  1. What's not to like about how we've played footballer under Conte if I may ask? Do you only like tiki-taka, walk the ball in the net football?
  2. All true, and I don't think we do need him. I'm just saying that I'd have him here no questions asked if possible. Can see a fresh Jamie Vardy wreaking absolute havoc on tired legs. "Plan B" if we're struggling could involve bringing on Cesc to repeatedly play balls through and over the top to a rampaging Vardy. Massive pain in the ass for opposing teams. I'm imagining sides like West Brom who will set up only to defend for 90 minutes. They'll expend so much energy that bringing on a player like Vardy would be a great weapon to have rather than a lumbering giant like Llorente. Not that any of this discussion matters anyways because they'd never sell him with no time to replace him and we'd probably have to pay far more than he's worth even if we had bought him earlier.
  3. Huh? Vardy is absolutely nothing like Morata or Bats. Vardy does almost all of his damage on counter attacks by running on to a through ball or lob into open space where he can build up a head of steam. He is totally different to our strikers.
  4. Surely there must have been some serious concerns over his off the pitch issues because you would think ourselves and several other big clubs would have snatched him up for that price. Fantastic signing for Spuds.
  5. ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ Like last season, I hope we look back at the end of this campaign and laugh at these sacking rumors.
  6. The media seem to love linking us with impossible targets lately. Do they even think things through before posting utter rubbish? Like, do they really think Everton will sell an essential player with only a few days left in the window? Just like the Vardy rumor.
  7. Miguel Delaney has a piece just out saying that David Luiz's performance against Spuds may effect Conte's thinking going forward in terms of transfer targets. That maybe David can permanently move into midfield and as a result signing VVD makes sense and we'd have no reason to sign Drinkwater. It's an interesting idea and I like the thought of a midfield 3 of Baka/Kante/Luiz like we deployed at Spuds. David sits at the base while Kante and Baka use their endless energy to bomb forward and support the attack more. Would save us quite a bit of money that's for sure.
  8. Would be a shame to see him there. He strikes me as the opposite profile of player for Spuds who seem to only like the squeaky clean, "nice guy" sort of players. His game is nearly identical to Kyle Walker's, though, so from a skill set point of view it makes perfect sense. Super athletic, great pace, loves to bomb forward.
  9. What use would we have for Barkley if we sign Drinkwater? Seems like it should be one or the other.
  10. Exactly. I doubt we're after another forward at all, but if we are it'll be a cheap, older one.
  11. True, but any club that's after him will be loaded as well. If Monaco is his only suitor and they offer him 200k a week I think he'd go there. We'll see. This rumor that we're still after him is bullshit, though.
  12. No offense to Monaco, but I think if Belotti moves it'll be to a big club don't you think? Get the feeling he really loves Torino and would only leave if it's for one of the very top level clubs. With so many players leaving them and with PSG buying their league back I think it'll be a significant step back for Monaco this season.
  13. He'd be the perfect Plan B striker but he's the one player who is irreplaceable for Leicester. There's no chance they sell him at this point in the window.
  14. You're right. I suppose Everton will be delighted to come away from that fixture with a point. I'd be very disappointed if we did so with a man advantage for a half.
  15. Should they really have to hang on desperately with a man advantage. Lucky they did get a point there. Oh well. One of their midfielders is now out against us.
  16. City dominating them with 10 men...๐Ÿ˜’ Everton are useless.
  17. He seems to be a key player for Wenger thus far and he even moved Bellerin out of his natural position to accommodate Ox against Stoke. I bet Wenger will do the same thing with him as they're doing with Alexis. Refuse any offer and let him leave for free next summer. Or they'll eventually offer him a crazy wage increase once we bid.
  18. Looks like now Conte will have a bit of a selection headache when it comes to our defense coming up. Andreas & Rรผdiger have both been good and Luiz & Azpi are obviously two of the first names on the team sheet. So I wonder who drops out? And then what happens when Captain Cahill returns?
  19. Drums that were apparently mic'd up to make them louder I read! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  20. Eriksen as well. Every time Dele or Eriksen got touched they fall the the ground and buy a cheap freekick.
  21. Thankfully we don't play sides who press like maniacs every week so Baka will now have a couple of games where we'll likely have the lions share of the ball and he can have some time and space in possession.
  22. He was a monster today. Also surprising that he got forward so much against a top opponent and looked good doing so. The confidence of having both Baka and David Luiz around him.
  23. People need to take into account the circumstances. No preseason, very first ever game with new teammates, huge rival, arguably the best midfield in the league, and coming off a bad injury. All that considered he did well. Showed a few flashes of his power and made a couple of surging runs. He gave away some silly fouls but that will sharpen up. I feel like he'll form an awesome partnership with Kante going forward. They cover every blade of grass.
  24. People actually think Morata played badly? What game were you watching? Other than the sitter of a header he missed early I thought he was very good. Each time he was actually able to get the ball and have some space he looked dangerous. Off the ball movement and runs were excellent. When your team can't hold the ball and he gets no service he can't exactly dominate, can he? Plus he was isolated with one or two CB's marking him.
