Still insane and kinda fucked up that PSG were able to buy both Mbappe & Neymar for a combined 400m or whatever with basically no consequence. Just something about that that doesn't sit right with me. In fact, there's something about PSG in general I just don't like. Other than Mbappe they don't have a very likable team.

This is what I'm wondering most of all. Highly reputable people described in detail how Frank chatted with him about his role in the team and how personal terms AND contract talks were agreed like a month ago. So wtf has been going on since then? Haggling over a few million? If it's true that the club view him as a generation talent too good to pass up (like Matt Law said a few days ago) then we should have signed him up by now. At this point I'll be more relieved than excited if this happens. Getting annoying.

If we have t even made an offer yet... 😂😂😂 kill me

Him staying there for another season is the worst case scenario by far for Leverkusen, surely. Player may not be happy and motivated becasue by all accounts (and even according to their director himself) he feels like he has outgrown the club. They lose out on huge money that they'll likely only get this summer. And then worst of all Havertz will inevitably move to Bayern for a small fee and haunt them domestically for 10 years or more.
-
The Bundesliga season starts 1 month from today and the PL even sooner. You would think there would be some urgency from all parties to get this done ASAP. Bayer so they can have time to get replacements and us so we can hit the ground running in what will be a ridiculously quick turnaround from last season. If we leave it until Havertz is already back there training with Bayer I think there's no chance they sell him.
-
Think this is off. We would've heard some sort of progress by now if it was as close as all those guys said. Absolutely no news since Bayer went out over a week ago now. Makes me think that we were never actually serious about signing him to begin with and it was all fabricated media BS. There was probably interest in him but didn't go further than that after Bayer refused to budge on their valuation.

^ Yep. Kevin Palmer is a bullshitter who knows nothing.
-
Exactly. If there's one thing defenders hate it's pace. I don't think Timo will struggle early at all. Perhaps if he's thrown straight in as the CF it'll take some getting used to. But with Pulisic likely starting the season out injured I expect Werner will begin on the left. So he'll be able to unleash his pace and sprinting in behind from the off. And I don't know where this stuff about him not being "technical" is coming from. Have you watched him? Looks more than capable to me. He's not Neymar or Hazard on the ball but he is easily capable of dribbling defenders and playing in tight spaces. When I think of forwards who are not technical I think Lukaku/Tammy.
-
If we don't complete this over the next week I don't think it's happenening. It'll be a week from tomorrow since they went out of Europe and all the sources said things would kick on. No news since then. Maybe the only thing holding it up is what is mentioned above. Bayer want new faces through the door before letting Havertz go. Can't imagine what else would be taking so long.

City are the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde club. They can look utterly unstoppable and dominant one match and then look like jokers the next. I'd imagine Pep will take his frustration out on the transfer market and buy a couple hundred million worth of signings now. They need a new main striker. Jesus isn't close to Agüero's level and Agüero himself is injured all the time. Can see them bringing in Jimenez from Wolves who Pep admires.

Seeing as we're now 24 hours from those rumors yesterday with no confirmation from John Percy (Leicester go to ITK) or Matt Law or really anyone reputable I think we can safely call them bullshit. While it's pretty clear we're after him I doubt it's anywhere close to done.
-
4-1 comfortable City win
-
People need to remember that when Leicester were absolutely flying for much of the season Chilwell, like all of their players, was fantastic. Yes his level dropped off towards the end of the season but so did Maddison's, Soyuncu, everyone. They collapsed as a whole. So people should probably stop holding this last few months against him. The reported fee is ridiculous whether it's 65m or even higher, but seeing people shit on him and call him horrendous are idiots. He's a great talent who will only get better. He ain't a 28-29 year old finished product. Would I rather we sign Reguilon for a fraction of the price? Yes. But it's not like we'd be getting a shit player.
-
I just can't see it. In the season after this coming one yes.
-
And have the world's highest paid keeper on the bench? I think not.
-
Simon Phillips and Kevin Palmer are both just regurgitators of info from other random people. They don't know shit themselves. Wish we would stop posting their tweets as if they're ITK sources. Anyways, I see Bournemouth have just accepted a bid of nearly £20m for their keeper Ramsdale from Sheff United. Surely that means Dean Henderson is off. And I highly doubt he's going to go back and rot on United's bench. Could that mean we've quietly put a bid in?
-
Barca are in an absolute world of trouble, too. I think they have by far the highest wage bill in the world, nearly all of their mega money signings have failed, they can't spend big now due to the pandemic, their squad is filled with aging, past it players like Busquets, Pique, and Alba. And then ON TOP of all that they'll need a new manager AGAIN, plus Messi will be likely agitating for a move. They might just be in the worst position of any club in Europe. Chaos that would make Chelsea say yikes!
-
Coutinho may not want to show his face in Barca again. There might be a price on his head after this! 😂😂😂 Especially after the camera repeatedly showed him cheering and clapping for the Bayern goals. Then he comes on and smacks them.
-
Shit, at this point Messi may be tempted to finally leave. Let's bid for him! 😂
-
Yeah, I think this will be City's best chance yet to win it. If they can pin Bayern back and impose themselves they can score easily against them. City are vulnerable too of course, but you'd fancy them to go toe to toe with them in attack. And PSG are shit bottlers so if they get through Bayern I think they win it all.
-
This match gives me hope. Even the very best sides in world football are shocking defensively. If you have enough attacking firepower you can win everything. You just need to be able to defend at key moments. If Barca were sharp early in this one they could've scored 3 with simple play. Bayern are probably the best side in Europe and we're lucky not to concede 3 in the first half hour or so.
-
True. So long as Havertz comes in and we aren't paying 70 or 80m here then fine. Chilwell could well settle our LB position for 5+ years. But if we've given up on Kai and spunk the bulk our cash on Chilwell instead.....yikes!
-
If a Chilwell deal fucks with the Havertz deal I'm finding the nearest sturdy doorway arch and getting the noose ready. 😅
-
We've made some truly shocking buys in recent years. Bakayoko at least showed loads of promise and potential at Monaco and looked like the perfect player at the time to come in and partner Kante. Zappa was a last minute panic buy. The one that's most mystifying for me is DD. What on earth was our board thinking buying him and for £30+m at that... Then there was that set of 3 CB's (Hector, Djilobodji, Miazga) that were CLEARLY several levels below Chelsea quality we bought. My God, have we been shocking since the Cesc/Costa window. This one we're in now is the first great one we could have since 2014.

Nah, I'll agree with you on players 100% but there is absolutely racism when it comes to black managers. If there were 10-15 of them sprinkled around here and there I wouldn't say anything. But there are basically ZERO. For me that's not a coincidence.
