For me, Marcos with all his faults he is quite an ok backup to have at LWB, better than Emerson for sure where the latters advantage is only his speed. I cant take anymore of those hoof balls forward to nobody. As bad as I feel for Azpi and his move to Barca, we simply cannot lose another senior defender without getting one in. Hopefully Azpi will be a professional about this and understand our situation. I think its better for us to hold off on the LWB, RWB position and focus first on getting another CB and an attacker, and then maybe explore the options we have near the end of the transfer season. We will also need to do proper research to find the most fitting player for those positions (RWB,LWB) as I think they will be here for a while and we do not need another Baba Rahman on our hands, this is also why we need to improve our scouting department.

If Matt Law's article is anything to go by, that Marina had complete control about players coming in and out then I cant really fault him for relieving her from her position. I agree though, he could have actually used Petrs experience and knowledge. Hopefully Boehly will learn from this and see how tough it is and hire the right person for the job. For this transfer season though, we have to do with what we have now and pray it wont hurt us too much in the future

Thats the thing, Boehly is new in the footballing world so he has to make those new contacts with agents, players etc. Not very ideal when the squad needs rebuilding, but you just have to deal with it the best you can.

Well if he's willing to lower his wage demands then its plausible.

Well better to really test out a back 4 in pre season than a real game. Lost the game in the first half where we were abysmal, second half a bit better but the players didnt seem to want to exert themselves too much. Arsenal also looked more prepared than we were. I believe if Broja was with the team, he would get more minutes than Michy. He and Colwill really have a chance of moving up the pecking order if they were actually available.

Well tbf we did go for other players before him even when we had person terms agreed with him... which could be something he keeps in mind, him not feeling wanted is warranted and could see why he would delay the move here. Lets be honest, he was also one of the last names here aswell. And now him being one of the last ones available is what makes us a little desperate to land him. Personally for me, I wouldnt really mind which way this goes. If push comes to shove then we can try for Pavard based on the fact that to me he is a low risk move, available for under £30M if I'm not wrong and searching for first team football.

The victim mentality is thick on this one... Lets be honest Barca is one of the biggest clubs in the world, a level we have not reached yet. They make so much more in revenue than we do and they also are a bigger brand than we are, thus giving them a better chance at generating even more money using their brand. It is not our fault nor is it other teams fault they are where they are now financially. That is the responsibility that falls solely on their board. Short term signings and huge wages are part of the problem. So instead of complaining about other teams financial muscle, maybe you should sort yourselves out. You are not some fckin relegation battle team, you are Barcelona its embarrassing!

Get Kounde in, then try and offload some deadwood sell/loan whilst scoping the market. Maybe there might be a sudden change in a players availability.
