  1. No i said the transition period is clear. The possible was the " / " between proving to roman and seeing what he had at his disposal..it was speculative
  2. So he should follow Joses mantra or be his own man? I prefer he does his own thing and sticks to his own methodology. I dont profess to be a manager of any sort but i dare say he knows more than any of us on here about how to manage his players
  3. i aint been high in months but anyway,Im not saying out of spite to prove a point! Im saying that AVB has had funds in the summer but has stuck with the majority of the squad POSSIBLY to show Roman that they are in desperate need of renewal but likely to see for himself what he has at his disposal, hence this is still a major step to transition. And if Roman realised that we needed to change things when he sacked Carlo then im afraid he was about 3 seasons behind the rest of us
  4. You make some excellent points and i can concur with a lot of what your saying. I myself would like to see our youth getting more of a chance(especially over players like Flo and Kalou) but i understand the pressure of management and i know why AVB has chosen the old guard...because its about winning, not individual games, obviously that contributes, but ultimately winning trophies and to loose with seasoned pros is less risky than losing by benching said pros and playing the kids. Our backroom staff have changed also with AVB bringing in his own backroom staff and Bobby Di deing brought back into the fold.
  5. Jose was the king of the siege mentality, them against us, us against the world...I dont recall him coming out and criticising too many individuals (joey aside )
  6. Wrong this was the season when AVB has clearly allowed the old guard to remain in order to see/show Roman that we need to move on and refresh the squad (Curtois,De Bruyne)
  7. Correct, Swanseas defence (in fact their whole team) were well oiled all night and were a major reason why we didnt waltz away with more than a draw
  8. What he does to the cameras and what he does to the players in the dressing room are 2 very different things
  9. Well answer me this, do you think there will be a major shake up in the summer? Do you think some of our under performers will be here next season? Do you think we will instead of bringing in over paid superstars of the game, will we instead seek to bring in the super stars of tomorrow for less money and on less pay? If like me the answer is yes then we will have sought and achieved transition. It doesnt happen overnight
  10. That and the FA Cup bruv but you are correct
  11. Ive no idea why he didnt start mate but we cant argue too much about the back line when the man who nearly all of us would have dropped to let Cahill in scored the goal that got us a point
  12. Some of us just dont like to boo the players and bash the team. This was always going to be a season of transition and ill tell you what ...next season could yet be the same. Some of us are content to see the club have a few seasons of transition as long as we come out the other end with a young, hungry side looking to win everything and not wrecking the wage bill. Talk is cheep and we are seeing that now from some on here now.
  13. Thats got nothing to do with Butch mate. For me Butch was the man who put the arm around the players if they needed it but that certainly did not determine results, just boosted moral slightly
  14. Because it has been much,MUCH worse before this and Zolayes could tell you more than me about this
  15. Do you genuinely believe bringing Butch back would shake this team up? Of course not
  16. Well done to Brendan and Swansea, really good footballing side and great work ethic. I actually envy their whole setup but anyway, so so fortunate to get away with a draw tonight despite the fact that we controlled the whole second half. Feel like there is so much work that needs done to this side that we would have needed this window and the summers to rectify the problems here. Im not going to single out individual players here for ridicule, there were no outstanding performances to speak of anyhow, but something needs to be said or done to this squad to sort this out. Ive read with and laughed at people in our transfer thread who have talked about players like Eden Hazard who wont be going to Le Arse because they wont be in the champions league next year. Well ive got a wake up call for you folks...WE MIGHT NOT BE THERE! Its fine to say Le Arse and scumpool are droping points the same as us but we are severely riding our luck here. Im not down grading this Swansea side because they are twice the footballing side that we are but we have to turn this around soon. There are so many creative issues that im starting to doubt whether a creative mid is all we need. Im extremely disillusioned tonight but i still hold out some hope for us yet...just
  17. First off fair play to Swansea, they play some great football. We just need to sort out a couple of tiny aspects and we will be able to match them, namely tactics, passing,shooting,creativity...well you get the picture. Ash and Flo have been useless tonight (although no one has covered themselves in glory) and Ash in particular needs to be hooked or hes getting sent off. Never seen a win tonight and unfortunately nothing has changed my mind.
  18. couldnt confirm but i seriously doubt it
