Ivanovic is average going forward, i wouldn't say he is good. Van Der Wiel is excellent going forward, and defending is an upgrade over Bosingwa. Also to be noted that VDW is much better with Holland, and seems to play better when surrounded with a better cast. I would say Azpilicueta is more likely going around 20m then 10m. If we are going to spend on a RB, i would go for Lukasz Piszczek. He is a player who has done very well for Dortmund, and saved them a few times with critical goals and assists. Its not fans, more mangers and the game. Even the most defensive minded managers like Mourinho prefers attacking fullbacks and just rather shield them with a DM.
-
We have Ivanovic who can defend first, but not the best going forward. Van Der Wiel is the opposite. It is not a bad fit. Azpilicueta is going to be expensive, and would not want to share playing time with Ivanovic.
-
Pretty sure that Aguero would want that no.10 if Dzeko leaves, and also most likely United promised him their famous #7.

I see us approaching Pep after his last game of the season, i don't think anything has been planned. I don't think he is leaving Barca because of the constant pressure. More to do with his relationship with the new Barca regime. I found what Johan Cruyff intresting

Wanted to replay for a while but didn't get the chance. Meireles being sold had nothing to do with AVB arrival at Porto, more to do with the fact it was perfect opportunity to make a profit and Meireles was linked with a exit for a while. We just have to agree to disagree, because i don't think Chelsea would have been interested Meireles or he would have joined us if it wasn't for AVB. Remember he left Pool because he wanted more playing time, his relationship with AVB sold him to join us. I don't have any sources before their switch, only articles discussing how Romeu was heavily linked to Porto the year before. I would imagine those articles would be in Spanish or Portuguese if they do exist. I think you are mistaken about Ramires for example. He actually fitted very nicely into AVB system, because last season at Porto he used Guarin the same way as Ramires. In his system the RCM are used to move forward and help the attack. Ramires wasn't effective as Guarin, because he doesn't have the passing or vision like Guarin. What didn't fit the system was Lampard, because he was very attack minded. The LCM in his system are asked to stay disciplined and not move forward. With the exception of the RCM in AVB system midfield doesn't have a major role in attack and very dependent on forward. Mata and Sturridge didn't press well, it is not just them the whole team is not really good at pressing as a whole. Particularity you can't have a highline defense without pressing, it is which why we struggled in the highline. AVB made a lot of changes here at Chelsea but what he wanted was his system and players. I also disagree with Lukaku as the next Drogba comparison, and i always thought of it as absurd. He is more Torres if you ask me, both would prefer the ball ahead of them and run behind the defenders for it. Drogba is more comfortable with the ball at his foot and droping back to connect the midfield with attack. I guess we have to agree to disagree because i believe a manager role is more then tactics, and it is why have gone through so many managers. Lets see what happens who get appointed.
-
Who is the one that has played out of position again? I remember Sturridge has played exclusively as wide player this season, with the exception of the last game of the PL season. While Torres has been exclusively as a CF. Need to come up with something better.
-
Why? in all likelihood we will go into next season with Torres, Sturridge, and Lukaku as our CF. I have faith in Torres, but there is no guarantee he will hit on all cylinders. Sturridge can take his chances and prove he is the best CF on the squad. Fuck off, every comments of yours is shit as the next one.
-
I hope not either, he played his best football in the double pivot this season. I think if RDM stays or another manager who continues the 4-2-3-1 then i think he can extend his career.
-
Yeah his contract expires next summer. It will be interesting to see if it happens, i think it depends more on Lampard then Chelsea. If he has a lesser role next season, i think it is less likely he stays. He will have major offers abroad.
-
I don't either, he is going to be immense wherever he goes. For me Hulk is better then Hazard atm, while Hazard is younger and potential to be better.
-
Doesn't matter they will benched by Kalouda Hazard easily if i am honest. For me i am not sure if Lucas will be a world beater or be like Angel Di Maria. He can be a headless chicken at times. I would say Lucas probably has a higher ceiling, because of his close control and dribbling.

This CL is so special because it is for those great squads we have had in the past decade. They were deserving of being champion of Europe, but luck wasn't on their side. Ballack was so unlucky, he comes in 2nd so many times in major competitions. You would think he is cursed. But no doubt he is the most complete midfielder of his generation. If he had won some of those competitions i have no doubt he would be as highly regarded as Lothar Matthaus. Thought of Joe Cole too, more of Ballack because how unfortunate he was.
-
Anybody else thought of Ballack and wished he was still part of the squad to lift that CL trophy?
-
Hard to imagine him joining us if we don't have a manager. I would think for Hazard it is very important knowing who he will be playing for and how will he be utilized.
-
Hazard agent: "Eden will make up his mind after Belgium's matches vs Montenegro & England, then he'll go on vacation with an eased mind." and "We have received the propositions of all interested clubs, Eden isn't negotiating anymore because everything is now clear."
-
Didn't say no club is interested in him, he will find a club as a free agent. I said no club will pay him like a Chelsea player and pay a fee on top of it. It will be extremely difficult moving Malouda for example, unless we finance his move or PSG sign him. We don't sell our players usually because of our wages. It is the reason why City will also find it difficult selling their deadwood.
-
You know there is a problem with that, like who would buy him? Lets overlook the lack of talent and potential first. He would most likely be on a 60k a week, and for most clubs that is how much they pay their top player. Right now Kalou is making more then Modric at spuds. Don't see the point of giving Kalou more time at the club. Would rather see KDB or Kakuta get that playing time. I would make a case for Bosingwa before Kalou if i am honest.
-
The comparison to Walcott is stupid, he is by far more technically gifted then him. Only thing working for Walcott is his pace, Lucas is a lot more complete. I am not sold on Lucas either, i would make the comparison to Angel Di Maria. A lot of ability and talent but awful decision maker. Lucas is only 19, if he improves his decision making and end product he will be world class.
-
Or maybe he is more likely to be attacked and criticized because of his price tag. Its fair to say he hasn't lived up the record transfer fee, fans are going to look for anything to vent their frustration and displeasement. I have already said only the timing is fair to criticize him for.
-
You also left out that he contributed 18 assists. He has not played that well that is given, a lot to do with himself and others out of his control. The only thing i criticize him for is giving that interview just after wining the CL, it would have been well advisied to do the interview well after. So the timing is bad. You could make argument he deserved to play ahead of Kalou, and in that game he did more in then Kalou did in almost 90 minutes. He is a competitor and the expectation should be for him to be a leading man for the team. I don't want our highest paid player, being happy as a bench player and not more expected of him.
-
tsh i guess people here want the guy we paid 50m be happy that he was on the bench for the biggest game of the season.
-
I don't see anything wrong with his comments, the only thing wrong with it is the timing. If he had said he wasn't surprised and not disappointed by not starting then personally i would have been disappointed in Torres. I don't think he should feel like he is Malouda or Kalou, accept a rotational role and be happy as a sub. He is the club highest paid player and should expect to play in the club biggest game. He did also say he was very happy to contribute to the game in the end. I would have been disappointed in him, if he is happy just being a role player instead the player the club paid 50m for. I think he has also every right to know what the club expect from him and what his role is. It is the best interest of all parties, he wants reassurance the club thinks of him as their #1 striker not as Drogba backup.
-
Was the interview in Spanish?
-
This If he simply looking to join the team who offers him the most money, then he can fuck off to City. I know the 200k is an exaggeration by the media, but Mata is well below 100k a week. He should be given a similar contract, not twice as much.
-
This is some of the biggest bullshit i have read. you act like Kalou never throw a tantrum and never sulked, when in fact he does many times over his Chelsea career. He has sounded off and ripped his teammates on a few occasions. How can anyone forget when he was lucky enough to score the winner against spuds last season, and he decided to sulk and refused to celebrate with his teammates because he didn't start the game. You really don't think RDM playing Lampard in the double pivot role has nothing to do with his performance? Lampard at this stage of his career is suited to play a deeper role, his performance has much to do with RDM better using his talents. Again Cole performance has nothing to do with being rotated and rested? And getting better cover help then Mata provided on the left flank. Malouda? shit before and after AVB. Essien? The man has given so much to the club, it is disgraceful to blame him for not giving his all and not playing better. The numerous injuries wont allow him to be the old Essien, it is simple as that. Kalou a better man then Essien? Essien has always been known to give everything on the pitch, and what shouldn't be also questioned is Essien as a men is better then a mere footballer. He is truly a great role model and a great ambassador for Chelsea. His philanthropy work in Africa is inspiration, and can't imagine a better men representing Chelsea football club.
