I remember a while back wenger came out and said that he was molding Walcott into a striker, taking him away from the touchline hugging sprinter he was pulling him inside. Dunno if that strategy has since been aborted or what, but ever since he came on late against barca in CL a few years back, ran abidal into the ground and scored one and assisted one to bring arsenal back level, I thought he had a great future ahead of him. Maybe what he needs is to do like Ashley young this year and make a switch. Not saying it'll be to us, but to a team with more feesable ambitions and resources. Hyped? Yes. Promising? Yes, hes still young.

70m is too much. 60m-65m would be more feesable. 

^^am I wrong or is it that the 3 players you listed are deep-lying playmakers and you are comparing them to a pure "holding midfielder"? I don't think mikels role was ever to get as far forward as they do. From what I know, those two roles are defined a bit differently. Just saying. Could be wrong tho.

Maybe we just take it on the chin LIKE MEN and stop pointing fingers and scapegoating as many people as possible. It's a really evident character flaw. The great teams bounce back, big deal, took a risk in a big game, and it didn't work. Get back out there Monday morning and put in the the effort to improve. Were def good enough, we played like shit and were right there in it till the end. United played like shit and bounced back, we will too.

Watched FSC today showing a champions league match of Chelsea v atletico in oct '09....it's been so long since seeing lamps play like that, he was absolutely amazing!! So confident and incisive, damn I hope he comes around like that again. He is absolute class.

^^ I'm not sure if Ramires has the discipline to hold, he's more dynamic than mikel, but he will inevitably get caught out venturing too far forward. That's one thing mikel is good at, is being composed and keeping the shape.

Had a lot of promise, I feel like his ability to read the game in attacks hasnt developed as quickly as some would have hoped. Isn't a great finisher and even though he has the skill and pace to beat defenders, his confidence in his ability holds him back from doing it. Which is, again, a mental aspect of the game. He should give himself a new start in germany, France, netherlands I think he can be effective somewhere else. He did score a few goals last season and always does try hard lol

Is his suspension up after Norwich?

Was it just me, or was Mikel a solitary bright spot in a shaky midfield against WBA? Perfect performance? No. But watching him boss around and win tackles in the middle third was heartening, to say the least  keep it up.

If were playing him on the wing, then IMO willian (shaktar) > Alvaro.....
