When we let Sheva and SWP go i was 100% convinced he would come. We surely wouldn't have cut down on our attacking options without knowing we had a replacement. Now i am not so sure, maybe we had a deal sorted and Madrid have pulled out of it!
-
Joe's form hasn't been great the last 2 games, but i don't the position he is playing is suited to him at all, playing as a second striker just doesn't seem to be working for him. We are still only 3 games into a season that has been disrupted by internationals and will be disrupted again now. Joe's form will pick up, along with a few other players as well.
-
Well aparantly Mijatovic wants to get rid of him now and Schuster slammed the player last night which makes it seem that he may let him go and so it comes down to Calderon..... I think there is a very good chance it will still go through,
-
It wasn't the greatest of performances for sure, and we fizzled out half way through the second half but we did more than enough to win that game. Tottenham were hardly a threat and scored through a cheap goal, we created some excellant chances which we should have done better with. I didn't think playing Belletti in the holding role was a good idea, it would have been better i think to play 4-3-3 with Essien, Lamps and Deco in midfield and another winger with Anelka and Cole. Kalou should have come on earlier, same with Di Santo i think but at the end of the day we should have had the game wrapped up by half time. One of those games i think....

It is still very very hard to know what is going to happen. Are Madrid really taking this hard-line stance and willingness to keep a players who really doesn't want to stay and isn't happy with the way the club has trated him? Or are they going through the motions of putting up a fight to make themselves look better in the eyes of their fans? Who knows to be honest. Madrid put themselves in this situation by ignoring Robinho and going all out for Ronaldo which fell through, now they are on the receiving end of what they wanted Ronaldo to do to get out of Man Utd and they do not like it.. I hope we sign him, i think we need him. After letting go Pizarro, Sheva and SWP we are short of options now upfront.
-
Well the last day is finally upon us and it we will know one way or the other for sure by midnight. There is no telling what will happen. Although i have a feeling that after Robinho's press conference Madrid may well decide to just let him go. But you do have to laugh very hard at the way Madrid are being total hypocrits about this transfer with the way they have gone about transfers in the past and even with Ronaldo this summer.....

Dear god this saga has ran on and on. It will be done right at the last minute for sure...
-
Sorry Had a weeks holiday so not been on!

Chelsea cash in with Robinho replica shirts
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Isn't the Megastore run by Kitbag? If so then it is them that has screwed up! Either way it was a very silly thing to do. -
Definately through his agent i would have though. But Robinho's comments are very interesting indeed....
-
Lol, another twist in the Robinho saga!! Well just over a week to go and we will know for sure one way or the other,
-
Never heard of him, but it seems to be regarded as a done deal!! Aparently going to join up with the reserves and hope he can fulfill his potential...
-
Well that games was bloody awful. The England internationals really wind me up now. David f**king Beckham getting a standing ovation for everything he does even if he tripped over his shoelace. JT, Ash and particulary Frank getting booed before during and after the game. Gerrard playing left mid, Rooney all over the shop and no-one wanting to take the game by the scruff.... The performance was rubbish, the fans are a disgrace! But Wembly was nice
-
Well the appointment of JT as captain has (outside of CFC) divided opinion. The sad fact is that for the majority of people the prejudices that come with supporting a club carry over to the national team, which is why Lamps is disliked and why Terry is not everyones cup of tea! Still all that matters is that it was the correct choice, i shall be at Wembly tonight for JT's first official game as captain of England under Capello.
-
common sense prevails......
-
I can't see us playing Essien, Lampard, Ballack and Deco together in every game, plus at their ages it is very unlikely to happen. We will see, as we did pre season a 4-3-3 with wingers with Joe Cole and Robinho as the first choice for those positions. We will have both formations available for us to use when needed.
-
Absolutely. I have never understood the stories that Robinho coming in would affect Cole...
-
Know its just rumours but still Rio for Captain
EskWeston replied to Laylabelle's topic in Football Chat
I can't understand the logic of giving Rio the captaincy either. But it has always looked that Capello favours Rio, i have no idea why the guy isn't even first choice captain for his club side. -
It is no suprise that the speculation surrounding Joe is all rubbish! It is great to hear that he wants to stay here for many more years and i hope we get the contract sorted out with him as soon as possible. But Kenyon did indicate that nothing will be done till next summer now.,

Not your house, someone elses house, which would have burnt down while they were rescuing you from the balcony.
-
Good job someones house wasn't on fire at the same time....
-
Can't ask for much more from the opening game of the season! We completely outplayed Pompey and deserved the 4 goals. It was a shame Ballack had to go off because he was playing very well i thought. Everyone played very well and there wasn't a bad performance among them. Lets see if we can keep this going.
-
Is that a new story, because the Marca and AS stories have been doing the rounds all day, one saying he is going to accept a new contract and the other saying he will not travel and join us instead for £32m. Still 2 weeks to get this transfer done i am sure there is plenty to go in this one
-
Which means they were unsuccesful in flogging him off!! Probably due to wages. Still we need our squad trimming and this was not a big suprise to anyone. Next will be Belletti.
