I am sure we DO have 20 England youth Internationals to be honest, lots of top young talents in our academy. What this article is doing is twisting facts, yes we are offloading some young players. And rightly so, those young players are not going to make it with us! We also have half a dozen players in and around the first team - more around than in but still.........
-
Yes you DO need to buy Scolari!! We need some new players in pretty desperately in key attacking positions. I am sure he knows that, but he clearly is not being given any money this month to make any changes! Which does make you worry about what is going to be available in the summer.

Bit of a rubbish article if you ask me! Sahar's travels have been well documented. Nielson has been discussed about moving on for a while as he has not had the impact many would have hoped for. Ferreira is 100% certain to move on and Fernandes too hasn't hit the expected heights though he has suffered with serious injuries. Not too sure why Vincenzo Camilleri is being discussed about moving on, maybe he hasn't been able to settle in this country. So all these players and their movements are NOT out of the ordinary. Just another article trying to stir up some s**t.

Investment is what we need now! We need to really rebuild now. Is Scolari going to stay past 3 seasons? If not then may be we should look at a FULL rebuild for the future. We need young hungry players, we have some in our own bloody house that are never played, Mancienne, Di Santo, Sinclair, Stoch, Bertrand. Would any of those youngsters serve up anything worse than the dross we are watching at the moment?

Absolutely bloody awful!!!! Shocking performance, our squad is poor now, we don't have the squad to set out in any formation now! Malouda is the one who will fix that aparently, well that sums up where we are if you ask me. We need a complete overhaul of our squad in the summer because it is all wrong! Too many players coming to the end of their usefulness, others not putting the effort in! The board need to have a good hard look at this squad and see it needs re-vamping. It's certainly time we stopped playing all of Mikel, Lampard, Ballack and Deco together because of their names!!
-
No creation, no pace. Just Pass, pass, pass - dead end! Time and time again. We need to sort this out fast, cant see where a goal for us will come from. United playing Evans at Centre back and we have no pressure on him, Anelka and Drogba should have started. How many times do we have to conceed until we put men on the posts for corners!
-
Team: Cech Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, A.Cole Mikel, Lampard, Ballack, Deco, J.Cole Drogba No idea what formation he thinks we are going to play, Deco isn't a winger and Joey Cole isn't a striker. Once again making the mistake of trying to get all of our midfielders on the pitch, god help us when Essien is back!

I agree, there is little point holding onto him if he isn't going to get a game. If he isn't even going to start against Southend then i think he isn't likely to get much game time during the period where he will be representing his country.

Chelsea youngster Franco di Santo is locked in a battle of wills with Luiz Felipe Scolari over the Argentine’s desire to represent his country. The striker has infuriated the Chelsea boss by insisting he wants to play in the South American Under-20 Championship, which starts on January 19. However, Scolari is not willing to let the youngster join Sergio Batista's squad because of the shortage of strikers at Stamford Bridge. “I spoke to Scolari and he told me that he wouldn’t let me go,” Di Santo told Argentine television yesterday. “There are only three strikers in the squad: Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and me, and he told me that he needs me to stay in London.” The Argentine football federation hopes Fifa will insist that Chelsea allow Di Santo to travel, and reports in Argentina suggest national coach Diego Maradona will attempt to convince the club to allow him to play. “It makes me proud that Maradona is interested in my case,” said Di Santo. The 19-year-old said Chelsea captain John Terry was also in support of his cause. “I spoke to John Terry a couple of times in the last couple of days and he said I was right to go and play. “He said I’m only on the bench and need to get minutes in the team so I get noticed. “I’m always on the bench, I’ve only played eight games this season, always coming on in the last ten or 15 minutes.” Source: Setanta

Conceding goals is something that we should be looking. But more importantly for me is for us to score more! We have been dominating games and scoring 1 goal at most and then have been unable to get any more! We need to start putting more chances away or conceding goals late on and dropping points is inevitable.
-
It is crazy that it is still untried! Even against Southend he didn't give it a run out! With the lack of quality wingers we have at the moment playing 2 strikers is an absolute must to be able to score the goals to win us the games we have not been winning of late!

Do you think we need to buy in the January transfer window?
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Couldn't agree more! Wingers are our problem at the moment, Malouda and Kalou are not performing consinstantly enough. Scolari seems completely unwilling to try our young wingers (Sinclair, Stoch and even Kakuta) even though these players are underperforming. To play the 4-3-3 with any real effect the wingers need to be top class, and you are right, since Robben and Duff we have slowly gone further and further downhill. -
But if our fullbacks are stopped from going forward then we have no width! But i do think we should be playing 2 up front no matter what the formation is behind just to have that extra cutting edge infront of goal where we are lacking at the moment.
-
Yes you can play Joe Cole on the left, but then who do you play on the right? Kalou i don't think would be ideal as a wide player in a 4-4-2 which i assume is why Scolari is bemoaning having Malouda out! But if Scolari sees Malouda as the solution then we are in deep trouble!!!!!
-
I don't think sacking him is the answer! It is clear he WANTS to add to his squad to get them playing the way he wants! He should be given time but he should also be given money to build a better squad!

EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Of course we need to buy, the whole world can see that we are lacking at least 1 new winger. We need to start looking to bring in more players like Di Santo, young top prospects who won't cost the earth in wages - and when we have them, actually play them!!! Our squad definately needs a revamp with some young fresh eager blood in it! Yes we have world class players and top names, but those players are getting on now and more to the point are not performing! -
No matter what Deco says, he IS favoured by Scolari! If he player is not performing then he needs to be dropped or at least brought off. When you are trying to kill off a game or chase a result the worst thing to do is leave someone on who is clearly not having an impact and bring off someone who is. Either Deco needs to up his game or Scolari needs to have the balls to drop him.

Great to see Mikel being offered a new deal, he is becomming a vital player in our team, although i would be suprised if the figures being quoted are correct.

Drogba & Anelka Aren't Gelling At Chelsea
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Depends where you read this story depends on the slant you get. They are working on their partnership in training and i think it is now time for them to give a go from the start in a match. -
For 3 in midfield with everyone fit i would have to pick Mikel, Essien and Lampard. Which for me would be our most dynamic midfield.
-
Foreign young players take time to settle in, Borini did struggle a bit last season but this season he has been flying and is becomming a quality striker, him and Nouble are fighting it out to score the most goals.
-
Not a bad draw at all for us i think. Will be interesting to play against Ranners. Some big draws in there thats for sure. Hope Jose does Man Utd!
-
He will only be played when 100% ready. We have no need to rush him back. Alex and Ivanovic are more that able replacements. It will be good to have in the new year a fully fit squad to have a good crack at all the competitions we are left in.
-
It definately time for us to have a massive strike partnership at Chelsea again, and i think Anelka partnered with Drogba can be just that. He has been impressive this season, and the comments from Grant go some way to explaining Anelka struggling a little last season. This season right from the word go under Scolari in Pre Season right through to now he has worked hard and been scoring plenty of goals along the way.

Fabio Borini needs to learn how to finish? The lad has been knocking them in for fun this season: Frank Nouble hasn't really played as a winger this season. He has been playing as centre forward, and like Borini has been banging them in. His speed and ability on the ball means he can play as a winger, but without doubt his best position is centre forward and he is relishing that role this season.
