Telegraph not reliable? Thats news to me. They, alongside guardian are the most reliable newspaper for sports related articles in england. The ubreliable sources are the likes of mail, dailystar, goal, talksport et al

Vintage is a reach but good performance nevertheless. His hold up and link up play was much better
-
Jesus he's not allowed to have pne bad game (it's arguable because he caused jt and cahill problems and was starved of service for majority of the game). Its embarrassing how people are so desperate to pounce on him after one game without a goal. Show me a player that scores and plays well every single game. Nit even messi or ronaldo have such flawless record. The only time I will ever accept that he's overrated is if he fades into oblivion the next coming seasons like a one season wonder. For now he's doing everything right and showing signs of a player destined for greatness. If he was a chelsea player we had all be over the moon.look how some fans are already labelling zouma the next desailly after only a handful of games but a contender for player of the season and a definite favourite for young player of the season is nothing special and just an average striker apparently. Whether he's just a one season wonder,we will have to wait to find out but for now the criticism or skepticism reeks of bitterness

We got the last laugh. congrats all around
-
Cahill has infected his teamates with the backing off syndrome
-
Wow we are making kane look like pele ffs
-
Erikksen hits the bar

And the inevitable negative tactics and shit football
-
a bit?
-
I will have a nice movie loading in the background to alternate between the inevitable shit show we are about to witness
-
The most negative manager in top flight football history. even the inventor of catenaccio, helenio Herrera had more balls
-
Jesus. It's like Jose has been reading this forum. Another 90 minutes of shit, negative and low quality football from us it is then.
-
Im I the only one that can't stand the way owen talks. his accent is so yuck
-
That's orgasmic from stones. He's calmness personified
-
The only time I have ever cheered on the scouse cunts. Now go back to being shit please
-
And thats the only thing they have in common even though coutinho is more consistent. talent wise though, its not even debatable who's more talented and has better attacking midfielder attributes
-
Without a doubt. Passing, vision, creativity, dribbling, first touch, retaining posession under pressure and all round technical ability, coutinho is miles better. If coutinho was more consistent, he would easily be on the level of silva
-
Oscar is better tho lololol
-
I have to say only liverpool and arsenal have proven, on a consistent basis, the ability to dominate city posession wise and in terms of creativity. I would love to see us put teams under consistent and relentless pressure like that in a big game for a change.
-
Sterling's shooting ability is his main weakness and it's a major one. He either scuffs his shit or blasts it over the bar
-
Cahill in midfield. Are ake, ramires, and fabregas et al that bad. This is insane. There are plenty of options I had consider in dm for this match before cahill and that includes willian and oscar. The only way this makes any sense is if we have major major injury crisis and no other option
-
Both teams have many players who are technically gifted enough to not lose posession under pressure.

In the end majority of football fans recognise good football as good football regardless of the philosophy and execution style. In layman terms a team that attacks and defends well with the right amount of balance and proportion (i.e not 80% defending and 20% attacking) are said to have played a great game. the football we played throughout last year and the majority of the big games this season has been anything but good by any standard. For example, you saw how our performance against City at the etihad last year and Monaco's against Arsenal were lauded despite being counter attacking in style. People appreciate good football in different forms so there's no major bias towards tiki taka as some are implying. The problem is jose, throughout his career, in the big games, has consistently delivered overwhelmingly negative football with little attacking initiative and creativity and managers are judged not just on trophies/success alone but also on the quality of their overall performances in big games and major competitions amongst other things.
-
Im not saying the league is the equivalent or eredovisie or anything but the more I see more youngsters like ibe, kane, sterling et al fitting in seamlessly, the more I believe the idea the leap for talented youngsters being such a difficult and almost impossibe transition is blown out of proportion and overrated. If those youngsters can make it, there's nothing to suggest our best youngsters, who have dominated the youth league domestically and in europe can't make it. Whats so special about the bloody league that would make players like rlc and boga struggle?
-
Masterclass of a performance from monaco. This is counter attacking football done right. If we play like this in big games, more often than not, majority of those draws we have been having would be 3 pts and no one would complain. Even their game management has been excellent i,e keeping the ball well high up the pitch and running down the clock.
