So do we have any idea what deal we are doing with Brighton regarding Colwill? Because Brighton are known for their hardball negotiations.

The question is can KWP challenge Reece? We stated that we were looking for WBs that can challenge for the spot. I feel Cucurella can challenge Chilwell not sure about KWP with Reece albeit Reece is WC so its going to be hard. So if we're signing a backup then spend backup type money, if we're signing competition then we're going to have to spend more, we need to avoid spending "competition" type money on a backup. As to me there quite a big difference in quality between decent backup and competition.

With the amount of games we play, he will get plenty of gametime.. just not first choice. Although that could change since we are looking for someone that could challenge James for that spot and I feel he has previously shown he is up to it, we just need this season to see if he is still at that same level atleast after his injury.

Focus on Cucurela and Fofana, make do with what the options we have now RWB, buy Livramento next year for £38.

For me, I dont want us to force buy a RWB just for the sake of buying. If there isnt a good RWB available may aswell play RLC there, he is comfortable here and he is not looking to move. He does an ok job there, we have to remember that whoever we sign they will probably here for 3+ years. Next year most of the deadwood are out of contract, no need to be adding more to the list. Also remember that Livramento's buy back can be triggered next season.

If we are going to include Colwill, I hope that there is a buy back clause in a couple of years ala Livramento. Not that matching fee clause like Guehi.

Well I am happy that the club didnt go ahead with the Kounde deal if they had doubts. Yes we made a mistake of wasting our time chasing him but at least we realized our mistake and fixed it instead of making another mistake in signing him.

For me the chances of TT going for CR7 are low, based of the fact that when interviewed he has always emphesized on how the team have mutual respect for each other and work well together, no egos. So I would think CR7 would be at the bottom of the list.

I meant more for the outfield players. Wont be as important for keepers. We have hits and misses tbh... and its a shame that some of those misses cost us a lot of money.. its just one thing that should be taken into consideration in the future.

10 days till the start of the new season.

For me, Marcos with all his faults he is quite an ok backup to have at LWB, better than Emerson for sure where the latters advantage is only his speed. I cant take anymore of those hoof balls forward to nobody. As bad as I feel for Azpi and his move to Barca, we simply cannot lose another senior defender without getting one in. Hopefully Azpi will be a professional about this and understand our situation. I think its better for us to hold off on the LWB, RWB position and focus first on getting another CB and an attacker, and then maybe explore the options we have near the end of the transfer season. We will also need to do proper research to find the most fitting player for those positions (RWB,LWB) as I think they will be here for a while and we do not need another Baba Rahman on our hands, this is also why we need to improve our scouting department.
