Read a stat on Twitter that only Hazard was a more effective dribbler last season than Wilf. Having the two best dribblers in the league terrorizing defenses on the same team would be a joke. Also much more of a goal threat than Wiliian.
-
I think they probably could but it would blow their entire budget in one go.
-
The risk with him staying but not agreeing a new contract is that with a year left the likes of City and United will come sniffing around offering him the moon to join one of them on a free.
-
Please not fucking Spuds, please not fucking Spuds, please not fucking Spuds. A top coach playing in a great team would make Zaha a nightmare. If Bailey is not happenenig Zaha is a very similar player.
-
The pace, dribbling, and interchanging with that front 3 would be outrageous. With Sarri as coach....oh my!
-
Didn't I already read that we've bid but that Juve declined it?
-
True. If he has a season like last where he finishes miles off the title and is a miserable cunt publicly I don't think they'll put up with him. Especially if the football is as shite as it was.
-
United would be absolute morons to agree to this swap. It would be Mourinho selling out their future in hopes of immediete success.
-
And this is precisely why there's zero chance Everton would sell him. Especially with only a couple of weeks left in the window. At this point after they've seen Alisson go for £70m, why would Everton not ask the same for a young, English, home grown keeper who just had a brilliant WC and they've only had for a year? It's similar to the Maguire to United rumor. They'd have to pay about double what he's worth. Liverpool fucked the market forever for CB's with VVD and for keepers with Alisson.

I keep coming back to that quote Hazard gave about the club needing to show ambition by signing top players. He surely said what our whole squad are thinking. He just had the balls to say it publicly. Our players see City and Liverpool going out and splashing massive cash on proven, top level players and are wondering why we aren't doing the same. If we stick with the same medicore attack that we had last season and just bring in this average player on a free, what sort of ambition is that?
-
Even if he's free, that would still take up a foreign player slot that should be used elsewhere.
-
They're thinking the same thing they did when they bought the likes of Miazga, Hector, Djilodildo, etc. Bring in players on the cheap and hope they explode into stars.
-
Here's the go-to guy I read on Twitter when it comes to Brazilians. Pure, 100% Chelsea, this. All of our supporters clamouring for an upgrade and our club will probably send Willian to United and sign this dude who is apparently not nearly as good. 😂😂😂
-
Higuain seems like he'd be essentially a one or two season rental. Immediete upgrade on Morata, yes, but we'd then likely be after another main CF next summer. Who knows how much the market will explode further by then. If only Conte hadn't fallen out with Diego...😩
-
This is the sort of highly ambitious signing that will make Eden think twice about wanting to join Real Madrid.
-
I think the only reason we'd have a slim chance at them agreeing is because no foreign clubs would be willing to pay a huge fee for a player that wouldn't be a huge piece for them. Bayern for example are the big foreign club linked but they almost never pay huge fees and he wouldn't start for them anyways. Both ourselves and Spuds have players they want. Hopefully we at least try. United swapping Martial for Toby A would be the worst case scenario for us. Both sides get better while we're stuck with Willian for another season. Martial would become top class under Poch. Or he could become top class here under Sarri.
-
Swap Willian for Martial, play Martial as the striker where most United fans think he is best, and then sign Leon Bailey for the right side. Simple, lads.
-
He wasn't in the squad Pretty sure I saw his name amongst the subs.
-
Nah, there will 100% be a last minute panic buy. Who knows which position.
-
Thought I read the price rumored for Thiago was 75m or something?
-
We're linked with about 4 more midfielders. I'd be shocked like I've never been shocked before if we signed any of them. They all seem impossible. We'd have to break our transfer record by a considerable amount in order to sign any of Pjanic, Thiago, or SMS. Watch us panic buy that Vecino dude from Inter on deadline day. He was totally anonymous at the WC and didn't catch the eye at all.
-
I think we'll see a 3 comprised of Cesc, Kante, and Jorginho against smaller teams where we have most of the ball. Against the bigger sides where it's more even and the quality of opponent is higher, we can deploy someone with more legs in place of Cesc like Barkley or Baka.
-
Man. We don't appear to be close to any other signings at the moment. Even ones that should be simple like a backup Juventus CB. This is feeling more and more like summers past where we buy one nice player and then panic at the very end on our 4th or 5th choices.
-
He really would've been the picture perfect midfielder for a Sarri team with his energy and technical ability. Felt like he could've been a massive bargain for the price being mentioned in the day and age when average players are going for £50m like Richarlison.
