  1. Offering a “star” player HALF of his current wage is an insult and is embarrassing from us if true.
  2. NapoIi have some leverage now but not too much. If we’re now all that’s left for Osimhen and they think we’re desperate they can demand a higher fee. But surely they can’t afford having his massive wages on their books rotting and on the bench when they’ve brought in Lukaku, McTominay, Billy Gilmour, and others. So they can’t push us too hard or they screw themselves.
  3. If we are the final remaining possibly for Osimhen, have a free run at him and we STILL fail to bring him in because Napoli dig their heels in I’m just gonna laugh. After we came way down on our valuation on Lukaku. Surely not…
  4. Hasn’t been any substantial update on Osimhen since early this morning. Doesn’t look like the Saudi move is happening at the moment but nothing from our end about improving our offer to him either.
  5. The United fan meltdown reactions are more fun than actually signing him and working out where tf he’s going to play. If it’s a loan I wonder if it’s a buy option or obligation. There are benefits to both. If he surprisingly performs like he did at Dortmund then a low obligation fee benefits us. But if he stinks up the joint we’re on the hook with a player we never even needed. If he performs super well and it’s merely a buy option then United could then just charge us huge money or sell him to the highest bidder.
  6. Still impossible for me to imagine Sterling and Chilly exiled and chilling at home for 4 months until January. They HAVE to go and play football. Likewise Broja. Trev, if he doesn’t go, I feel is the only one I could imagine being reintegrated into the team.
  7. Speaking of American sports salaries, I don’t think people who only follow UK/European sports really realize just how INSANE they are compared to footballers. These days the top NBA stars are going to be making $60m+ per year. The very top NFL QB’s make well north of $50m per year. We think these footballers are overpaid, it’s a different ballgame over here in the States.
  8. Feels like everything has gone silent at the moment. Ten Hag even saying Sancho is staying now. With Toney currently doing his medical for the Saudi’s you’d have to assume that if Osimhen decides to say yes to their offer we can just quickly pivot to Toney and use that medical info.
  9. As with Lukaku, the club genuinely did think that Sterling was going to be a 100% guaranteed superstar for many years when he came here. So the silly money we paid out for both and the crazy contracts were seen as something you just had to do with top class players. Ironically, exactly what’s currently preventing us from signing Osimhen. They’ve learned from those egregious errors and don’t want a repeat.
  10. Would Sancho be an upgrade on Sterling for us? Yeah, probably. Much younger and better able to beat players for fun in open space just like Madueke & Neto which is what Maresca loves in a winger clearly. But the issue is that Sterling wasn’t even playing because there is no space! So why would that be any different with Sancho? Does he just take all of Mudryk’s minutes? I mean, okay, but then it’ll be even tougher to sell Mudryk somewhere next summer if he ain’t playing!
  11. Why would Villa let Duran leave today? They desperately need quality depth or they severely harm their chances whilst trying to go far in the UCL and PL. They’ve got nobody behind Ollie Watkins without Duran, right?
  12. Going from Osimhen to DCL would be like going from Margot Robbie to the broad working the window at your local McDonalds.
  13. I’d rather stick Datro Fofana or Broja from out of the wilderness up front than see us sign DCL. That’s how little I rate him. Would be comfortably the worst signing we’ve made under these owners and it would make us a laughing stock.
  14. Everyone is just tweeting variations of the same fucking thing over and over and over again. “Still no green light from Osimhen.” Thank god this ends today.
  15. PSG been awfully quiet on Osimhen, btw. With the price only being €65m I’m stunned they aren’t jumping in.
  16. The talk now is that Sterling really could go to Arse. We 100% need his wages off the books but It really doesn’t feel right sending him there. Think he genuinely does very well in that team.
  17. If Osimhen and Toney are off the table then DO NOT panic and sign anyone else! We should have more than enough firepower between Palmer, Jackson, Nkunku, Neto, and Felix to get us to January where we can survey the striker market again. Maybe by then someone unexpected will emerge that isn’t available now.
  18. I’m pissing myself laughing at this Deivid Washington deal. Everyone on Twitter that’s not a Chelsea fan crying about it 🤣🤣🤣 tbf, it is crazy that it’s allowed…
  19. If Sterling goes today along with Lukaku already being gone I would’ve just offered to match his exact current Napoli wage. If he said no to that then fuck it, let him go to Saudi. But to still be proposing a loan move at this stage when he has said no all summer is stupid. Toney I couldn’t care less about. I was indifferent on him in particular but would’ve been happy that we signed a striker.
  20. Holy shit. Not only have we waited until the final hours to secure a striker and missed out on both of the main targets, but they’ve gone to the SAME FUCKING CLUB! Unreal. So we get nothing.
  21. The club will surely be doing their due diligence I hope. He seemed to clash with Ten Hag really early on so maybe they’ll be thinking it’s just something really personal between them and it won’t be an issue here? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  22. Yep. It’s puzzling for sure. I’ve seen conflicting reports that his wages are even more insane than Sterling’s. So unless he’s halving his current wages this just seems even dumber. Say what you want about Sterling when he’s on the pitch but he seems like a good professional. Sancho on the other hand has been a bit of a cancer at United.
  23. I think Sterling would do very, very well under Arteta at Arse. I don’t think he’d be any better at United than he was for us which was bang average. United’s attacking play and style I just don’t think will suit him as well. So hopefully if he goes tomorrow it’s to United. If he goes to Arse and looks like his City self again we’d never hear the end of it.
  24. I guess? What else could explain it? We’re absolutely loaded in that area of the pitch and will be even more so a year from now. If we indeed push for the deal tomorrow the club must think that a change of scenery back to London will unlock his top form again and we’d have an £80m+ caliber player on our hands for cheap.
  25. The Sancho thing just feels strange from every side if it happens. Strange from our POV because we don’t need him at all. Strange from the United side because if he does rediscover his best form they’ve just handed him to us for what I assume is a massively discounted price. Also strange if we sell Sterling to Arse and United don’t get anything out of this deal at all other than getting his wages off the books I guess.
