Our best CM pair? Hard to say really, because we havent really tested much yet. One thing I can say though, is that by playing Ramires+Lampard we lose alot of what Ramires should be doing. I belive Ramires+Essien could work really well. I can also see Ramires+MvG being favourable in a near future.

Why? The answer is simple. Oscar was really poor offensively. I agree, he did do a very good job; defensively. But he is far from being a natural #10 (at least in Chelsea from what Ive seen) and Mata IS that. I think some of you guys here are forgetting what Mata has done here at Chelsea the last season. You are buying into what the media says, what others at the forum say and what you've made up in your mind.

This game convinced me he has to be tested as DM. He was really good defensively and also somewhat good when we got the ball and went forward but just pure offensively as #10 he was (and has been for the past games) not good at all. Perhaps since Ramires wont be starting the first CL game we can see smth like: Oscar - Essien Willian - Mata - Hazard

I love this game but this was absolutley the wrong game for him. I cannot belive Im saying this, but its the truth: subbing Torres for Lukaku was a mistake looking at the game picture. We had one goal up and were defending deep. Torres actually does that quite well, so i dont see why we put Lukaku. For me it was the wrong time to get him on. Tough for him to miss that penalty, it was a really poor shot but im glad Jose showed him that trust. He'll come back stronger!

Big performance by every player. It sucks to lose like that but Im not too upset. One thing though, even though I love him, subbing Lukaku was a huge error by Mourinho and I think he will realize it later on. The way the game played out, Torres should have actually stayed on. We were defending deep and Lukaku is not the right type of player for that. However, Im glad Jose trusted Lukaku to take a penalty however it was a very poor shot by Lukaku. Sometimes I forget how young he is. This most certainly wasnt the game for him. But he'll come back strong. KTBFFH

We tried to sign De Rossi didnt we? We tried to sign Rooney didnt we? everything cannot go our way. And we are actually quite fine regarding DM's at the moment. Essien ,Ramires, MvG still strong and I have much faith in them. Eto is also a great addition to the team. Combine him with Lukaku and (it hurts to say) Torres and we actually look quite decent. I think you are overreacting.

First of all, read what I wrote again. I said Schurrle was shit as CF, not that he is shit. That is referring to that game. The fact that you want to start Schurrle up front when we got Lukaku on the bench is just mind-blowing. Can you tell me one thing that Schurrle did effectively? In that game we won like 1/10 air duels from Cech's goal kicks for instance. Lukaku offers something we havent had in a while. Anyway, I acually think Torres will start this and that Jose will use Lukaku as sub.

Thing with Ramires is, he shouldnt play alongside Lampard. That basically stops his game, he doesnt/cant go forward as much then. Essien+Lampard Essien+Ramires Ramires+MvG etc...

I dont understand what some people here are discussing. What are you claiming? Statistics to show what, that Torres isnt as bad as some people think? Might be true, he is MUCH WORSE. Some people have told me Im a jerk for calling Torres a cunt and whatnot, and that I should support him because he's a Chelsea player. My answer is: No player is greater than the club itself. I consider Torres a cancer that needs to be removed. He is damaging our club. He was a huge part in Sturridge leaving, he's also a reason Lukaku wont get as much playtime as he should. He makes fans feel frustrated and he keeps us from winning more than we should. So, I will NOT support him just because he's a Chelsea player when clearly he is BAD for the club. I do have to say, seing Torres coming on against United and not Lukaku made me feel both angry and upset. There is NOTHING that Torres adds that Schurrle for instances doesnt. Lukaku however, does.
