Was debating whether or not I’d even bother watching this. I will indeed start to watch but if Liverpool go up by a couple of goals I’m switching it off and avoiding Twitter for at least a couple of days.

Kante is still someone you want starting in a big match against a big team. Premier League or Champions League. Like, if we are playing against any of the other big PL clubs I would want a fit Kante in the XI. He is still capable of amazing single matches or run of a few matches just not for an entire season like he used to. For those reasons there’s no chance I’d sell him to United unless it was for a silly fee we couldn’t really say no to like £50m.

Borna Sosa should be the wingback target #1.

It’s pretty much a no brainer for him to choose Spuds over us if we were ever even interested. Worked with Conte, knows precisely what he wants, and will walk straight into their first XI. He would’ve been a backup here and he probably feels like he’s too good for that. Very solid signing for them, annoyingly. Like I’ve said previously, if Conte brings in 3-4 quality signings this summer he’ll probably feel like he can do some serious damage.

Spending big money on 3 CB’s in the same summer is overkill. Two + Colwill getting the Chalobah treatment (lots of game time though not a starter every match) should be good. Azpi, AC, and Rüdiger out, Koundé, Gvardiol, and Colwill in. We’ll then need a new wingback of some sort to replace Azpi and Alonso.

Not sure I could take another season of seeing Azpi get torched defensively, not be able to recover at all if someone gets by him, play terrible forward passes to nobody, and smack 5 crosses per match into the man defending him. I totally understand Tuchel loving his leadership and spirit but for goodness sake, he has been past it and finished at the elite level for 2 seasons now. Just let him go enjoy his final playing days in his sunny homeland. With as frequently as Reece picks up injuries we could once again be looking at having painfully poor Azpi playing dozens of matches. And that sever,y hampers our cutting edge in attack.

See our name has been linked with Pau Torres again. Personally, he doesn’t impress me at all. He looks like kind of a lanky, awkward CB who is a bit sluggish. He just screams average to me. Doesn’t feel Chelsea quality to my eyes. He looks nowhere close to as impressive as Gvardiol. Let United blow €50-60m on him. Has flop written all over him.

Because he’s on obscene wages. What I’m saying is that if he had reasonable wage demands there would be a queue a mile long for him. He’s not impossible for PSG to get rid of because of his declining ability, it’s because nobody else wants to pay him a million € a month or whatever insane salary he’s earning.

Neymar will always have resale value. He’s one of the 3 most famous footballers on the planet. He could come here and lose a leg and you’d still have clubs lining up to take him off our hands because he’d sell millions of shirts.

There were rumors a couple of years ago that he could go to Real Madrid. I could only see them as a possible destination. The only other clubs that could afford his wages are the Manchester clubs but City have zero need for him since they’re loaded in that area and United have (probably) learned their lesson about going for flashy names rather than players who fit their team.

Neymar strikes me as the kind of dude who is perfectly at peace collecting his mega wages in Paris and not having to exert himself much week in and week out. Doubt he’d want to come to the most challenging league to get kicked to shreds.

Sell Werner and one of Ziyech or Pulisic, buy Nkunku, and sign Dembele on a free. Much as I’d love to move Lukaku I don’t think there’s a chance of that. So yes, he’ll still be here. Between he, Nkunku, and Havertz that should be plenty of goals.

When our rivals will have Salah, Mané, Diaz, Haaland, Kane, Son etc I just don’t think we can afford having a raw, unproven kid playing a major role and learning on the job. If we already had a reliable 25 goal per season striker in our side and Broja was coming in strictly as a League Cup/FA Cup/squad player then fine. I don’t want us to have multiple unreliable forwards on the books again. We need killers not projects. For me he needs the Connor Gallagher treatment. Go to a smaller PL club and play every match. If he improves dramatically on what he showed at Southampton then he’ll be ready the next season.

Honestly think Broja should go out on another PL loan next season. See if he’s good enough for Chelsea or not. Didn’t show enough this season and we can’t really afford to let him learn on the job here.

Frenkie De Jong seems like a saga that will be CR7 in reverse. Everyone and their mother assumes he’ll joking ten Hag at United but I can see Guardiola really pushing to get him instead. Which will cause RedCafe to crash for a week. 😂

It’s pretty well known that he has improved massively since then. He was just a teenager when he burst onto the scene so of course he was overhyped. He has turned himself into a great player in France. I’m not saying we should make him our priority but if other options are off the table or we are priced out we could do a lot worse than Sanches.

Love Bellingham but he’s nothing like Rice. He’s a #8 whereas Rice is a #6. With Kova, Gallagher, Kante, and even Mount I think we’re set for the long term in that more advanced, ball carrying midfielder role. We need a DM.
