  1. Its laughable that players are okay taking umpteen amounts of pain medication and injections to play through trauma, or risking their body in physical play. But one vaccine that could give at most half a day worth of chills? Oh no. That's going too far.
  2. I think it goes beyond football honestly. Even when it comes to tech entrepreneurs or artists . Think it should be a lesson to kids in general. Admire a person's achievements. Not worship the person itself. Especially someone you don't know personally.
  3. Kurt 'Happy' Zouma. Little too happy there.
  4. Not the first time I've heard that. Chelsea-Barcelona games at the Bridge are a testament to that. You could see how Barcelona dropped down levels when they were the visiting side. Maybe we just need attackers with more athleticism, like in the late 2000s.
  5. The timing of this Covid infection. No respite again this season. Hope Tuchel can at least take charge in time for the finals.
  6. It has some makings of a Klopp team. Wonder how Klopp would have used that front 3. I'm sure he would have turned Oscar into a pressing machine. Not sure how much he could have got from Hazard or Mata, though
  7. What ultimately let the trio down, was that neither Hazard nor Mata offered much in the defensive phase. If we had better central midfielders at the time (Kante) we could have got away with it. The best we had then was an aging Obi Mikel and Ramires (who was more of a no.8)
  8. Don't see the Arsenal game on there? Is that one of the rearranged fixtures??
  9. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like having both Drogba and Rudiger on the same team! Team would've had such a competitive edge to say the least.
  10. Having spent nearly a year here, has anyone figured out Tuchel's squad rotation strategy? He obviously has undroppables like Rudiger & Mendy. And if I have to guess, everyone else gets an extended run of games (if form is decent) for around a month or so, before they make way for someone else., after either being burned out from use or by just injury/poor form. Case in point: Alonso starting the first month or so of the campaign, before making way for Chillwell. Last month Pulisic. Now Mount & Ziyech. I'm assuming he's keeping Havertz & Werner fresh and charged up for the coming weeks (Feb and beyond). Would be interesting to see.
  11. We have nearly a whole squad that's injury prone. And then we add another injury prone player. Can't make this up.
  12. His gangly figure reminds me of Henry. Hope he's closer to Henry than Remy, lol
  13. Just typical of that shitty side to turn up when we're down. Need to put these in their place. No excuse. Given how easy we had it in the cup games.
  14. Hope Leicester can do us a solid tomorrow and knock them down a peg before we face them.
  15. Hehe...remember those days. There was the Drogba camp. And there was the Torres camp. I know which one I was part of. lol.
  16. Another young winger from the French Ligue., our most famous winger signing from there obviously being Hazard. There's paper talk about us signing him this year. Did not see a topic with his name and created this one. https://www.football.london/Chelsea-fc/transfer-news/hugo-ekitike-Chelsea-kylian-mbappe-22788803 Who is Hugo Ekitike? The teenage star linked to Chelsea who wants to emulate Kylian Mbappe Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Newcastle target Hugo Ekitike. The teenage star has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Ligue 1 with Reims, netting eight times in 17 league appearances so far this campaign - more than any other player under the age of 20 in Europe's top five leagues. Newcastle United have been strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman, but reports have since suggested that Chelsea have also made an approach. Foot Mercato, via HITC, claim that Chelsea have made contact with a view to signing Ekitike in a deal that could reach €40million (£33.4million). The 6ft 2ins striker has risen rapidly since his professional debut in 2020. He began his career at Cormontreuil FC before signing for Reims youth set-up in 2013. Ekitike is very much a player to keep an eye on in the future, and if he continues at the rate he's going, he'll have plenty more suitors soon enough. After coming through the academy at Reims, Ekitike made his debut with the club in a 3-1 loss to FC Lorient in October of 2020. In January of 2021, he was loaned out to Danish Superliga club Vejle Boldklub for the rest of the season, where he found the net three times in 11 appearances. But this season is where he's really started to have an impact.
  17. Manager meltdown in the middle of the season, which has been a trend for the past 7 years. Team loses interest because they aren't challenging for the league title. Standards drop and points along with it. Manager is at wit's end and starts overcomplicating things. We're well and truly in a rat race for fourth, if Spurs and Arsenal win their games in hand. The team that finished the game played so much better, and its not all down to the subs being fresh.
  18. He's like a big Belgian fat tire, bottling it against the big teams.
  19. Probably just like Morata/Lukaku in 2017 again., like others on here have alluded to. Manager wants a striker. Has a first choice preference. Club draws up a list. Club doesn't manage to secure the first choice, waves the second choice in front of the manager, manager accepts the compromise. All speculation, but that's what it feels like.
  20. Return to PL to be in a relegation threatened team would be rough. Hope he factors that into his decision making. I mean, Madrid can't force him to move to a club if he doesn't want to, right.? At least he here he would have a good support structure to compensate for deficiency.
  21. Judging from Tuchel's latest comments about how he doesn't want to change his system to suit Lukaku, wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back on the bench.
