We keep seeing conflicting reports on whether Roman has a say on the next owner. If he does have a say I would hope he wouldn’t sell to the cheap Ricketts family whose Chicago fan base hates them for not spending any money. If he doesn’t have a say then it’ll likely come down to who can kiss this conservative governments ass the hardest. Which will probably be Ricketts…. 😒 Help us Boehly-Wan Kenobi. You’re our only hope.

Either Woody Johnson or the Ricketts family would be the end of Chelsea as a consistent force at the highest level. We will become an Arse or a Spuds entering every season with an outside hope of 4th place if everything goes right and someone else has a poor season. Any of the other consortiums I have more faith in.

That’s a surprising XI. There’s a break after this game, right? Thought he would go all out with our strongest XI. I don’t mind the team apart from Sarr. We know Boro will try to come out and really pressure us with the crowd behind them and Sarr makes loads of mistakes when you press him.

Boehly’s group seems to have by far the most comprehensive package from those we know publicly. They seem to be coverage every base. I’d be genuinely shocked if it isn’t them at this point.

Arse are definitely annoying at this point but I think they’ll certainly be dropping more points going forward than we will.

Wonder how long it’s going to take to sort through everything and I wonder if Roman still has the final say in who wins. His assets are technically frozen rather than seized, right? So Chelsea FC still actually belongs to him but he just can’t access the proceeds?

Think it’ll end up being the Boehly group but I’m still holding out just the faintest hope for the Saudi’s just for the meltdowns everywhere and for the guarantee that we will remain at the very top forever. But of all the American groups I think Boehly’s is the best by far. I’d be cautiously optimistic under that ownership. We may not be in the running for the very, very top echelon signings for £100m, but he will understand that investing in top players is necessary.

If Reece is back fit and we can actually have fans in the ground I’ll be confident. City and Liverpool should comfortably sail through to the semi’s. Was really hoping they’d draw one another and Real Madrid would draw Bayern to make our road back to the final much easier.

My memory is fuzzy at this point, was there such a massive frenzy to buy Arse, Liverpool, or United when they changed hands years ago? It’s crazy how everyday now we’re seeing some other group throw their hat in the ring. There was so much talk just last week about someone perhaps getting a cut-price deal since we were in such a hurry to sell. But damn, there are loads of party’s that are still willing to pay multiple billion dollars for the chance to own our club. That should bode well for our future prospects. Someone who wants us that badly will want to invest in the squad.

Hope the new ownership isn’t chosen based on sentimental connection to the club. Are Broughton and Coe rich enough to spend and keep us at the top? Or might they be preferred just because they’re English and Chelsea supporters?

Just hope we avoid Bayern and one of City or Liverpool draw them.

If we can get Reece back and he STAYS back we could do some damage in the CL again. Without him it’ll be a massive struggle if we draw a quality attacking team.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Kante and Jorginho both have such poor games before.

When we aren’t playing fast breaking football with Alonso receiving the ball whilst sprinting he is USELESS. Just like playing with 10 men.

Azpi and Alonso are so past it defensively. Lille can smack in crosses whenever they wish.

Very fortunate moment of class in an otherwise horrible first half. Just extremely frustrating that we’ve started with 3 in midfield and yet cannot string together 3 passes in the middle of the pitch before losing it. They press our midfielders and they cough it up over and over again. And therefore there is zero link up to our 2 forwards. This is an issue we have whenever ANY team, even those in the bottom half of the PL, press us and force us to play the ball quickly.
