  1. I hope not either, he played his best football in the double pivot this season. I think if RDM stays or another manager who continues the 4-2-3-1 then i think he can extend his career.
  2. Yeah his contract expires next summer. It will be interesting to see if it happens, i think it depends more on Lampard then Chelsea. If he has a lesser role next season, i think it is less likely he stays. He will have major offers abroad.
  3. I don't either, he is going to be immense wherever he goes. For me Hulk is better then Hazard atm, while Hazard is younger and potential to be better.
  4. Doesn't matter they will benched by Kalouda Hazard easily if i am honest. For me i am not sure if Lucas will be a world beater or be like Angel Di Maria. He can be a headless chicken at times. I would say Lucas probably has a higher ceiling, because of his close control and dribbling.
  5. This CL is so special because it is for those great squads we have had in the past decade. They were deserving of being champion of Europe, but luck wasn't on their side. Ballack was so unlucky, he comes in 2nd so many times in major competitions. You would think he is cursed. But no doubt he is the most complete midfielder of his generation. If he had won some of those competitions i have no doubt he would be as highly regarded as Lothar Matthaus. Thought of Joe Cole too, more of Ballack because how unfortunate he was.
  6. Anybody else thought of Ballack and wished he was still part of the squad to lift that CL trophy?
  7. Hard to imagine him joining us if we don't have a manager. I would think for Hazard it is very important knowing who he will be playing for and how will he be utilized.
  8. Hazard agent: "Eden will make up his mind after Belgium's matches vs Montenegro & England, then he'll go on vacation with an eased mind." and "We have received the propositions of all interested clubs, Eden isn't negotiating anymore because everything is now clear."
  9. Didn't say no club is interested in him, he will find a club as a free agent. I said no club will pay him like a Chelsea player and pay a fee on top of it. It will be extremely difficult moving Malouda for example, unless we finance his move or PSG sign him. We don't sell our players usually because of our wages. It is the reason why City will also find it difficult selling their deadwood.
  10. You know there is a problem with that, like who would buy him? Lets overlook the lack of talent and potential first. He would most likely be on a 60k a week, and for most clubs that is how much they pay their top player. Right now Kalou is making more then Modric at spuds. Don't see the point of giving Kalou more time at the club. Would rather see KDB or Kakuta get that playing time. I would make a case for Bosingwa before Kalou if i am honest.
  11. The comparison to Walcott is stupid, he is by far more technically gifted then him. Only thing working for Walcott is his pace, Lucas is a lot more complete. I am not sold on Lucas either, i would make the comparison to Angel Di Maria. A lot of ability and talent but awful decision maker. Lucas is only 19, if he improves his decision making and end product he will be world class.
  12. Or maybe he is more likely to be attacked and criticized because of his price tag. Its fair to say he hasn't lived up the record transfer fee, fans are going to look for anything to vent their frustration and displeasement. I have already said only the timing is fair to criticize him for.
  13. You also left out that he contributed 18 assists. He has not played that well that is given, a lot to do with himself and others out of his control. The only thing i criticize him for is giving that interview just after wining the CL, it would have been well advisied to do the interview well after. So the timing is bad. You could make argument he deserved to play ahead of Kalou, and in that game he did more in then Kalou did in almost 90 minutes. He is a competitor and the expectation should be for him to be a leading man for the team. I don't want our highest paid player, being happy as a bench player and not more expected of him.
  14. tsh i guess people here want the guy we paid 50m be happy that he was on the bench for the biggest game of the season.
  15. I don't see anything wrong with his comments, the only thing wrong with it is the timing. If he had said he wasn't surprised and not disappointed by not starting then personally i would have been disappointed in Torres. I don't think he should feel like he is Malouda or Kalou, accept a rotational role and be happy as a sub. He is the club highest paid player and should expect to play in the club biggest game. He did also say he was very happy to contribute to the game in the end. I would have been disappointed in him, if he is happy just being a role player instead the player the club paid 50m for. I think he has also every right to know what the club expect from him and what his role is. It is the best interest of all parties, he wants reassurance the club thinks of him as their #1 striker not as Drogba backup.
  16. This If he simply looking to join the team who offers him the most money, then he can fuck off to City. I know the 200k is an exaggeration by the media, but Mata is well below 100k a week. He should be given a similar contract, not twice as much.
  17. This is some of the biggest bullshit i have read. you act like Kalou never throw a tantrum and never sulked, when in fact he does many times over his Chelsea career. He has sounded off and ripped his teammates on a few occasions. How can anyone forget when he was lucky enough to score the winner against spuds last season, and he decided to sulk and refused to celebrate with his teammates because he didn't start the game. You really don't think RDM playing Lampard in the double pivot role has nothing to do with his performance? Lampard at this stage of his career is suited to play a deeper role, his performance has much to do with RDM better using his talents. Again Cole performance has nothing to do with being rotated and rested? And getting better cover help then Mata provided on the left flank. Malouda? shit before and after AVB. Essien? The man has given so much to the club, it is disgraceful to blame him for not giving his all and not playing better. The numerous injuries wont allow him to be the old Essien, it is simple as that. Kalou a better man then Essien? Essien has always been known to give everything on the pitch, and what shouldn't be also questioned is Essien as a men is better then a mere footballer. He is truly a great role model and a great ambassador for Chelsea. His philanthropy work in Africa is inspiration, and can't imagine a better men representing Chelsea football club.
  18. For me their their familiarity and root at Porto suggest he was a AVB recommendation. AVB also wanted Romeu at Porto before he left, a player that he wanted well before he moved to Chelsea. Romeu has said that AVB convinced him to join Chelsea. We definitely needed to booster the DM, but if it wasn't for AVB that person wasne't going to be Romeu. It is a collective decision, but the manager has a stronger role in transfers. Not all signings are brought up them, but they still have their input. Example Kevin De Bruyne, Lukaku, and Courtois. Not saying AVB had absolute power and full control. But his influence is greater then you suggest, is much greater then a guy given a squad and try to win with them. By AVB philosophy i do mean the high-line+possession+High Press. I still believe this is the style they club want to achieve, as we further rebuild our squad.
  19. I seriously doubt Meireless would be a Chelsea player if AVB wasn't our manager. It has AVB signing all over it, and consider his connection and history with the player. Another signing Romeu is without a doubt a AVB recommendation. We also know we were interested in Alvaro Pereira, he would be Chelsea player if it wasn't for the steep price.Evidence strongly suggest AVB had major influence on transfers. You still suggest that the club assembles the squad and then finds a manger to make it work. If that was the case then no manager would walk into the job. Sorry i have hard time believing AVB "the hottest young manager in the world" and managing his childhood club would leave his job for this proposition. It makes a lot more sense that AVB would have power over the signings and his philosophy aligns with the club aspirations. I don't think AVB firing changes the course of the club, i would expect the new manager to somewhat share AVB philosophy and playing style. That is not Capello he is the opposite. lol
  20. AVB brought players like Mata and Meirless, there is no force by the board to make a given set of players work and win. AVB job was to build a squad and lead the rebuilding of Chelsea in the vision of the club. In a recent interview in Brazil AVB mentioned that he wanted to sign Hulk and Lucas Moura. Marin was signed and he is very similar to Lucas, while Hulk is very likely to be signed also. It seems like the club still plan on the same vision they had when AVB was signed. I can't make sense of going after Capello because he is the opposite of AVB and his brand of football. Seems like the club really wants to move away from the current style, bringing Capello would do the opposite.
  21. AVB mainly got the job because of his creative and attacking football brand. Europa is not a big competition, but the hype of AVB and Bielsa is mainly due to the fashion of their game. I would be shocked if Capello is the next manager. Some people may think there is no sense in Roman hiring and firing but there is. He hired Carlo because he wanted to get the best out of a group of players with 2-3 years at the top of their game. Hired AVB to bring a new brand of football to Chelsea, but ultimately wasn't convinced he can do so. I would not understand the appointment of Capello, it would be illogical. oh and no way RDM would stay as a assistant manager, the guy would have dozens of offers. why Rogers over Martinez? I can't understand why Rogers is rated higher then Martinez, when Martinez is more experienced and basically seted the blueprint for Rodgers at Swansea.
  22. I don't know if this has been discussed one time or another, what is people thought on Ramires being tried out as a RB? Can he succeed there? i think his work rate, defending and pace could make him a very good attacking fullback.
  23. I don't think it is about money, there could be other reason why he would want to leave. Money and success is not the be all and end all for every footballer. Could see Real Madrid going after him.
  24. That is not true, Europa winners don't get automatic entry to the Champions League. OT: Falcao should only arrive if Torres is leaving and i don't see that happening, it seems like Falcao is on the move anyway because Alti are looking at a few strikers.
