If we get Osimhen and Sancho and the Colwil + Fofana partnership don’t improve steadily as the season progresses we’re going to be the most lopsided team ever assembled. We may score 5-6 goals per game and concede just about that many ourselves, ffs. Better pray that Lavia makes a big difference when he’s back and that we hold the ball as well as we did second half against Wolves.
-
I genuinely think the club hierarchy feel REALLY good about Fofana & Colwill as a pairing and are banking hard on them developing together over the course of the season. So I’d be stunned if they were thinking about adding another starting caliber CB tomorrow. I bet Trev will end up staying and be reintegrated.

Not watching but following along on Twitter. wtf is going on? Even if this was our B team it still has light years more talent than fucking Servette and should be comfortably pissing this tie…
-
What’s his wage currently at Napoli? It’s well under £300k, right? So if Lukaku and hopefully Sterling are both off our books, why could we not just offer to exactly match his current wage and we still come out of this window with a massively reduced wage bill?
-
Ben Jacobs now saying it’s not €30m per season from Saudi but €40m! There’s just no chance anyone can compete with that. This is over.
-
Well yeah, that goes without question. It’s a stupid signing.
-
How does Sancho coming to us make any sense whatsoever if Sterling isn’t going the other way? Why would United do it?
-
We still aren’t even offering a full on permanent buy for this summer? A loan? The reporting just yesterday is that we moved past that, ffs. He and his agent have apparently been adamant for weeks that a loan was disrespectful and not even being considered.
-
The Sterling/Sancho thing has gone awfully quiet. As has all talk about realistic moves for Broja or Chilly. The idea that such “big” players will just rot in the reserves until January sounds utterly disastrous to me. If other clubs aren’t moving for them now when we’re desperate to get rid of them who is going to want them a few months from now when they’ve been sitting around not playing any football?
-
Romeo retweeted 2 complete rando’s yesterday saying his injury isn’t serious and that he’ll be back very, very soon. Probably first game back from the international break. So I guess he’s trying to calm everyone freaking out about him down.
-
I wouldn’t be shocked at all if our “Hollywood” ownership intentionally saved something for the final day to make a splash whilst most other big clubs are quiet. But leaving maybe the final piece to our team (a top class #9) until the last minute seems so unnecessarily dumb.
-
Really hope we settle things one way or another TODAY and aren’t forced to scramble on the final day.
-
Soon as the report came out that Saudi were offering him 30m per year it was most likely over. No club in Europe can come remotely close to that. Even if we were offering £250k per week which is far above any of our recent signings, once he heard €30m per year that will seem like peanuts. Whatever. If we don’t sign him at least no other PL club is getting him. We’ll probably never see or hear from him again after this window when he’s playing in obscurity in the Saudi league. Out of sight, out of mind.
-
At least there’s only 2 more days in the window so we don’t have to watch these boring, dragged out sagas for much longer.
-
Just got through watching some footage myself and see he plays on the right side. Even if we sold Trev AND Disasi I don’t see a place for him when we’ve got Fofana and Tosin. And with Colwill, Badiashile, and Veiga who can fill in on the left what would be the point in another CB this window?
-
In years past we could’ve just flogged them all on loan at the last minute but with the limited loan spots how many do we even have left?
-
With our new wage structure we simply can’t go toe to toe with PSG. Never mind a Saudi club offering more in 1 year than Osimhen would make over 3-4 here. If PSG want this kid from Benfica they’ll get him. Especially since we pissed Benfica the fuck off during the Enzo ordeal whilst PSG just had a really smooth and amicable deal with them for João Neves. Honestly, forget incomings at this stage. I’m worried we’ve fucked ourselves with outgoings by waiting this long. Great Lukaku is gone but Broja, Sterling, Chilly, Trev, DDF etc all look extremely difficult to move at this point.
-
We seem to love getting into transfer tussles with like the only couple of clubs in the world willing to crazier than us in the transfer window.
-
Now seeing Paul Joyce report that Ipswich are after a striker from Palace. So that must been no Broja there. Man, today is looking awful from a Chelsea POV!
-
Jesus. I take a nap for a couple of hours and everything goes to shit. Looks like no Osimhen, no Sterling leaving, and no Sancho coming (good). That salary offer from Saudi is straight up impossible to turn down. His career is effectively over at 25 but he’ll get to live like an Emporer for the rest of his life with that kind of money. Not TOO upset that we may end up with no new striker this window now. But I am really annoyed that we may be stuck with Sterling and Chilly still on our books.
-
The Chilwell to United link never made an ounce of sense so I never even gave it a second thought or got my hopes up. They’ve got Luke Shaw who already misses about 60% of every season with injury. So why would they want another LB who also misses 60% of every season with injury? Chilly may be one of the trickiest players for us to move because of his wages, injury history, and because he’ll probably be thinking he’s too good drop down to a small club.
-
Yeah, I’m definitely in the “if not Osimhen then wait until next window” camp. Giving a 28 year old Ivan Toney big wages and what would probably have to be a 5 year contract PLUS a £50m transfer fee would be a terrible piece of business. If he flopped this season we’d then have a completely unmovable player on our hands. Or worse, we could go for DCL… 🤢🤢🤢
-
Do you want us to have 15 attacking mids? lol
-
If Saudi is offering him £400-500k a week and we’re offering a third of that then that’s the kind of gulf he’ll feel he can’t turn down. But if we’re offering him £200-250k and he chooses Saudi then good riddance. Rotten, mercenary attitude and he’s throwing his career away at age 25.
-
The thing with Sancho is that if we make a legit move for him and speak with him via his agent I doubt he’ll choose moving to Italy over the club he supported as a kid. Especially if they’re is offering a loan and us a permanent move. Doubt he wants to go through this whole situation again a year from now and would rather his future be settled.
