I said in an earlier post, that the chanting had little to do with Drogba..there were songs sung for him (albeit less loud) when he was playing... The last time I remember someone hurting (or at leas tried to) the players' ego was Scolari..I don't see how he motivated them any better than Carlo... The Alex-Anelka one.. -

Articles related to the "incident" came out nearly a week ago..those were bearable and were at least neutral..even the Sun did their bit back then, and now recently switched to articles about Drogba's contract... now they get all hot and bothered and churn this out..its hard to see this as plain co-incidence... -

I don't believe half of what was said in that article...It's probably bordering on the truth, and it looks to have twisted things to just to grab attention using things like the insider source,etc)... You may accept the facts in the article or not, but wouldn't you agree the timing of the publication is a little "convenient" ? -

I don't know how "close" he can get,but the man has been spewing nonsense about the team since the start of this season....his articles are almost always filled with negativity about the club -

Loooool!!!!!... That "article" is soooo hilarious...... Rob "BEASTLY" has a tradition of writing crap about Chelsea...He's obviously upset about last night's results in the CL...Heck the Sun even failed to put up match reports even more than 4 hours after the results came out!! This just shows how pathetic, desperate and slimy they are....fabricating an articles about negativity in the Chelsea dressing room...Just look at the timing!! As if Drogba will get fired up after a confrontation like that... -
I hope Stamford Bridge will one day have a real Drogba banner
-
Too STRONG a performance by one man really...
-
It was what I noticed in the Newcastle game as well...clean sheet, Drogba header, Kalou the impact sub...AVB showing he has few tricks to grind out needed results just like ol' Mourinho
-
He said he would be going, yes..
-
I think the new deal won't be discussed anytime soon to be honest, let alone the terms and conditions...The manager and (Drogba himself) will have to wait and see if he can perform consistently from here on out... I agree he will change his playing style to expend minimum energy, like in the Newcastle and Wolves games, but that doesn't make him less motivated or less committed to the cause IMO...
-
What happened after he signed a 2 yr deal in 2009? Drogba will try to do his best if he feels wanted...However, as age catches up with him, and his energy levels fall, he will need more support. Right now that support is Sturridge and more importantly Mata..The little man and the big man seem to combine very well... I knew back in Jan this year, that what the team really needed was a good support player for Drogba/Anelka rather than a new CF...I hope Torres continues to try hard with the limited chances he's going to get though,..
-
Nice to see Drogba acknowledge Anelka with his goal celebration...After he was subbed, he went straight to Lampard and hugged him.. Just like Mourinho said, Drogba genuinely cares for his team-mates and managers...

Drogba did well to put us in the lead,Cech and Terry did their best to make sure we held onto it, Kalou may or may not have been a waste of space over the years, but the way the manager and the players celebrated Kalou's goal will tell you all about the importance of that piece of contribution from him. -

From the article: "The absence of a specialist, trusted right-back means the line is split – Ashley Cole pushes up on the left, but the more defensive Branislav Ivanovic does not – and the team lacks balance." Hasn't the writer realized that it was after Ivanovic came in for Bosingwa that our defense actually started finding some balance, (without two full-backs bombing forward almost simultaneously)? Wish these armchair tacticians would at least pay more attention... -

Even if Sturridge only tucks in (which is false, as he does play on the wing as well) you'll have Mata on the other side who can move all over the place. I guess neither Romeu or Mikel really bomb forward, which is why the attack seems more fluid when Meireles takes on the holding role...If that analysis is right, then we're bound to succeed if Essien comes back fully fit and on form... -

Liked RZA, Peace, Warnie666 and francozola's posts past month... However. going with KieranVogel

I don't believe its as bad as people think it is...there was a section of players who decided to act against the coach because he was just too bad, (and for other reasons like dropping Anelka, etc.) and those that didn't want to revolt..I've never heard of the players turning against each other (certainly not from the side of Malouda/Anelka)...I suppose Peace can tell us more though.. Anyways, here's training before the Valencia game: Doesn't look too bad...only Kalou looks unhappy here, .. Edit: (That's the away match btw...thought it was before the upcoming match)
-
Yes there are groups within groups just like most multi-national/multi-lingual communities...but it doesn't mean there are gang wars going on within the club.. Malouda and Anelka have barely any say in the French squad..especially Anelka who has rarely played for France..There were reportedly disagreements with Ribery and the coach on playing with Gourcuff, but nothing more..
