what else do u expect out of TOPTB? i would have been suprised if this was the first time he had shown that attitude.

well mvg would not be better in attacking tham lamps/rambo/essien because whenever he was deployed in the pivot with any of these names, it was mvg who was the DM. thats goes to say a lot about his attacking prowess does not it. oh anyways i forget, we just like to exaggerate every youngster that plays for us. for eg- mvg is as good a DLP as modric, right? or chalobah deserves a place in the team etc etc.. how am i judging josh on a different criteria? seen him play under ancelotti, seen him play carling cup games, even a CL game (which we won, by the way). and hence i can say he offers more than mvg.

simply cant see us winning any of the away fixtures. our "kids" simply dont have the metal to grind out an away result. we cant even do that in PL, so CL is far off. the max number of points we are getting is 9. so its upto basel to get 5 out of their remaining 4 fixtures (considering that we draw with them). so for me its europa again.

so because mikel scored awesome goals for nigeria going past 3 defenders and all, i am supposed to say he is a goal threat? mvg is played as a DM here. for CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB, mvg is no goal threat. jose is using him in that sense. josh on the other hand is far better attacking option and will be used as such. my view is not misguided at all. its only fair. precisely my point. mikel may be great for nigeria but he has barely shown a thread of his "attacking prowess" for us. i have not seen mvg outside of chelsea, but off the 7 pre-season games , 5 min subs and yesterday's match, it safe to assume he is not much of a goal threat for us and is being used as such.

i have seen josh play for middlesborough, and for chelsea when he was 17. josh even at that age offered far more goal threat than mvg. mvg is more physical and a better cm for a pivot, but it seems so unfair on josh to say that he offers lesser goal threat than a player who must have put in about 10% of his passes in the forward direction, had a touch so bad in the last and only match that he could have been yellowed twice while trying to get the ball back. does that explain it? to say mvg offers more goal threat than josh is criminal because mvg offers NO THREAT. he dint in any of the pre-season matches, or his 5 min sub performance or yesterday. meanwhile i remember josh controlling the tempo of one of his only games in pre-season and completely bossed in his short performance.

i seriously cant see us winnig this. i mean can we score more than 1 goal without mata - NO. can we keep a clean sheet with luiz and cole in the back four - NO. do fulham cos us a problem - YES. do the players have the character and the steel to stand up and make things right like the chelsea of old - HELL, NO.

brilliant work-rate. always available as an option on the wing. took a couple of really good runs and seemed to be one of the best "attacking" threats. defensively was awesome. but really needs to stop putting the low crosses. by now even our strikers have lost hope that they can actually score and no one even makes a run. should just try and run to the by-line and try to get a corner from the next match. :sigh:

i would be happy if these things happen in this match 1. chelsea dont lose 2. mata gets 90 minutes. 3. azpi and bertrand start. 4. hazard is benched. 5. our striker actually has a shot on goal.

and yet people have no problem with hazard playing 90 minutes in every match.

And then he kept losing the ball trying to go past the whole basel team. Just fucking stay on the wing and do your bloody job. If you are unable to get past your man then just pass the bloody ball to another fucking player. As for the performance jose has to take the fall. No excuses. The player seem un-motivated, dis-interested, and while we thought that having a big squad will make them fight for their place, the players’ attitude has been utterly shambolic. Why was mata sent in with a 1-0 lead. It was so fucking obvious that we were going to concede if our defence and mid was not shored up and still, he took out willian who was atleast providing cover for iva unlike the great hazard, and put in mata who seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else except for Stamford bridge. Lost the ball which led to the goal and was completely un-influential. Another thing is the tactic we are using of attacking with our fullbacks. For me ivanovic was the man of the match, for his brilliant work-rate, defence and contribution to the attack, but why do we need our full-backs to attack when we have so much creativity in the team. Why cant the likes of willian and hazard just stay on the wings, stretch the defence rather than going central and using iva and cole to provide width. And while I am on this subject lets talk about COLE. Has lost half his pace Is useless in an attack Slows the game down immensely with his mind-bogglingly stupid passes back to the center backs which gives the teams time to settle and get back into their defensive shape. I mean what the use of cole bombarding ahead and leaving space behind him for salah to run. Twice, fucking twice salah could have put basel ahead in the first half if he could have put a half-decent ball in the box and it was no fucking surprise that he scored. So why not give Bertrand a real shot. As for the season, I was expecting so much out of it, but its proving to be a DISASTER. We don’t have a goal-scorer and the only one who could have done something has been sent out on loan. The midfield 3 look clueless without mata, and we simply don’t have that cutting edge without him playing at his best. The defence is in a poor condition. The team has no identity, no character. We look worse than arsenal for fuck’s sake. Simply not looking forward to the weekend for a derby match against fulham. Expect to be disappointed again.

even then there are only 3 players under 22 - mvg, oscar, kdb with lamps, ba , mata, back 4 and cech all still being above 22. maybe another false 9 game with schurlle up ahead.

BULLSHIT. jose to chelsea was OBVIOUS since jan-feb. OBVIOUS. he had made some comment of how he would not be in RM next season in a PC at that time. RAFA was not going to stay for another season. i remember after a PL match in his interview, rafa was asked if he ll be staying at chelsea for the next season, he smiled and asked the reporter "what do u think?". JOSE to chelsea was done way before SAF took his retirement and mancini was fired. so jose was not considered for it because the deal was DONE, not because his CV was not good enough. as for rafa, he did an okay job. nothing more, nothing less. people still forget that we were 2nd with just 4 points off united before he came. we ended the season 20 odd points behind them and that was when united played their last 5 games as dead rubbers. we lost COC, club world cup, fa cup. at one point of time 4th spot seemed to be a dream, specially when we lost 2-1 to southampton when rafa preferred to rest our players for a useless fa cup game against united rather than making sure of the 4th spot. also there were some hopelessly poor performances. bucuresti(a), qpr (h), southampton (a) etc. the only reason rafa is given any respite here is because we ended the season on an ultimate high. also i cant believe i am trying to defend jose's appointment against rafa's. anyways rafa was no option. it was so obvious. the fans dint want him. the board dint want him (u know something is wrong when the manager of the team says things like "i should have been named manager and not interim manager"). so what other option did we have?

4 players under 22 means??? lets do some calculations none of our striker, cant be the goalie, he wont risk kalas as a CB in the first match itself plus none of the other defenders are below 22. so that is 6 positions accounted for. lamps is starting so that leaves the other 4 positions. which means no mata and willian. so i would guess cech azpi cahill JT bertrand mvg lamps kdb oscar hazard/schurlle. striker (who cares). atleast i hope this is the team.

oh my god!!! seriously??? not many teams would have wanted him after 1 bad year in which he reached CL semi final and came second in la liga. man city, psg and any of the big teams would have gone for him if it was already confirmed that jose was going to be our new manager even before the season started. and do tell me, who we would have got if not JOSE? please enlighten me.
