With Colwill coming into his own and reports that he absolutely has a future here, it’ll be interesting to see what happens since he and Badiashile have the same profile as smooth left rotted CB’s and each are around the same age. If we become a back 3 side for good then they can play in the same defense. A back 3 of Fofana, Colwill, and Badiashile could be our CB group for a LONG time. Even if we are a back 4 team going forward we’ll need 4 quality CB’s in the squad so Levi should be kept anyways.

You mean Pedro Porro? Sporting want £45m for him, right? That’s way too much for us to spend on someone to cover for Reece. Plus, I think Porro is way too good to be on the bench more often than not. Tbh, Dumfries is probably too good to be sat on the bench as well and will cost more than we should be looking to play.

Loaning out any underperforming players would be stupid. We need to get rid of them for good. If Ziyech goes someone on loan and continues to look average then he’ll be even harder to sell down the road. Which could in turn hinder us in pursuits for other players. We can’t have more Bakayoko/Drinkwater/Kenedy situations where shit players go out on loan, stink up the place, and then they’re stuck on our wage bill for years providing zero value. Sell Pulisic, sell RLC, sell Ziyech, let Jorginho walk on a free in the summer. That would be a hefty chunk of change off our books.
-
Signing ANTOHER winger after already signing Mudryk would be nonsensical unless he is sent back on loan to PSV until the summer when BOTH Pulisic and Ziyech are moved on.
-
So are Russian players just forever trapped in that league because of something they may totally disagree with and not support?
-
The issue we will still have by just replacing Jorginho with Caicedo, though, is we’d still have the same creativity issues from midfield. But I guess perhaps with Caicedo in the team he frees up Kova or whoever is next to him to focus more on getting forward without worrying about helping J5 defensively.
-
More footage I watch of Caicedo the more I’m coming around on him. Got a bit more about him on the ball than I thought he did.
-
If the choice is between Enzo and Rice it’s not even a question that I’d have Enzo. But if it’s Rice or Caicedo that’s tougher for me. Especially if Rice isn’t going to cost 100m anymore due to West Ham struggling so much.
-
Rice seems like the exact opposite of what you’d typically consider an Arse player. Really can’t picture him in that shirt.

Not a chance we should sell Gallagher to any PL club who could potentially compete with us in future league seasons. So that should 100% rule Newcastle out. If he at some point really pushes to leave and it’s Palace or some other perennial bottom half side then I’d reluctantly take a big fee. But to see him at his top level at another top 4 competitor would be terrible. RLC I’d drive to Newcastle myself. For me he is right now what he will always be, sadly. Someone who shows flashes of brilliance but is merely average 80% of the time. Doesn’t have the mentality or desire to realize his huge talent. Ziyech I’d be fine seeing the back of but would be weary about selling within the league.
-
Caicedo now with the idea that a more creative, more well rounded midfielder comes in in the summer as his long term partner I’d be good with. Caicedo as our only midfield signing whilst extending Jorginho and I don’t like the move. I don’t know. If we were never linked with Enzo to begin with and we didn’t have concrete evidence that he really wanted to come I’d probably be delighted with Caicedo. But now I can’t help but be disappointed in him because Enzo is clearly superior and if it ends up being an either or between the two we chose wrong.
-
Still yet to be credibly linked to a RB. We’re being linked to loads of players in positions we’re completely stacked in but not the one area we need most. Both the attack and defense will be severely handicapped so long as we are forced to repeatedly play Azpi or Trev out there.
-
Trossard definitely feels like the kind of signing we’d have made in years past. A pretty good but not great player who won’t pull up trees and we’ll struggle to move on because he’ll soon be 30 and on big wages. Like I said yesterday, now that we’ve brought in Fofana, Felix, and Mudryk we’ve refreshed the attack enough for this window. Don’t buy another forward who isn’t our ideal target just for the sake of it.
-
I’m actually not sure we’d sell him for that unless he himself pushes to go.
-
He’s one of the most impressive talents I’ve seen in a long time so I’d love him at Chelsea, but it would surprise me if we still pull the trigger. Probably after a different profile of midfielder.
-
Do we really need the Russian kid anymore? where would he play?
-
True. Liverpool as a whole are in a really bad place both defensively and in midfield this season according to their supporters. So a lightning quick, direct attacker like Mudryk should thrive against them in theory.
-
The longer the game went on today the worse Jorginho looked. And he wasn’t exactly doing much to start with. And now confirmation that Zakaria will be out for more than a month. I imagine the noise about us bringing in a midfielder will heat up substantially this week. If we had signed Enzo we could be making a real go of it with all these new signings. At least made those competing for that 4th spot sweat.
-
It’s got to be either extreme fatigue after all the football he’s played over the past year or his contract situation is weighing on him. He’s an absolute shadow of the player we’ve seen for the last few years.
-
Mase needs to be benched for a run of several games now. Please. We have 3 new attacking players and can afford to let him rest. He’s a total passenger out there and looks completely detached from the game.
-
Thiago Silva is so ridiculously good. Should not be possible to still be the best defender in the toughest league in the world at nearly 40 years old. He’s insane. Need to offer him a new 2 year contract. He doesn’t rely on pace at all so that’s not even a concern as he gets a year or two older.
-
KK comes in and immediately dives in rashly and misses the ball….
-
Cucu not only replaced in the first XI by a teenager and now can’t even come in for him as a sub? Man….
-
Ayew is such an annoying fucking player to go against. He doesn’t ever really score but his holdup play is unreal. It’s almost impossible to get the ball off of him.
-
Havertz has been subpar for sure but Mount in particular has been abysmal ALL SEASON and yet still gets picked every game regardless. Wtf is wrong with him, I wonder? Even if he was going through scoring droughts in recent years he was at least a positive force in the attack. He is an active hindrance to the team this season. We need to drop him, move Connor further up the pitch in his place, and get Kova on.
