Well i am going to stick my neck out and say it will be Lampard signing a new contract..... Which considering the way it has been built up would be something of an anti-climax but still excellant news.

Not exactly brilliant reporting is it? They are the only realistic options....

Bad PR? No i don't think so. It would certainly be overboard considering Cech and Essien who are arguably just as imporant didn't get such build up an fanfare!! Still the most probable option though.

Well with just under an hour to go the press still havn't picked up on it yet. Obviously an "in house" story would be easier to keep under wraps, lke Lamps signing or a new stadium announcement. But saying that they also kept Scolari and Deco very quiet too.

Well what the club have done is very unusual. Any announcement is usually done without any build up. So with this build up they are really building up to something potentially huge. If it is a signing there are only 2 possibilities really and that is Robinho and Kaka, either would be a major deal..... but you would have thought that an announcement this big is more geared up to Kaka than Robinho.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, would be like watching a car crash! Watching because there will be some juicy bits but worried you may also see something a bit gruesome.....

Yup it is funny the media not having a clue along with the rest of us. Was the same with the manager appointment. I think there would be a lot of dissapointed if it turned out to be Frank signing a new contract, they have really built this up to be a major signing. Kaka would be unbelieveable, and Robinho would be incredible. Not sure how serious Kaka's current injury is though.

How about a new stadium? Another possibility! Can't believe how quiet this thread is, big world exclusive in under 2 hours and no-one wants to dicuss it......

I have to say that the club have been excellant at keeping things under wraps this summer: Bosingwa Deco Scolari Bridge contract all done without even a suspicion from the press.

Lol.... I agree i think it is probably Frank. But they have really hyped this up if it is. The way they have gone about it seems to suggest a signing - but who know. I wonder which will be the first media outlet to try and claim an "exclusive"? Not so much as a whiff of a story in the press yet! Although aparently a radio station has tried to claim we have signed Kaka....

F**king big teases!!! Well one of 3 options is all i can see in order of most likely: 1. Lampard signs a new deal 2. Robinho signs 3. Kaka signs I posted earlier in the Robinho thread that there were roumers Robinho was going to sign, could be that roumer is correct. Either way it is very exciting.

There have been roumers that Frank has signed a contract for a while now so it could very possibly be that. There are also roumers around that Robinho will sign today. But it could all be a load of tosh of course. Where does it say about a blues news special? I thought there was a 5:00pm show everyday now with the days headlines?

Roumers flying about on various forums that he could be signing today! Not sure where the info is comming from though. Wait and see what happens, should know by the 6:30 blues news i would have thought if he is going to sign today....

These Ivanovic stories just won't go away. Some reports suggesting that a deal will be done in hours. Pretty much all of the articles i have read on this have based their story on the fact that he signed in January and has not played for us, completely ignoring the facts of WHY he hasn't played for us yet. If we were to sell Ivanovic considering we have let go of Ben Haim then we are going to be short of centre backs - unless they are prepared to give Mancienne the chance of the 4th choice centre back spot. I hope we don't let him go because he looks a very promising player who could do well for us this season at centre back or at right back.

Yup agree with that. But if Man you do sign Berbatov then that will make them more of a threat upfront which is somewhere they were lacking which was why Ronaldo was SO important to them last season.... I think this season will be a big one for us. Scolari has the players completely focused and ready to go out to win every game we play in. A lot of teams have improved considerably this season, i can't see anyone else getting close to the top 4 but some teams will be a much tougher prospect.

Todays reports are that we have upped our bid to £25m and that Robinho is going to tell Madrid (again) that he definately wants to leave. Still plenty of time to sort this out. Madrid have really screwed themselves in this one with their persuit of Ronaldo and pissing off Robinho in the process....

It certainly looks that way. Us announcing officially a bid was very intriguing also. Dragged on a very long time now and could certainly run to the end of the month. I would say it looks 70/30 in favour of him comming at the moment.

Never looked suited to our system in my opinon. Not going to be the leading forward. He likes to drop too deep. Better to sell him than to loan him out.

I can't see us letting him go already. We need him in the squad and also he has had a good pre season. I think it is just a load of rubbish.

Providing Drogba is fully commited to us this season which i think he will be it is good for us to have Drogba still here with us. Hopefully he can recreate the form of a couple of seaons ago and be an absolute monster!!

It was such a stupid ruling, the game took place anyway, but the point was to raise money for the past players trust which will now not receive anything.

Happened over the weekend. 2 first team teams took on 2 teams made up of youth and reserve teams.... I think the gap was left mainly because our pre season tour was so hectic with all the travelling that it was probably better to not play any more games and have high intensity training.,

I can't see this happening. Even the comments from the agent don't make it sound very likely.
