Have doubts about Fofana, but if getting him means avoiding Maguire., do it.
-
He's even worse off the ball IMo. A CB that lacks any sort of awareness of what's going on around him. Let's players slip past him to result in his fellow CBs being pulled out of position. That's not the sort of stuff you can coach. That being said, they don't call Daily mail the daily manc for nothing. Someone at Chelsea must have entertained the idea. Just hope other people at the club, with better judgement, dismiss it eventually.

Hope Barca hold onto their demands and we get priced out of a move. No need to spend silly money on Auba.
-
You say stop-gaps, but our so called stop gaps seem to demand a lot of playing time, disrupt our playing style and create a toxic dressing room. This is like Lukaku all over. We want chances to be finished while forgetting how those chances are made

A 30 yr old Aubameyang, I could see some sense in getting. But at 33 years of age, he's going to be far less effective in this league. He won't have the pressing energy of Werner/Havertz. And is he okay with being a squad option? Would be just better to ask for a loan move, instead of a full fledged transfer. Are we really going to stick with him past this season?
-
Yes, second fiddle. Fair enough, in 08-09 he won the lowest scoring golden boot competition and helped us out when Drogba was unavailable. But when we returned to trophy winning form in the next season, Anelka was pushed out into the right wing., so that Drogba could play in the center and take on goalscoring burden. I'm not dismissing Anelkas efforts. I'm just saying that he wasn't the main man because we had superior goal scoring players in the squad. He instead took on an unselfish role to help setup the teams attack. Aubameyang is coming here with the expectation of taking on most of our goal scoring burden.
-
Anelka worked for us because he was a very intelligent player. He also set his ego aside and played second fiddle to an in-form Drogba, especially in 09-10 when we won the league. No problems if Aubameyang is here just to fill the squad. But is Tuchel really bringing him here just to be an option on the bench?
-
No doubt a Tuchel decision. For better or worse, this is the effect of giving the coach full control of transfers. Personally not a fan of coaches trying to rejuvenate their former players. It didn't work with Benitez and Torres, nor with Saari and Higuain. And to add to that, theres a depressing list of washed up strikers we signed, including Pato and Falcao. Granted Aubameyang is not as extreme a case. But after seeing Lukaku fail at United, and then subsequently fail with us, you would think we would learn a thing or two., after noting Aubameyangs final season with Arsenal.

I dont think Sterling has been bad by any stretch, but I don't want him wasted in only a false 9 role. In the Tottenham game, their CBs (Dier in particular) were on his heels the whole time. I'm hoping we can sign another attacker that can free him up some more, so that he can have a bigger impact. He might be a better finisher than most of our previous attackers, but by no means the most clinical. He's been known to miss before (as evidenced in his prevjous teams).

If Tuchel is feeling adventurous in the next game (which I feel he should), he will continue with RLC at RWB with Gallagher in the middle. Fully expect him to bring back Azpi at RCB, with RLC in rhe middle.
-
Also, no retrospective action on Romero it seems, based on the reports. Anthony Taylor will also NOT be barred from officiating Chelsea fixtures. No doubt they will assign him to our next big fixture. Lingering like a bad smell.

Screwed by a striker named Immobile. Couldn't make that one up, lol.
-
Carragher was very gleeful when we drew and Tuchel/Conte had a fight. Wonder what he thinks of the Nunez headbutt. Is that what he loves about the league? Lmao.
-
I hope there is one more surprise transfer out of nowhere and it happens to be one of the 3 in this list.
-
Mike Dean retiring to become the VAR chief is much worse than him staying on the pitch.
-
Credit where its due. Imperious performance at RWB, and just as good after being shifted to CM. He could circumvent the need for getting additional RB cover. Played against Madrid too, I think in RWB? The only thing left is trying him out as a false 9 like Conte once did.
-
Yeah that is a bit odd. We wore it last season, but not this one? Usually it's the other way around. Someone in Nike or Chelsea screwed that up.
-
With the tension between Neymar and Mbappe, should we take a chance on the former? Definitely a more appealing option than Aubameyang or Ronaldo. Wages are a whole other matter though
-
He's not the first opposition player I've seen get up in the face of James like that. Can't remember which other team did that though. Just love how James coolly shrugs it off like nothing. He did the same last time too.
-
Gallagher/Loftus Cheek likely to start in CM. Probably the latter, with Azpi returning to CB position and James moving out wide. Need to see more from Mount in terms of end product. I guess Tuchel might still continue with Havertz, but if he doesn't have any direct goal involvement in this game, he should consider giving an opportunity to Broja.
-
The key thing is to be good against the mediocre opposition too. Next game is key for me. Teams like Pool and Spurs may come up short in the big games, but their stat padding players like Son, Kane and Salah eat the smaller teams for breakfast. Wish we had at least one clinical finisher starting for us.
-
Would like to see more from Mount. Feel that he's just slightly taken his foot off the pedal after Sterling arrived, instead of being the main man when almost every attack went through him.
-
Also, I hope we carry this spirit and attitude into the next game. Too often in the past 2 years I've seen Chelsea really turn it up against a big team, only to look lackluster in the next game against average opposition.
-
Injustice aside, I hope Tuchel keeps it in check. The last thing we want is a cuntish FA banning him for matches because of a post match rant. Does the red card mean that he get's a touchline ban for the next game or 2?
-
Also, the past 2 games are making me wonder why we went for Sterling instead of Jesus. Don't get me wrong, he's a fine addition to the squad - but he's being wasted in a false 9 role. If we wanted a center forward who could link up play well and also score, why not go for the latter? Unless the plan is still to bring in a goal-scorer, I don't know.
