  1. Burnley have probably the worst attack in the league and can barely score goals but they aren’t so easy to score against as you’d expect for a relegation area side. So this likely won’t be easy. But this is definitely, 100% not a game Lukaku should be starting. Burnley would love nothing more than to sit super deep against a static Lukaku with 2-3 CB’s surrounding him and trying to hit us on the counter. Think we should go with a quick attack. And personally think we should try Ziyech in the #10 spot rather than Mount with Havertz up top and Pulisic and Werner wide.
  2. The club acting more like a Liverpool or a Dortmund or even a Bayern in the transfer market may actually be a good thing. Identifying and signing players who are not hugely expensive but can be turned into superstars with great coaching. Every once in a while you make a huge money signing when needed. Look for top players who are either out of contract or have only a year left. A model that Bayern and Juventus have used for years. It’s imperative that Tuchel is satisfied and stays for the next couple of years at least during this transition.
  3. Many of these English pundits, journalists, and politicians just don’t seem to think that a person can change and evolve and that they ALWAYS have some ulterior motive even when trying to do good. Someone has a shady, questionable past? They’re evil forever. Someone donates huge sums of money to charity? They’re just trying to launder their reputation. No matter how much genuine good Roman did off the pitch these people will never give him credit. It’s really pathetic. People can acknowledge that someone is problematic without treating them as though they are evil incarnate.
  4. Are Russian’s being rounded up and exterminated like animals, then? Completely inappropriate comparison.
  5. Holding off opinions until we hear form this new consortium. The first thing they need to do after taking over is assure supporters that they intend to keep the team competitive at the very highest level. Which means committing to spending money on top class players.
  6. Is there any Arab state that has yet to dip into the football world? UK government and the football governing body is perfectly fine with them buying and owning PL clubs.
  7. I think they improve the squad significantly, if for no other reason than they bring something different to the table than our current players. And yeah, keeping Rüdiger is far from certain. Wish we’d just pay him what he wanted, ffs. He’s a top 5 CB in the world right now and deserves it. AC and Azpi are already most likely leaving. Silva is approaching 38 and who knows if he’ll continue to defy Father Time for another whole season. To lose Toni as well could be catastrophic. Going into a new season with such upheaval in the defense (which is the bedrock of our team) would be rough.
  8. Yeah, if the club can settle things fairly quickly I really don’t see things changing too much in the short term. Fans from rivals like Spuds and Arse laughing and saying that we’re going going to fall off a cliff to midtable are deluded. Bring back Broja and Gallagher, retain Rüdiger, sell a couple of players that aren’t working out, and make just 2-3 signings. It’s not like we’re at rock bottom like Newcastle were. I feel like the new owners need to do everything possible to keep things below them in place. At least initially so the club can tick over smoothly.
  9. Best we can probably hope for now is a bidding war ensues and someone with tens of billions comes in and is Roman Version 2.
  10. Seriously, though, Roman is being run out of town for his mere connection to Putin. He is not involved in any government or military capacity. He hasn’t supported or expressed support for this war. So why aren’t the English press and government aggressively going after the other ultra shady owners?
  11. Saul and RLC looked great. Werner improved second half. Reece looked like a man amongst boys when he came on. Other than that not much to write home about. Luton didn’t have a sniff in the second half so I assume Tuchel absolutely eviscerated the team during half time.
  12. Timo can’t control a football. UGHHHH 😩😩😩
  13. Players like Timo and Lukaku should be dominating and thinking about hat tricks against opposition this level. Instead they both look Championship standard at best.
  14. Timo looks hopeless, man. Just sad to watch such a player like this.
  15. Regardless of how shit our back 4 is here, a midfield trio of Mount, Saul, and J5 should be completely bossing this and barely allowing Luzon a sniff of the ball. Saul has been solid but the other two have been invisible.
  16. We really wouldn’t if fucking AC and Chalobah didn’t keep getting injured 50 damned times per season.
  17. Shocking half. Sarr is Bakayoko levels of catastrophic. Makes Zouma look like Thiago Silva on the ball. And his decision making is like a first time footballer.
  18. We finally woke up and started bossing the game and then some schoolboy defending from Sarr. Hes shite on the ball, too short for a CB, and is dumb as a rock. Nowhere near Chelsea quality.
  19. Malang Sarr is a horrendous footballer. Unreal.
  20. Luton players treating this like the CL final, ours treating it like we’re against some non league farmers. Being played off the park by Luton fucking Town.
  21. Shockingly terrible team selection producing a shockingly terrible performance. Who could’ve guessed? Nobody looks like they have a clue what they’re doing. RLC, Sarr, CHO, and Kenedy all playing out of position. Did TT think this was a free game? That we’d sleep walk through them?
  22. It’s insane. He’s insane. And I can’t imagine all of the dozens of oligarchs are happy with him totally destroying their businesses.
  23. Hope the new owner(s) keep some or most of the football people in place. Marina, Cech etc.
  24. No idea. Might be similar to Liverpool or United where “_____ Sports Group” owns the club rather than just one single individual.
  25. Yep. Like I said above, he’s all about star power and big, flashy buys apparently. The Dodgers are essentially the Real Madrid Galacticos of baseball along with the Yankees. Same with the Lakers.
