What sucks even more for them is that there’s no Plan B superstars out there as a consolidation prize for Madrid. They’ve been planning for Mbappe for years now. Probably Haaland, too. Now unless Salah decides to leave Liverpool or some young talents decide they want to go there they’re fucked pretty soon since all their important players are old as hell.

That’s a dreadful decision from Mbappe. Totally wasted playing in a league nobody cares about for a club that choke season after season in Europe. The club probably figured it was a mere formality that he’d eventually renew his contract. Like most Chelsea supporters, they must’ve been thinking that since he was such a leader and captain-like on the pitch and that he clearly loved the club it would be easy to convince him in the end. Much like Christensen actually when everyone and their mother was saying everything was agreed with him and he was in the verge of signing.

He is short for a CB but he’s super powerful. He’s built a lot like Reece James. I wouldn’t be worried about his corner defending ability. Would be nice for our other CB buy to have some height, however. Though if we buy Gvardiol he’s not tall, either.

Genuinely wouldn’t be bothered if we did cut our losses. Truly the only attacking mids I’d keep no questions asked are Mount and Kai. CP, Ziyech. CHO, Werner are all poor. All could go and I’d be happy.

Kind of incredible to think we finished 3rd and are in need of a HUGE overhaul. Usually you finish 3rd and use it as a building block or something to look forward to. We need to change like 60% of our team in one summer. You’d say to yourself “we’re 2-3 sighing’s away from competing.” But no. We’re nowhere near taking a step up. We have dire needs all over the pitch. Multiple CB’s, multiple goal scoring attackers, multiple fullbacks for depth, and a top class midfielder. Meanwhile, whilst we’re simply trying to catch up to the level the top 2 are at currently, they’ll only be getting better. Sucks to say it before we’ve even seen what sort of business we’ll do, but I think next season may be yet another “transition” season where we’ll be battling for 3rd or 4th MILES behind City and Liverpool.

I think Pulisic gets a bit more leeway than those you’ve names because we’ve seen that he’s capable of scoring spectacular goals and he’s capable of being unplayable in space when he’s sprinting at defenders. He’s just ridiculously inconsistent like every other attacker in our team.

I’ve been in denial all season because I’ve been too sad to admit it, but this will be the first time I have to put my hands up and say Kante has regressed. He just looks like he’s lost a step or two. Late in the tackle here and there, slower on the ball making decisions, being unaware of a player closing him down. These are things that would’ve been unheard of with him a couple of years ago. He’s still capable of incredible one off performances but the every match, 9/10 performances appear to be done.

I guess with this referee you’re simply not able to make ANY contact with a Leicester player. This is a no contact match apparently.

I know @Vesper is really down on Koundé, but I think it’ll be a good buy. I also wavered a bit on him but seeing what Tuchel has done to all of our CB’s I trust that he’ll turn Koundé into a beast as well. Hope he isn’t our only CB signing. Gvardiol has the look of a future world class player so I hope there’s truth there and we get him, too. Koundé, Gvardiol, and Borna Sosa as our 3 defensive signings and we’ll have done EXTREMELY well. Three players who are excellent on the ball, super athletic and quick, and will allow us to play more exciting football.

Seems pretty dumb for us to even be linked with a striker until we know what’s going on with Timo and Rom. This is why the Lewa rumor makes so little sense. Our name seems to be thrown around in connection with him because people just assume that Lukaku is gone. But they don’t even suggest where he could go.

It’s something we should be doing as well. Without a single guy pumping his personal fortune into the club any longer we should be the smart club that exploits the free agent market much more. Lot of very good players there. Likewise with players in the last year of their contracts.

I mean, if he wants that PSG would probably be desperate enough to give it to him. May as well stay.
