The contract thing is probably just so that we can make some $$$ when we sell him. He's the only one of Anelkalouda + Drogba that has any decent resale value
"The amount of times he has used the media to beg the club is embarrassing" Yes! I have been thinking this for so, so long. The fact that he has still not been offered anything is hopefully a sign that the club don't intend to give him a new contract.
He already has 4 goals in 4 starts (in the prem). Well on course to get at least 15 goals this season. Team performance wise he's getting better as well. If Torres can continue his form, the front three of Mata - Torres - Sturridge will be deadly.
So thankful that we got him. Liverpool were interested in him for a long long time. If Fat Spanish Waiter was still their manager, they probably would've signed him. And Arsene - LOL! He's so unselfish as well - always making himself available for the team. A couple of times yesterday I wanted him to continue running and shoot after getting the ball but he chose to pass it and it was always the right call. Wonderful player.
I think on paper you can see why he might have been considered a "talent". I don't know how he was playing in Holland but no one could have known how shite he would turn out. And actually for his first 3 or so seasons, he wasn't that bad - he was just average. It's only last season I think that he started becoming truly awful. Sigh. I don't know how on earth he has managed to stay at Chelsea when 6 managers have come and gone
Those of you that watch Breaking Bad, how did you find Season 4? Thought it was awesome, especially the last 5-6 episodes. The writing this season hasn't been the same as previous seasons, but they still know how to make a fucking great episode.
Does anyone else think we should have taken essien off? I remember he was absolutely knackered towards the end and was struggling. And for the goal he failed to close them down / make some kind of tackle. I will admit that I don't remember the game very well. Haven't seen anything at all after watching the live telecast - not even highlights. Can't bear to see it again. I was absolutely heartbroken when that shot went in. And I can't analyze things during first watch but I remember thinking during the game that maybe we should have taken him off and brought on fresh legs. Who was on the bench that night and what subs did we make?
OT but since it was brought up - I think the stuff that's been in the press today about what LFC have said would be a bad idea. Good for us, bad for the prem. Can see the BPL becoming a La Liga copy in 10-15 years if it happens. The gap between the top 5-6 and the rest will be huge. I hate la liga and wouldn't want something like that happening to the prem
