Yeah, I actually do think Morata is a great comparison. Strikers that have all the talent but don’t really apply it on the pitch consistently enough to be elite. Like Morata, when he’s in top form you think “wow, he’s amazing,” but then he can look like a donkey a lot of the time.

Lukaku walking into the Bridge to face the Chelsea fans after everything he’s said and done:
-
As if some Italian rag would know what’s going on with Caicedo or Chelsea. 🙄
-
Hopefully PSG move swiftly then. Get Lukaku to Juve and wash our hands of him once and for all.
-
Yeah, the idea of Vlahović coming the other way is really the only way I can see this being resolved quickly now. Unless Lukaku suddenly accepts a Saudi offer. The day we bin this cancerous dude we should all celebrate.
-
So once again PSG could possibly fuck us over by either slow walking their interest in Vlahovic or just not going for him at all and then Juve couldn’t afford Lukaku. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
Lukaku just betraying everybody! 🤣

We’ve received such an absurd amount of cash from player sales that I just cannot understand why Caicedo is taking so long. We could literally take the money from Havertz and Pulisic alone and pay for Caicedo in full. It isn’t as if we’re on a shoestring budget where we have to desperately break up the fee into 8 tiny installments. These rival clubs like Liverpool, United, and City may be keeping their distance for the time being but the longer we fuck around negotiating the higher the chance of one of them saying “you know what, why not just pay what Brighton want?” City have already shown that they’re willing to put mega money on the table for a midfielder with Rice. They ain’t just gonna not go for someone else. Liverpool could unexpectedly receive £50-60m from Saudi for Fabinho and Henderson. They could quite easily take that money, add £25-30m and get Caicedo who I’m sure would be perfectly happy to play under Klopp and reunite with his former teammate Mac Allister. I mean, how fucking embarrassing would it be now for us to have negotiated for months (dating back to when we wanted him in January) only to see him go to a direct rival instead?
-
I mean yeah, if those were the only two options than I’d rather just wait to go for another striker.
-
Not many options. Even though he’s not an outright striker I kinda warmed up to the idea of Dybala but that rumor died almost instantly.
-
I don’t even need a PL proven one at this point. Just a striker who has been reliably scoring goals for a big club (thus knowing how to cope with the pressure) and won’t need months to settle.
-
Tbh, I’m more concerned about the reporting from multiple journalists suggesting that the club isn’t even sure we’ll be targeting another striker this window. Going a whole season with just Jackson and Broja as natural strikers with Nkunku as a makeshift one is so risky for a side that struggled more than any other to score goals last season. That’s 2 players who have zero PL experience and 1 with very little and only at a small club. If we aren’t going to sign another forward we at least HAVE to sign an attacking mid who can create a shit load of chances, assists, and chip in with a few goals.

This shit is hilarious. Lukaku has to be the all time biggest asshole in football. He seems like an absolute headcase. Inter is the club that have completely rehabilitated your reputation and “made” you. Now he spits in their faces? Perhaps he wasn’t happy that Inter kept starting old ass Edin Dzeko instead of him? Whatever. Don’t give a shit where he goes so long as he does go. I never want to hear about Lukaku again after this window. Hard to feel any sympathy for Inter after they’ve dicked around for weeks putting in silly lowball bids. This was the risk they took. Some other club may turn his head and it looks like that’s the case.

Matt Law saying Auba will turn up to Cobham on Monday if his future doesn’t get resolved this weekend. Of all the footballers linked with Saudi this summer I would’ve thought Auba was the MOST likely to jump at the chance. He’s a super flashy dude, loves the celebrity lifestyle, drives a chromed out Ferrari amongst other cars. I would’ve thought that he’d be desperate for the chance at a cushy mega contract over there to end his career. He’s 34, ffs. I don’t know why he’s putting his foot down and refusing to go. No top European club is going to pay his wages.
-
My guess is that he isn’t going to play on the left for them. He’s probably competition for the #10 area. Because as you suggest, he ain’t starting over Leáo. And he wouldn’t hop from our bench to another club without being assured that he’ll be a key starter.
-
True, but they’ve been actively working on the Rice deal for weeks whilst also negotiating with us for Havertz and with Ajax for Timber. Our other business meanwhile feels like it’s being held up by this Caicedo deal and we can’t do anything else until it’s resolved.
-
I see the monthly Neymar rumors are spreading on Twitter again… 🙄
-
If only a reliable outlet reported this…
-
Going into the season with Enzo and Caicedo as our only two first XI quality midfielders would be a recipe for disaster. We’d be one serious injury to either of them away from finishing midtable again. It simply can’t happen. We need 2 new midfielders.
-
Fabinho looked dead on his feet last season. Liverpool fans were complaining about how shit he was nonstop. To get £40m for him is mad and I’m sure Liverpool fans who cried about us selling to Saudi will suddenly be cheering this and Henderson going there and helping their rebuild. In other Saudi news, looks like Jordan Ayew is moving there, too. A player that was always super annoying to play against so I’d love this. Even when he wasn’t scoring against us he was just a pain in the ass with his holdup play and drawing fouls.
-
That #7 looks absolutely horrible on him. And this isn’t just me being salty that he’s in a United shirt. Seeing someone who isn’t a tricky, explosive wide player wearing that number just looks wrong. From the club he chose to force himself to, to the number he decided to take knowing the history it carries there it truly does feel like a move solely to grow Mason Mount the brand rather than what was best from a football perspective. He thinks about himself as and is trying to further become someone who reaches beyond the football pitch like his new teammate Rashford. He wants to be a celebrity who is in fashion ads and commercials for Nike or Adidas. All the more reason I’m not bothered at all that he’s gone. If we sign a new #10 type we’ll forget about Mount within a few months.
-
True, but I feel like the minimum/sweet spot we should sell at is £35m. Then we wash our hands of him forever.
-
£25m for Lukaku when you’re receiving 50-60m for your keeper is pretty laughable.
-
So after like 5 seasons straight of being linked with a move away to every big club under the sun, Milinkovic-Savic finally leaves Lazio. To go to Saudi to never be seen or heard from again. It’s going to take some real getting used to seeing under 30nplayers in their prime going to that league.
-
Something has to be wrong behind the scenes on the commercial side, man. Struggling for months to even get a sponsor at all and now we’re asking for peanuts for it? Aren’t our big club PL rivals all getting paid almost twice this for their shirt sponsorships? What are we doing?
