for me. I know you can minimize it, and I've done that, but it's still loads together with every page and causes the page to load a few inches below the first new post Is there any way to turn it off in the settings page itself, so it doesn't have to be there at all?
  10. JT will get a long ban at the beginning of next season too. I think we need a RB rather than a CB. So that if Ivanovic has to play at CB, we don't have to rely on Bosingwa
  11. yeah they're accurate I guess but it's not user-friendly at all. Their site is very slow for me (no idea why) and I don't like the way they have arranged their stats. Guess I'm being picky lol.
  12. Anyone know a good site to get accurate stats? The FA site is useless lol. Would be nice to have one which had all of the important stats lined up next to each other. I used to visit one years back but have forgotten which site that was
  13. Shouldn't be too bad, but if it's a niggling injury and he isn't 100% then we shouldn't play him. Keep him on the bench in case JT/Cahill need replacement during the game.
  14. Good price = 20 million at least Brana is a beast and it'll be very hard to replace him. Not only his footballing ability but his determination, his English-type grit, no-nonsense approach and so on. Has saved us on countless occasions with his goals, too. What a legend!
  15. TBH that's what he was doing until these last few months imo. His work-rate and contribution has improved this year, but in 2011 his performances were pretty dire. Anyway I agree, I don't know how on earth he was supposed to score those 2 "clear-cut chances". The defender was right there to make the block. Clear-cut chances that he's missed are the likes of the Utd open goal, against Blackburn in the last minute, away at Wigan (?) where he had an open goal and he scuffed the shot wide in the 2nd half etc etc. The ones yesterday he didn't score because of misfortune, but at least he was in the right place at the right time to affect the outcome.
  16. Is he out of contract this summer? I don't mind him staying as long as he takes (or perhaps he's already taken) a massive wage cut
  17. He's not shying away from chances either. He's actually making runs INTO the box and going for difficult headers. Previously he just kept coming out of the box to receive a ball and then pass it on, because he was so afraid of having a go.
  18. Agree, all it takes is a couple of draws! But I can see Spurs slipping up, however I really cannot see us beating both Arsenal & Liverpool
  19. He's finding some passion in football again. Good to see. Keep it up Fernando!
