I have a feeling we will get the spurs in the final. I think we can win this game though with that team and be able to progress to the final without too much fuss. I would hate to got to extra time or have a tight end to the game.
-
It pretty much limits us to there being only 1 possible team we could put out: ....................Cech....................... Belletti....Alex........Carvalho....Bridge J.Cole......Maka.....Ballack.....Malouda ............Anelka.......Pizzarro............. Should be enough still to get us through to the final, but if we pick up another injury we are f**ked.

At the end of the day all the club sees is how many seats they have sold. Attendance is not an issue at the moment so there isn't much chance of ticket prices going down, what incentive do they have? Attendance was an issue for CL group games and cup games and they reduced the ticket prices for those so they are at least doing something. You name me one club in the world who actually looks after their fans as number 1! Even clubs like Barca and Real Madrid who are owned by the fans have massive ticket prices, again because they always sell out.

This will certainly not be a January deal and i can't also see us having him as well as Drogba, mainly because of the ACN hassle. Eto'o could be lined up however to replace Drogba should he leave.
-
He won't be going anywhere at the moment, we are seriously light with midfielders at the moment.
-
Exactly, it is no real suprise we havn't sold out our allocation for this game really.
-
The adaption time Ballack has had now is more than likely the main reason why he has been playing so well since comming back from injury, he knows the way the game is played now and he knows his team, and he is a clever player so adaption is now done. If he wasn't ready to come back yet we would be toally screwed without that drive in midfield from either him or Lampard. Lets hope he stays fit for the rest of the season.

I am not saying that the atmosphere and everything else that goes with Football is not important or irrelevant, of course it is a very important part of the match day experience. What i am saying is that should a AFC Chelsea situation arrise you are basically deciding to choose between atmosphere/match day experience or the Football, and i would go with the football everytime. Because that is why i got into this in the first place.

Official Stadium Plan Announcement Soon?
EskWeston replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
That is something that can be worked around and it certainly doesn't prevent us totally from leaving the Bridge. -
Actually we was elected straight into the second division in 1905 My point is though what reason can there be for the change of clubs? What are you going to get better at a newly created club? Because it certainly won't be the football. Football has changed, we all know that and it will change again and maybe next time not for the worse.
-
FC United will never get anywhere near the Championship!!! They are right down the bottom of the league totem pole which is where an AFC Chelsea would have to start, and like i said wouldn't be any better than you or me I would guess the attendance at FC United is awful now after the innitial hype all the people who were right behind it have quietly gone back to old trafford without even a second look at FC United.
-
It will never get as far as becomming that bad that it will have to start from scratch. Things are already getting to the point where poor attendances and poor atmospheres are massive topics for debate around all clubs and in the media. A point will come where a compromise will have to be made. But at the end of the day as long as Chelsea is still kicking a football around on the pitch i will be supporting them, Cheerleaders and big salaries or not.
-
If i could only watch it only TV then that is what i would have to do! How can i have an association with another club? Even if it is all Chelsea fans moving over, i am not in it for the fans. To me the logic of "i want standing, singing and hardcore support at football" is all well and good. But what about the Football? That is what we are all in it for at the end of the day. You would end up going to a game standing and singing and watching a team no better than most of the people in the bloody stands...
-
It's not going to happen, the only time that will happen is when the bottom drops out of it and they are all left in the s**t. The TV revenue is their main income anyway, they couldn't care less about the fans in reality and thats the same for every club. An AFC Chelsea wouldn't even be a blip on my radar - it's just not Chelsea.

Ivanovic Tipped To Be A Premiership Star
EskWeston replied to Steve's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
New signing Branislav Ivanovic completed his first training session at Cobham today since signing from Lokomotiv Moscow last week. The defender, 23, took part in a full session alongside his new team-mates, including Avram Grant's other January capture Nicolas Anelka as they prepare for the trip to Everton in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday evening. Ivanovic joined up with the squad following a break at the end of the Russian season which finished in November. 'I've been training individually and I am hoping to get into peak condition as quickly as possible,' he said after his signing. 'Of course I am not at my possible peak but with training, it will come.' Today marked the first step in that process and Ivanovic will now be aiming to gain a place in the side during the second half of the season. -
Atmosphere is secondary - being there to support my team is primary. It wouldn't be good for the club to work like that though. Should anything every happen to Roman then we would be truly f**ked. Besides a bigger stadium and lower ticket prices would help solve a lot of problems. Lower priced cup games this season have generally had good atmospheres. Besides as has been said countless times before, it's not just a Chelsea problem. It's a problem with Football and society in general.
-
Do you mind - i have just finished my lunch.....
-
Would be an awful idea. To go to that would show that you are more interested in having a pissup with your mates and "signing on the terraces" than you are in actually supporting your team. Nothing on this earth would make me walk away from Chelsea, no matter how commercialised and souless it becomes - nothing will spoil my enjoyment of this club that much.
-
Lol, now that is funny because it is an excellant piss take.... the rest were just pictures of scummy scousers
-
Too many pictures of Scousers in this thread!!! Started to make me feel sick.....
-
I wouldn't exactly say he was s**t!!! His scoring record was still pretty decent and his overall contribution to our play was also pretty much overlooked by most.
-
Blah Blah Blah, every bloody week there is a new this player and a new that player comming out of South America. The fact is English clubs are always going find it difficult/impossible to sign young South Americans because of the work permit issues and also the weather and more physical nature of the PL. IF he is that good then we will be looking at him...

Ivanovic Tipped To Be A Premiership Star
EskWeston replied to Steve's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
New Chelsea signing Branislav Ivanovic is more than impressed with what he has seen at Stamford Bridge and is hoping he can repeat the impact on the Premier League made by compatriot Nemanja Vidic. The 23-year-old signed for Chelsea last week from Lokomotiv Moscow in a deal worth just under £10million. "My first impressions are fascinating," Ivanovic told Serbian TV B92 "I haven't seen much but everything until now is just phenomenal." Vidic has made a huge impression at Manchester United, since he moved from Russian football, and Ivanovic is hoping to take something from his experiences. "I haven't spoken to Nemanja Vidic in recent days, but he managed to explain to me several things from before," he said. "He warned me that I am facing a very difficult start, but as time goes by, it should become more easy. "I have a period of adaptation in front of me that I must pass as quick as possible." Ivanovic's first hurdle is to get up to match fitness as the Russian season finished in November. "I haven't trained with a team for a month, but I have worked regularly by myself. That's why I am not in full shape, so I would need to wait some time." Source: Sky Sports -
Should be an announcement sometime this week i would imagine.

There is no way we will sell him until the summer, when we will rebuild. The injuries just keep comming and the ACN is a pain in our backside. We need him at the moment so there is no-way he will be going.
