If we did have someone, then you wouldn't see the team constantly passing the ball to Hazard and expecting him to conjure up something. I think Sarri sees Ampadu more as a 3rd choice backup for Jorginho. He has said it before. Theres even more evidence from his recent comments after Cahill got injured. He just said that Azpilicueta is our only available backup CB

I wont hold my breath waiting to see Ampadu making the starting line up. It has pretty much been 'good bye Ampadu' for the majority of this season

Really worried. Christensen and Luiz are like clowns when playing together with neither being good enough to command a back line on their own. Azpilicueta will not have much influence playing from right back We conceded 4 goals in the two matches Rudiger missed last time around

I cannot fathom what Sarri has against Giroud. Sarris best spell earlier on in the season came when Giroud played with Hazard. He has just relegated him to the Europa league games. He's driving him out, just like he successfully drove out Fabregas. The irony is that Drinkwater is still sticking around

( Doesn't our teal toothpaste 3'rd kit have similar background graphics? I would even argue that playing CHO in games, actually helps Willian and Pedro (especially in the case of Willian). Both Willian and Pedro are past their peak, so keeping them well rested between games helps a lot with their playing form.

I don't think this team plays for anyone in particular. Hazard and Kante play. The rest are filler.

Chelsea's biggest problem in the last 5 years.., and the real reason why we have declined from being an elite club to one struggling to stay in the top 5 is the loss of our quality defensive line. Regardless of the manager, or what kind of striker we have up front, our declining defense continues to cost us points and has steadily become worse over the past 5 years. This is why we can no longer 'grind' out results.., this is why we are no longer a consistent threat in the big games. Our back 4 is full of squad players at the moment. The one quality center back we had in Rudiger is now injured, and we have conceded 4 goals in two games since. More than striker (which is a glaring problem), I would fix our back 4 before anything.

The one reason for me to be angry at Conte. We struggled a lot to get a lethal striker like Costa after going through old Eto', injured Torres, Pato,etc.. And he just gets rid of him without giving much thought

We can compete, but definitely not tonight. One team played like a title chaser, and the other played like a team just trying to sneak into top 4. Our indifferent form following that City game last year led us to this. Chelsea, I thought played well, especially after getting rid of the false 9 formation..but a title chasing Chelsea and Hazard would have definitely buried those second half chances. Face it, everything was against us in this game, from the stupid commentators to the media to the crowd. The Salah goal was spectacular. We were part of some one else's narrative today, so let's just forget about this game and focus on the remaining PL and Europa games. I just hope Rudiger is back again soon.

Not sure why people are getting all worked up over this result. We shouldn't have been banking on this game against a title chasing team to get into top 4 in the first place. And frankly the result has not taught us anything new. If at all it just taught some fans that CHO is not going to be 'THE solution' for us in the future. At least, not immediately. Liverpool are superior at the moment. Yes false 9 was a gamble for this game, taking in-form Hazard out of his best position and that backfired, but that's something Sarri had to do accommodate both CHO and Willian, who in all fairness was superior to CHO in this game. I was already expecting this result. To me the league is still not done for us yet. As long as we don't throw away points till we get to the Old Trafford game we still have a chance. Then everything depends on that game. Hope they don't do something foolish and throw all eggs into the Europa league basket, which will boil down to the outcome of one game (the final) should we even make it there,
