Definitely expect Sarri to revert to his favorites Alonso, Barkley, and probably Willian. As for the game plan, we'll likely again have the lions share of play but have to make damn sure we don't leave ourselves wide open to the counter which is their best avenue of scoring. Can't allow Azpi to be stranded on an island against Felipe Anderson or he'll get destroyed.

United have gone through it in recent years with Ronaldo, Liverpool went through it with Suarez and then Coutinho, Spuds with Bale and Modric, Arsenal with RvP. Now it's our turn to sell our best player in their prime. All those clubs have managed to move on well for the most part. Liverpool, through excellent management and great signings, are now far better than they were before. Spuds likewise. City are the only club in the PL now who are probably immune to having any of their players poached because they have the best coach and unlimited money to offer in wages. Our problems are that we may be fucked by a transfer ban and even if we aren't, our club are shit at recruitment these days. Even Sarri has come out over the last week and said he wants to keep Kova who has been average, Higuain who has been disappointing, and doesn't feel like we need another midfielder to compete with Jorginho. So we'll basically have the same squad as this season minus our best player. Doesn't sound so great, does it?

Just have to pray that the club spend the money wisely (if we even can this summer!) and that Pulisic isn't viewed as the direct replacement because that won't be good enough. This would probably be the absolute worst possible time for us to lose our best player. Nevermind the transfer ban, all of our rivals will be getting stronger than ever. We'll be in danger of taking a massive step back if we don't adequately replace Eden's production.

It's so nice to see some actual incisive, quick thinking passes in the final third. Forming little triangles like you see City and Liverpool often doing. We've played sides like this all season who sit deep and deny us the middle of the pitch. We usually try to force it through with slow passes. This is what quick play gets us. Ruben, CHO, and Hazard were great today without even having to raise their game. They were kind of nonchalantly dominant. I think Ruben should 100% be given an extended run from here on out. More direct and decisive in the last third than either Ross or Kova. In form he's basically unstoppable since he's so strong.

Really refreshing and exciting looking team. Interested to see how this midfield 3 does.
-
Nuno of Wolves should be a serious contender for us if Sarri goes. What a coach he is. What a team he's created at Wolves.
-
Liverpool will slip once more before this all finishes. 🙃 Not worried.
-
Spuds 😂 How lucky are Liverpool, though!?
-
We definitely want Liverpool to win here to keep Spuds as close to us as possible for as long as possible. Both clubs are bottlers. Liverpool will choke at some point and City will win the title. Spuds will choke at some point and we have to hope we are there to capitalize.
-
The pace, athleticism, and beautiful delivery in the final third from both of Liverpool's fullbacks is what makes me genuinely jealous of them. It's almost as though they are a literal league of competition above ours.
-
Any other manager and we'd make some significant changes to our formation and XI for the rest of the season. Expect we'll see the same shite in a few days. Seems like most times RLC comes on we instantly look more dynamic and dangerous. Should start ahead of Kova for the rest of the season. I don't want to see Alonso again. I have tried hard to be patient with Higuain but he really has been exposed as the faded force he is. Once every few matches he has shown flashes of his former brilliance but he's wildly inconsistent and sloppy most of the time. Giroud deserves to start in the PL.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Just imagine ANY of our rivals deploying Alonso and Azpi as fullbacks. I can't! They're both totally ineffective going forward. How are professional footballers at a club like Chelsea this poor!?
-
Oh. My. Word. Alonso is horrific. Has to go in the summer as well.
-
He needs to go if we lose this.
-
Our rivals for the 4th spot have to be watching us and laughing. Actually, they've all probably dismissed us completely. We look miles behind the rest of the big boys.
-
We are utterly shit to watch. Makes me want to not even bother tuning in to the rest of our PL matches. I'll just watch the EL games depending on how this one goes.
-
Nevermind scoring, we don't even look like we can get into position to have a shot! Against arguably the worst side in the league. We honestly look like a club like Everton or West Ham.
-
This is Van Gaal-ball from his United days. Keeping the ball and doing fuck all with it. Slow and boring, players looking like they're sleepwalking.
-
Really though, Cardiff are abysmal. We should be beating them with our full second team. But yeah, I don't take anything as a given this season.
-
Imagine the reaction from the fans and media if we lose this with this team selection.
-
The most bewildering thing is that we are capable of playing great. We made Everton look like a pub team first half and should've been out of sight. But we then come out for the second half and calapse. AGAIN! For the umpteenth time this season. We have very good players in most areas and we have average players in several key areas. It's not the quality of players that's the biggest issue. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I feel like Mourinho would come in and improve us. Slight tweaks to player positions and greater confidence and we are a different side.
-
Fuck this fucking team.
-
Anthony Taylor is the worst ref in the league. Fucking PATHETIC what he's given our players bookings for.
-
Like someone said, exactly like Wolves. Totally dominate, one chance for the opponent, goal. Fucking terrible.
