  1. UEFA Don't like the foreign ownership of clubs. I don't know for sure but i don't think there are many clubs outside of England with foreign ownership. To be honest UEFA are not really sure what they like and don't like, they pretty much make it up as they go along.
  2. I think it was for tax purposes. I don't think you will get too many people feeling sorry for football clubs, if people can't afford shirts or season tickets!
  3. Well i am sure it will affect football sooner or later. But i think it is funny the way, when talking about football club debts that we are lumped in the same bracket as Man you, Liverpool ect... their owners took out BANK loans to finance their purchases, they own money to banks, which is why they are in such a dangerous position. While any "loan" we have (if that is what you can call it) is purely with Roman.
  4. The players just wouldn't get the playing time in the PL, they won't be willing to take risks on these players when survival is at stake for them. Loans to the champsionship is perfect, they get games, competitive football and a step up from the reserves. To show just how important these loan spells are to the players, loan periods in the Championship have earned places in the England U21's squad for Mancienne, Bertrand and Cork!
  5. Di Santo and Sinclair are getting their chances. It is unrealistic to think of them as regular starters, a dozen apperances would be a good return for them. Also we are unlikely to see players breaking through at Chelsea at 17, 18, 19 for us it will be once they hit 20/21 that they will have had loan spells, time with the first team and really ready to break through.
  6. Well that was incredibly frustrating. Cluj were so tight to every player they were literally sharing a shirt! And then when we tried to get in their faces they were dropping like flies. Very frustrating. Having said that we still should have had the quality to open them up enough to score just 1 goal, another example of where we seriously miss Deco.
  7. With Essien, and more than likely Drogba also now being the only long term injuries we are not in a crisis yet! But it is a tough time for us with all these injuries thats for sure.
  8. Yup your right, Paim will get no-where near the first team this season. He shows promise though and if he can progress then i can see us keeping him on. Sinclair will be eligable for the "A" list as a homegrown come January. We need him as a squad memeber, especially with the small squad we have.
  9. Hmm a team from transylvania!! Has the one been done about their keeper not liking crosses yet? Roma got stunned by Cluj, hopefully we have enough quality to be able to take the game to Cluj without getting complacent.
  10. I would hope that Pearce has been misquoted somewhere because he would be pretty stupid to say something like that. Especially considering we currently have 2 players in his U21's team (Mancienne and Bertrand) and plenty more England internationals down the age groups. If he is basing this whole assessment of Chelsea on SWP then he is a even bigger plum!
  11. I don't think we can afford to let him go, we have 3 wingers, Cole, Kalou and Malouda! We need Scott around to be cover and take his chances when they come to him. I think it would be better for him to stay with us now - being that 4th choice winger is exactly what he needs.
  12. Compatriot of Miroslav Stoch and was a very lively and exciting player in the FA Youth Cup Final. Would be a very good aquisition if we could manage to sign him..
  13. Well that would cause problems. With Cole and Kalou out that will leave us with only Malouda as a wide man for Cluj. Sinclair isn't in the CL squad so can't be used which will mean that he will have to use Belletti more than likely in a wide position. Lets hope we can get one of them back ASAP and we don't have this problem for longer than 1 game.
  14. Fantastic result, especially considering we managed to rest some players and give some other players valuable gaming time. It wasn't the greatest performance, a lot of stray passing. Put overall very pleasing. Would have liked to have seen Sinclair and Di Santo given more minutes on the pitch considering the circumstances.
  15. Now that is fantastic news!!! I would like to see something like this tonight: ..........................Cudicini............................. Ferreira........Ivanovic.......Alex...............Bridge Kalou.............Mikel........Ballack............Sinclair ....................Drogba.....Di Santo................... Subs: Cech, Terry, A.Cole, Lampard, Tejera, Stoch, Anelka It would be extremely interesting to see how Stoch would fair in the first team.
  16. Will be interesting to see what side he does put out. He said he would put out all his best players if they were available, so i am not sure what that means for the likes of Di Santo, Sinclair and Ivanovic - hopefully they will get a start because they are still top quality players.
  17. Oh dear! That will upset the spammers for sure. Incidently why is it that the Tevez move to Man you is above board but wasn't at wet spam? I thought the rule was to do with third party ownership, well Man you are technically loaning from that Joorabchian chap arn't they? Because it isn't from West Ham or any other club i am sure.
  18. Not exactly a fair comparison if you ask me. Both are completely different types of centre back with completely different qualities. But they compliment each other so well and make the perfect pairing.
  19. To be honest it does look like a fake. Plenty of things not quite right with it...
  20. Yup very true. I was also very suprised at how deep man you were sitting and the ammount of numbers they had back too. Made it very difficult for us to get through, especially without Deco. Like the spuds game it was a game we should have won, we had plenty of those last season that cost us, lets hope we can rectify it and not suffer again this season.
  21. Both players are a big blow. Deco has been vital to us playing better in the final third and it showed that we missed him yesterday. Carvalho is fantastic but Alex stepped up brilliantly. 3 key players out at the moment now, we certainly don't want to see any more thats for certain.
  22. I thought Man you were flying in quite a bit with their tackles. It wasn't the dirtiest game i have ever seen but they were also being very petulant. Neville was lucky Ballack is very honest or he would have been off for sure! Overal i would say Man you's yellows were pretty much fully deserved.
  23. A frustrating game for sure. Overall we did well and dominated United, we had them on the back foot for the majority of the game but we were lacking in the final third, our descisions and our finishing when we got near their goal was pretty poor and we should have done better and taken our chances and won that game. Man you showed their petulance again and no big suprise it is not being picked up on, we missed Deco big time. Mikel and Alex were the stars of the show, Mikel seems to get better and better and Alex showed why he is probably the best back up centre back in European football.
  24. Both injuries are worrying, they are key players for us and we certainly missed Deco although Alex came in for Carvalho and was excellant.
  25. Surely it is too early to tell if he will back early or not, he has only just had the operation. Lets hope he does make it back ahead of schedule though because we will need him.
