  1. Just get it over with and move on to focusing on other targets.
  2. Still find it super unlikely that we sell Jackson. But if he does go to Italy I think he’d do extremely well there.
  3. Funny seeing the vast majority of United fans desperately wanting to avoid Nkunku whilst the vast majority of our fans want to avoid Garnacho.
  4. If that’s what we end up with we better pray Palmer regains his world class form and Delap hits the ground tearing it up. Because otherwise our attack is going to look like a real struggle out of the gate.
  5. I don’t really rate Gittens and don’t want him for the silly fee talked about. But at least with his skill set you can see what the thought process is. He’s a classic super speedy wide player who’s great 1v1 in space. You can watch his YouTube highlights and convince yourself that there’s something there and in the best case scenario he can become really valuable. But what’s this obsession someone at our club has with Garnacho? I watch highlights that are supposed to make anyone look awesome and I see nothing of particular note. Not super fast, not an amazing or tricky dribbler, not some guy who will overpower anyone, his end product is shit. And to top it all off he’s got serious attitude issues and a controversial brother who stirs shit off the pitch.
  6. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if we signed both. 🤦‍♂️
  7. Oh god, Garnacho talk again. Fuck.
  8. Gittens isn’t anywhere close to a £55m player, ffs. The offer we already made of £40m or whatever it was is already too much for him. The money Dortmund are asking for him is the kind of fee you pay for a top talent you are confident will become world class and whose value will shoot up massively. Gittens look like he could be Madueke V2. A decent squad player who has his moments of quality but is bang average 90% of the time.
  9. I think we all know who our next manager will be if Maresca is sacked. It’ll be Cesc assuming he stays at Como another season.
  10. Any time we play an opponent who presses high Sanchez instantly becomes a massive liability. And these days high pressing is becoming super common even for smaller clubs. With us, if you are aggressive with your press and force Sanchez to have to make decisions with his feet you have an excellent chance to get something against Chelsea. He’ll either kick the ball straight out of play trying to hit one of our fullbacks/wide players or he’ll do that same infuriating pass into midfield that the opposition always reads and instantly they’re through on goal. Those are his signature moves with the ball at his feet. Sanchez is adequate when we have 70% of the ball and are playing low block teams. That’s it.
  11. Liverpool about to make their 4th TOP class signing to add to a team that walked the league. All of whom go straight into their first XI and improve them. Meanwhile, complete dead silence from a club like ourselves who desperately need key additions. Nowhere near panic time as there’s a lot of window left but it’s just so frustrating that our club has known our dire weaknesses for ages and we still seem no closer to addressing them. And then you look at the two title favorites who have gone and rapidly filled just about every need they had with zero drama.
  12. No new keeper for us then. Stuck with Sanchez who will single-handedly cost us matches this season with terrible decision making.
  13. So we’re going to do fuck all for weeks while prioritizing Gittens as if he’s some superstar.
  14. I know we were linked by someone several weeks ago, but would it even be possible to convince Juve to sell Yildiz? Are they in financial trouble? Like what I see from him more than all of the other attacking players we’re linked with.
  15. What a fucking joke this goalkeeper situation is. “We’re happy with the keepers we have.” Fuck off. Maresca’s seemingly unshakable faith in Sanchez means that we’re essentially forfeiting any idea of challenging for the major trophies before a ball is even kicked. Saying you’re happy with Sanchez is saying you’re happy to be in a scrap for 4th or 5th again.
  16. Another day of complete silence. Tbh, outside of Liverpool & City it feels like the whole PL is doing fuck all right now. United, Newcastle, and Villa are shockingly quiet which I didn’t expect.
  17. I said during the game a few hours ago that Lavia (or I guess Santos or Essugo now) NEED to be on the pitch if Maresca is going to play Enzo so high up. The protection of Caicedo + another is needed to mask Enzo’s lack of mobility. Maresca wants to play him further up against small team who we can dominate then fine. But against teams like we saw today who press and run like maniacs he is an extreme liability who negatively affects everyone else around him.
  18. Sadly don’t think he’s suited to an intense league or an intense style of play. Fully believe he will be awesome for the right club in the right league.
  19. I think so as well. Sad to say because I really like him and was more excited for him than any recent signing. We need a technician in there next to Caicedo who is perfect in possession and can keep things simple and ticking over. A new Jorginho. We have our Kante regen with Moi but we need our J5 next to him.
  20. I’m gonna say something that is painful for me to admit, but I’m starting to question whether Enzo Fernandez is viable here long term. I really like him as a personality, his passion on the pitch, and at his best he’s great. But man, he just fails repeatedly in matches against opponents who are very aggressive and intense. On the ball he’s super careless with it and off the ball he’s so painfully slow that it looks like he’s running in cement boots. When he was at Benfica you saw him playing deeper as sort of that tempo controlling midfielder spraying it around and creating magical chances. We saw that initially when he moved here as well. I remember an early Liverpool game where he completely destroyed them single-handedly and ran the show. These days Maresca deploys him so high up that he is often seen pressing all the way to the keeper. For me he needs to play in an area where he has space and can see everything in front of him. Having him high up takes away his passing and vision when we’re attacking and it makes us super vulnerable when the ball is turned over defensively. It’s the exact sort of issue we had with both Fabregas and Jorginho at times. The difference with those guys was Cesc had generational passing skills and creative vision and J5 was immaculate with the ball and impossible to dispossess. Enzo is neither. For the first time ever I actually find myself wondering if we should listen to an offer if Madrid comes in for him as is rumored.
  21. It may take us getting embarrassed in this competition for these dopes in charge to bring in the necessary quality in super key positions. How many more times do they need to see shit like we saw from Sanchez or Nico Jackson today? Or Malo Gusto transforming from a mega promising and great buy 2 years ago to basically being unplayably poor now? We desperately need a top keeper, a couple of versatile attackers, and a defender who can ensure we never have to play James or Gusto out of position again. A CB wouldn’t hurt either.
  22. What I don’t get is how we went from looking like a slick, cohesive unit the first half of the season under Maresca where Palmer looked like the best player in the league and our attacking football flowed nicely and ever since Christmas time we look like a complete mess so often. Like we haven’t worked on attacking patterns or passing at all. He’s supposed to be from the school of Pep and yet we look more like a late stage Mourinho team. The difference in technical ability and comfort in possession between us and Flamengo was scary.
  23. Jackson, Gusto, Sanchez, Madueke. If we are going into next season still seeing these guys playing featured roles for us we aren’t making top 4. We need a serious injection of quality on the wing, at keeper, and stop playing Reece in fucking midfield.
  24. Playing players out of position repeatedly, playing players who have been woeful for months repeatedly, being unable to motivate the team to play with intensity to match opponents, and refusing to use guys like Andrey Santos at all. Serious questions need to be raised with Maresca. Playing this shit on a stick football is going to turn fans on him quickly if he doesn’t improve the team MASSIVELY and soon.
  25. Switching off. These players and the manager have been a joke today. I don’t care about the CWC but I at least wanted to see us look like a competent side. We instead look like a newly promoted team playing against prime Man City.
