I mean, the lockdown here in the States has proven massively effective in flattening the curve in many places. We just have so many dumbasses who think their "freedoms" are being infringed upon by being told to stay home. It could be much, much worse than it is here and we're at 90k deaths. Not saying we should stay completely locked down until a vaccine is available, but we 100% should be still social distancing for months longer and not meeting whores in hotel rooms. Pjanic for Jorginho doesn't make sense for us. He's a great player but we need guys who are in or entering their prime rather than coming down from it.

Ben Chilwell had been awesome for much of the season and people were talking of a world record fee for a fullback. He had a few poor matches before corona and now you guys are acting like he's dogshit. I'd still have him in a heartbeat.

Liverpool signing another great attacking player is like City or Barca or Madrid signing another top attacking player. I just say "ah, who cares." They're already basically unstoppable in attack so what's Werner going to add other than depth? Just like when City signed Mahrez. It just means that they have a quality player to rotate. He doesn't make their first XI any scarier. If he went to Arse/Spuds/United then I'd be bothered because they'd be getting considerably better.

I also recall saying a few months back that if we are looking for a midfielder who just sits and shields the defense Rice would be a good buy. But if I remember correctly he kind of went off the boil before this whole coronavirus stuff. I think we could probably do better.

Struggling to think where Coutinho could even go if not here. I think someone like Arse or United would bring him in on loan if they fail signing their main targets. Otherwise he rots back on Barca's bench because they've given up on him. I'm still on board with us signing him.

Mertens only would've made sense had we bought him to replace Giroud in January and COVID-19 never happened. He would've been a suitable stopgap. Bringing him in for next season doesn't make sense in my opinion. We need a long term signing.

Like many British players before him, Grealish would get nowhere near the hype or attention were he any other nationality. He's a good, solid player right now but nothing more. I'd take Countinho over Grealish 10 times out of 10 if we are indeed interested. As has been mentioned, though, I haven't seen any of the usual English journalists linking us. Honestly, I'd happily have Coutinho here. Just about to turn 28 so still has a whole lot left in the tank and knows the league already. I know a lot of our fans want to avoid him but as long as he doesn't cost as much as all the rumours suggest I'd take him gladly. He's the kind of ultra-technical player we need. Willian and Pedro are off, Ziyech + Coutinho would be pretty massive upgrades.

Sit super deep, bore everyone to sleep, and play long balls into the channels for Daniel James or Martial to run down. They're keeping lots of clean sheets and have really turned their season around but fuck me they're awful to watch. Would be a travesty to see them finish above us.

City look like they're not bothered. You can tell this means nothing to them by their casual body language.

Whenever I just casually watch City they batter everyone and look even better than Liverpool. But when I really want them to win against one of our rivals they're either missing key players or Pep decides to smell his own farts by making massive changes. Of all the chasing pack United are easily our biggest threat ONLY because they're the only side who are consistent defensively. They can make a game extremely ugly and grind it to a halt. Then they hit you on the counter or a set piece. They play easily the ugliest football of anyone in the top half of the table but have a really solid defense so they can compete with anyone.

United have so many SHIT players but are always able to raise their game against the big teams.

Mason and Billy were fantastic, but it's Barkley who looked the most improved for me. Crazy how much better he looks when he's confident. Doesn't take an hour on the ball deciding what to do with it, dribbles past players with ease, and bombing forward with the ball with power. If he keeps this up he'll be a big asset in the run-in.

Would be delightful to see City batter United here and do us a big favor. But United are always good against the big teams under Ole and no KDB for City. This could go either way. Game is kinda meaningless for City who are now fully focused on the CL.
