Perpetuating such a farcical notion or being "black" or "white" promotes the unconscious racism and such, Ferdinand is just ignorant. As people like Bill Cosby have always argued, the notion of "being black" or "white" is a very dangerous term entailing potentially devastating affects. Signithia Fordham's "School Success: Coping with the "Burden of 'Acting White" is testament to this. The John Amaechi quote eloquently sums it up: "It is the idea that a black person is black only in skin colour but inside they are really white. It's a highly derogatory term.
