And that's one of the reasons why he's the best manager in the universe and beyond. Such tactical ingenuity that's only bested by his "two striker formation whenever we are chasing the game".
-
The 3rd season syndrome isn't a myth afterall. From now on teams that hire him will be smart to only offer three year contract, if he proves himself beyond the second season and does well in the third season that's when he gets a renewal.
-
If there was ever proof that managers team selection isn't always based on merits then this is one. There's no logical reason for pushing him down the pecking order. I can understand if our striker (s) were in great form and the team isn't desperate for goals. People who think young strikers like bamford and Solanke will have a chance in the future are in for a rude awakening. If Remy, with his pedigree, isn't getting games then there's no chance in hell Jose will favor those strikers in the future.

I thought only experienced players and established internationals earning big wages can produce good performances for a club like Chelsea. If it was up to the "experience/reputation is the only thing that counts " crowd, This lad would be on loan right now, benefiting another club with his talent instead. Give these kids a chance to show what they can do and they might surprise many doubters. And a time when many of the regular first team players are struggling and playing like crap is the perfect time to try a different and bolder approach.

The manager describes selecting one of/if not the worst player in the epl so far (based on form) for four consecutive games as giving confidence to a player. so that is more important than doing everything possible to win matches Jose huh?. If he's all about "giving players confidence" why didn't players like De bryune, Mata, Schurrle et al get the same love/treatment. Where was this attitude of keeping the teams affairs behind closed doors and not discussing individual players performance when he laid into a 19 year old youngster over his performance in a meaningless post season friendly.
-
Another overrated aspect of his game. Majority of his movement are running towards the wings/flanks and when he does get the ball, it usually results in him losing possession anyway either through lack of technique, bad decision making or trying to draw a foul. We can and should definitely do better than him if we are to meet our ultimate objective of becoming an elite team in Europe again.

I am embarrassed for those who put this guy in the same class as the Agueros, Suarez's of these world. He's not even in the tier below them i,e the benzema's and lewadowskis class. overrated as feck. he offers absolutely nothing when he's not scoring goals, his terrible attitude and antics on the pitch only compounds the misery. the irony is the same people praising and worshiping him are the same that discredit other technically limited poachers likes him i,e Chicharito, Huntelar et al.

Ivanovic
-
He did more in 17 minutes than Fabregas did the entire game
-
I'm sure pogba himself is so eager to join us right now. Why wouldn't he want to leave the serie a champions of the last 4 consecutive seasons and champions league finalist to join a mess of a team (because that's exactly what we are right now, a mess).
-
If Ivanovic starts this game, we need to hire a crisis management consultant to advice the club on how best to manage whatever dirt/leverage the serbian has on the manager.

Mourinho will lose the dressing room quickly if he doesn't get it together and fast. Everything is wrong at the moment. from team selections to tactics to defensive organization and discipline to offensive play (which is piss poor atm but not nearly as abysmal as our defending. a pub team could score hatrick against us at this point in time) Forget playing like a top team, we look poorer than most midtable teams at the moment Out of all the problems we are currently experiencing, the defending frailties is the most surprising considering that was Jose's trademark and it's also the biggest factor in our terrible start to the season result wise. I don't think some people realise just how bad we have been defensively. just to spell it out, we have conceded 9 goals in 4 games making us the second worst defence in the league after sunderland and to make matters worst we are giving up 5 clear goal scoring opportunites a game, that's not championship or even top four material. The most annoying thing is the one player that is most responsible for it (ivanovic) hasn't lost his place. Which brings me to the midfield, I have never seen a chelsea team look so open, weak and vulnerable in midfield as we have been. The spaces opponents are given is large enough to fill a grand canyon, Fabregas is constantly out of position and too weak defensively, matic is left to cover for his ass and do the job of two individuals despite his average mobility. Something has to be done about it, even if it means dropping Fabregas altogether. Our attack or attempt at it looks so stale and predictable, it's a joke at the moment. Horrible passing, lack of combination plays, slow tempo, over-reliance on crossing (which often fails to even beat the first defender most of the time), Costa is too busy protesting every little contact and non decision than actually playing football, Falcao, despite his goal, lacks any presence. where is remy?, hazard has been off form, Willian still lacks end product and so on. But the biggest worry of all is the fact that this current mess is not unprecedented, we have had it coming as we have been shocking since January but now the results are starting to reflect the performances. basically we have regressed badly and have shown absolutely no improvement whatsoever. Managers get sacked for precisely that at every top club all the time. If we continue along this path, i wouldn't be surprised if roman shakes things up at the end of the season or even before the season is over.

Does anyone still doubt the existence of "Jose third season phenomenon" ?

Best manager in the world my ass

Sometimes it's alright to admit that Jose isn't faultless. He's a big man who can defend/take care of himself you know. One (heck even 2) bad games isn't a justifiable reason to literally abandon any player permanently which is what happened to KDB who was at risk of losing his place in the Belgium world cup squad. He was poor against swindon (so what). If players only played based on merit and for then rarely anyone would be involved in 90 plus percent of matches. even Hazard wouldn't be in the starting 11 right now. Ultimately both parties are at fault here with the largest potion of it going to Jose. He's well known for his favoritism and if you are not among his favorites then you are shit out of luck. which is a terrible way to manage a squad/team imo.
-
Or we get knocked out of the competition earlier. depends which way you look at it.
-
Mourinho is confusing as hell. Before the season started i could have sworn he was a fan of moses.
-
Does this match fitness excuse also apply to other squad players like Remy,Zouma,Mikel et al who are required/expected to come on at anytime without any real consistent game time or starts and give good performances? or is it only exclusive to falcao.

Which Players Do You Regret Chelsea Selling?

Robben, Cech,KDB, Bertrand, and sturridge -
He's back to being the second coming of Totti on this board I see. I predict the hype will fade away once he returns to the side and the reality sets yet again that he's nothing more than an average and inconsistent attacking midfielder with decent finishing ability and not this key player/ messiah that some people are trying to portray him as.
-
So Jose's just going to demote this guy just like that? despite his competition, falcao, doing absolutely fuckall. Remy will probably leave in january and the jose defenders will find a way to blame this on the frenchman. "He was afraid of competition" "He didn't want to fight for his place" "Jose was right to demote him after that performance in a pre season friendly against arsenal" and so on.
-
If he's just going to keep Pocking the same players who have been pit of form for a while and whose performance are costing us and if he's not introducing any new ideas band showing great tactical nous and flexibility over the course of a match then what the heck do we need a manager for, especially one that's earning millions. We could hire the handy man at the bridge to do the job. That's how predictable and stale Jose's team selections and tactics have become. How hard can it be to keep picking the same players and keep playing crap football. Even a well trained robot can do that. For a manager that apparently only cares about winning, he sure values sentimentality a lot. He would rather pick his favourite players even if the chances of it backfiring is significantly higher.
-
Perhaps this is what mourinho was referring to when he said ""You can say ‘Why didn’t we do our business before the start of the pre-season?’ like we did last year but it's not because we don’t want to, it's because it’s not possible."So, in this moment, we are a bit limited" My theory is that we contacted Juventus months ago and they made it clear Pogba is not available this summer and we didn't want to settle for a secondary choice. After the City result, in a bid to appease the fans and see if Juventus have had a change of heart, we made this bid that's being reported.

For £69m we could buy moutinho/radja and a top centre back with some change to spare. Ppgba is not even the right fit for what we need IMO.
