Mate, I see your doubts and tbh I do share some of them because Lukaku is not your every-day talent. He's the complete opposite, and yet still a very special prospect because he possess skills you can't teach (or at least you can't teach them easily). He's oozing with potential and it's just a matter of heading him into the right direction but that's something Chelsea's gonna have to care about. Can they provide the right service for him to work on his weaknesses?! I'm not sure if a loan to WBA was the best of ideas but I hope they have a clear plan. It would be a shame if they don't.

You were the one to mention that he has to be as talented as those guys at the age of 19. Lukaku was already making an impact when he was 17, so why not compare them?! How come Lukaku as a teenager was a starter in a professional league? And don't tell me "because of his build". There's much more you need to possess to make yourself a name and be targeted by all the European top-sides at such an early point of your career. He may never become a super gifted palyer in terms of technique but has attributes that are equally important and still he's fucking 19 years old! He's growing as a person and player and considering that strikers reach their prime in their late 30s he's got plenty time to develop. Talent is and has always been secondary. Look at Kakuta. Such a brilliant talent but he has done fuck all so far. Players like Puyol and Terry who will fight for their chances are more likely to become great players than those Kakuta types because they don't rely on what they already have but on what the feel. with potential.

Well, then let's have a look at the stats of those players. Drogba (age 19): 2 apps in the second France divison, no single goal Van Persie (age 19): 29 apps for Feyenoord, 15 goals Agüero (age 19): 49 apps for Atletico, 27 goals Cavani (age 19): 7 apps for Palermo, 2 goals Falcao (age 19): 1 app for River Plate, 2 goals And now Lukaku's stats... 18 apps for West Brom, 6 goals Lukaku's playing in the best and most competitive league in the world now and he's putting up good numbers. Aside from Agüero (and Van Persie probably) neither of those strikers mentioned did anything that would have justified calling one of them future world beater. They were talented, but that's it. All of them became superstars at later stages of their careers because they put in hard work and dedication. Talent is just secondary if you have the right attitude, and hell, Lukaku's got both of them! Give the lad some time to develop his feel for himself and you'll see he has game.

Wait. You want a 23-years-old to be as good as Drogba etc. in their primes?! Sry, if I misunderstood but what you are saying is ridiculous. You just can't expect someone that young to be as good as those strikers on top of their game.

Merry Christmas to all of our Christian users and their families!

For some reason I didn't receive a notification for this post but got one for all the other posts of mine that were liked or quoted. Wondered whether it's something occasional or not.

Hands down, Lampard's the best player in Chelsea history!
-
And yet again we will be left with the wrong striker...

As I already said, Pjanic is on another level when it comes to defending compared to the likes of KDB, Josh and Oscar. He's not one of those who will chase down their opponents (like Oscar, for example) but rather use his intelligent positioning to be in the right place in beginning. His tackling has improved a lot, especially since he moved from Lyon, but for him tackling is really the last resort when defending. Pjanic might look weak but his ability to keep balance and his lower body strenght help him to compete against stronger opponents.

Oh dammit ...

Lmao it's brilliant, isn't it? Every player that scores against us will be named a potential transfer target sooner or later. Expect the same with Weimann if he scores for Villa tomorrow!
-
Looks shit, tbh.
-
Here you go...
-
I've just tried both options, "New since my last visit" and "Content I have not read", and neither solves the problem. Something else I should try?
-
Pardon, where can I select that?
-
Yeah, but do I have to do that everytime?
-
Still not working for me. Do I have to do something specific in order to make it work like it used to?
-
Yep. What I'd like about that partnership would be the calmness both of them bring to the table. Pretty sure. Bosnia are using a 4-4-2 system which turns into a 4-2-3-1 formation as soon as the game starts. He's being paired with either Medunjanin or Zahirovic for most of the games.
-
Dunno where Pjanic plays at Roma but for Bosnia he's been playing in the double pivot for 2 years now and he's the brain of that team. He's initiating every single attack, he knows how to time his runs into the box and he's defensively miles ahead of KDB and McEachran. I remember we were close to signing him (at least that's the media talk) in January 2011 already when Lyon suddenly increased the price tag. Really hope it happens this time.
-
You don't need to use that as an "excuse". Drogba still outplayed Torres
-
Just re-watched that miss. HOLY FUCK EVEN A VIETNAM VETERAN WITH ONLY ONE LEG WOULD HAVE SCORED THERE!
-
But is that worth leaving Chelsea, HIS club? I think that's actually the question, he's asking himself now.
-
I think Lamps is smart enough to know that he can't be a starter anymore and that he has to play less in order to be effective. And he definitively knows about the goalscorers stat, he will want to crown himself.
-
Letting Frank go would top the board's stupidity off.
-
Do you know what you're saying? You'd rather play some guy in the double pivot who will give the ball away 3 times out of 10 when he passes?! Just to have a couple of key passes? Those won't make up in any way for the defensive problems we'd face if we had such an unreliable passer in front of our back-4.
