IMO One user every week Users ask questions and the they can be answered as they see fit. The topic is stickies in general chat. When the week is up the topic is locked and unstickied. New topic is made. Users can PM to nominate themselves and I'll keep a list of who nominated themselves first and proceed accordingly. Rules Don't harass other members with inappropriate questions. Don't insult or troll members. Don't expect your question to be answered, it is up to the member to answer it or not. Be sensible and respect other users. This format has worked on other websites quite nicely. I'm 100% certain this is the best way to do this. And I'm willing to the be the organiser of the hotseat.

None of them have called me that, haha. I'm just wondering if they care about the fact that I'm white.

I know a Vietnamese girl. But I'm pretty sure she is second generation Australian given her accent and the speed she talks. I don't see her that often, she is more of a friend's friend. I know a Japanese girl. We get along quite well. She lived in New Zealand when she was quite young and now has lived in Australia for several years. And lastly a Chinese girl. I get mixed feelings about her sometimes, I'm quite fond of her and sometimes I feel she is quite fond of me, but sometimes I don't think so. Out of the three she has the most trouble with English and it's hilarious. She can hold a conversation but some of the things she says are ridiculous. I think she has lived here for 4 years.

I don't think she has ever had balut but she has mentioned her father was very fond of the stuff. Personally I'd rather starve than eat that. She and her sisters grew up entirely in Chicago, they don't speak Tagalog and only speak a little Spanish. They are very, very, very American. I often wonder what my East Asian friends think about me being a filthy white devil.

This is an injoke between my girlfriend and I. She is weird. She calls herself 'white washed' and she doesn't like Asian people because she says they are weird. I guess that's why she is weird... The biggest problem I have with talking to my East Asian friends is the humour. Jokes really get lost between language and culture. Everything else is fine but sometimes they don't always get what I just said was a joke.

I can imagine that the Engrish of Korea and Japan has nothing on China. It doesn't help that one of their most common characters can mistakenly translated as 'fuck'

Hehe, I'm sort of learning to tell the difference. It's really only because I have friends that are from East Asia and a girlfriend with Filipino heritage. I don't really know too much. I only listen to J-Pop or K-Pop when I feel like something different and funny. I can't understand a word but I'm always entertained when an English phrase is thrown in for no reason.
