People need to keep some perspective I feel. True, we don’t have a marquee striker but between Palmer, Neto, Nkunku, Felix, and Jackson that should be plenty of goals to get us into contention for 3rd/4th. If Sancho miraculously turns things around that’s a significant upgrade on Mudryk who barely looks like a footballer. I’d be depressed if Newcastle, United, Villa, Liverpool etc all had 10 out of 10 windows whilst we signed dross. But none of them made moves so good that we should be thinking “yikes, we got left behind.” Newscaster signed basically nobody, Liverpool signed ONE player who is a huge injury risk. United signed some players that should be good but don’t look like big game changers to me. We should be fine as long as there’s steady improvement and comfort within this new system. Oh, and if key players like Lavia can keep fit.

Maybe Sterling helps Arse take points off of our top 4 competitors and it’ll be worth this shit deal? 😬😬😬
-
Yikes. So we’re basically paying Sterling to play for Arse?
-
I’m not that worried about a transfer ban tbh. All of our big signings recently are young and we have even younger gems coming in. It might even be a huge blessing in disguise for these crazy directors. It’ll stop us buying 5 more goal keepers and 7 more attacking mids.
-
Good to get the wages of Kepa, Lukaku, Sterling, etc off our books for a year even if only temporarily for some of them I guess. But we’re going to be going through this very same shit this time next summer. Desperately scrambling to find homes for these guys. Unless they all perform super well on loan that is.
-
So in the end Chilly may be the only big earner who rots on our bench until January unless I’m forgetting someone?
-
No, talking about what Di Marzio is now saying. We apparently offered him €4m base salary with the rest in bonuses which he says is less than half his current Napoli wage. Imagine getting offered €30-40m per year in the morning and then we come in after he said no to Saudi to wait for us and we offer €4m.
-
The reported offer I’m seeing we presented to Osimhen….holy shit. 🤣🤣🤣 No wonder he refused.
-
So now the game begins again in January regarding a striker. I wonder which flavor of the month makes a name for themselves in the lead up to that window that we’ll inevitably be linked with? No chance we go back for Osimhen after he was so stubborn and refused us.
-
We shouldn’t be upset with Osimhen himself at all. Be upset with the club’s strict new structure if anything. Imagine you’re earning £250-300k and Chelsea are offering you maybe half that. That’s a hard wage cut to take I would think. If it was just a slight cut down to £200k it might be a good compromise but it doesn’t even sound like we went near that. We as Chelsea fans need to come to grips with the fact that we will no longer be able to go for the already established stars that are already on big wages. We can only go for up and coming future stars who are on low wages to whom £120k per week is a huge raise for them.
-
Welp. We didn’t get the striker we so desperately desired. But at least we didn’t do something idiotic and sign DCL or Omorodion. I’m just going to be happy with my two favorite signing of this window in Neto & Felix. I think we’ll be fine in attack for the most part.
-
Imagine telling Chelsea supporters exactly a week ago when a huge portion of our fanbase were already questioning where João Felix would play that on deadline day we’d be signing ANOTHER WINGER and no striker! It’s the most unbelievable thing I’ve seen. We’ll have 15 attacking mids and 1 senior striker. 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
Everyone was hyped up about this supposed “insane” deadline day for Chelsea and we may end up doing nothing of note other than a few outgoing loans. We’ve let the whole watching public down! 🤣
-
In addition, I’ve seen lots of Arse fans say that Saka gets really burnt out as the season goes on because they rely on him so much. So Sterling could rotate for him too.
-
I predict a lot of trademark Sterling far post tap ins for Arse. He’ll be a good depth signing for them. Martinelli can go from looking like a beast in some games to looking like a complete headless chicken pace merchant for a long stretch. So I think Sterling is a solid alternative.
-
It’s definitely a concern, I won’t kid myself about that. But I’m not going to panic yet. If Palace cause them all sorts of problems this weekend I’ll start to worry.
-
Think you should stop raging about the CB’s until we’ve seen a couple more PL matches. If the Colwill + Fofana duo struggle against this relatively easy opening set of PL fixtures then rage away. But I’m holding off on the anger for the time being on that position. Keeper, though… 😬😬😬 The situation we’re in there is inexcusable. I pray that Mike Penders saves us next summer lol
-
Trev is basically the best possible replacement for Andersen Palace could’ve hoped for. No buy option gives us the chance to bring him back and sell some of the current lot if he kills it at Palace.
-
What a dead deadline day this is for the entire league. Nobody is really doing anything, not just us. Which I suppose is what you want if you’re a well run club. But it’s still boring as hell. All this buildup and then nothing. As of this moment I’m more annoyed at the players that are set to stay than missing out on Osimhen.
-
This is why you NEVER deal with De Laurentiis. The guy pisses everyone off. Buying clubs, selling clubs, his coaches, and his players. Just don’t deal with the bastard after this window.
-
I’ve given up. No striker today. I'm very confident that we will score plenty of goals against inferior team this season with the players we have. Whether we can against the top teams will be the big question. Osimhen being a beast in the air and in the box when you need a crucial goal would’ve helped us against big teams, I think.
-
Yes, I do genuinely think we’ve been planning for a striker this whole time but wanted to leave it late hoping the selling clubs would be pressured to do a deal on our terms. But as we now see that could backfire spectacularly.
-
To chase a striker all summer, know it’s the main thing the side has needed for years, and to end up with only Sancho on loan today would be crazy. It’ll be good that the club didn’t panic and buy some scrub, but still. A long term injury to Nico Jackson and we’re relying on an 18 year old, super raw Guiu and an array of false 9 experiments.
-
Basically, nobody knows fucking anything as of right now and they’re just waiting like all of us are. But the idea of him staying and playing together with Lukaku is hilarious.
-
You may not rate him as such but in terms of how he’s viewed to much of the football world he’s a big time player. Top 10 Ballon D’Or finisher, player of the year in Italy, etc.
