i cant see us losing this one in any way. city were brilliant with 10 men. playing in front of their own fans, they put in a spirited performance. i dont think we were poor on the day. united were tactically good. absolutely nullified cesc by using fellaini and mata. also they sat back and let us do the pressing which was never going to be successful with DD. pool on the other hand tried to fight fire with fire against RM at anfield. they were kind of successful in the first 15-20 minuyes but after that RM simply outclasses them. expecting much of the same here. i simply dont see pool trying to do what they did in madrid in front of their own fans. that will be a quick way for rodgers to get the sack. also, their set piece defending is so woeful that its not even funny. also, after a string of "poor" performances, i expect jose to get everyone riled up for this one.

considering the fact that a lot of people wanted to play "youth" or field our second string team, its not suprising that people think that this was our worst perfomance of the season. maribor were playing the biggest match in their history. they were never going to simply bend over and take it up their ass. they were up for it while we were not. even then, we should have won the match. the oscar pen, hazard 1v1, costa 1v1, hazard penalty, cesc offside. all of these or atleast 1 of these should have been easily converted. we showed character when we went down but unfortunately could not get the telling goal. the most worrying thing about last night was the continued dip in form and performance of schurrle. terrible performance. dont know what wrong there. cesc looked knackered. should have been rested for today. DD had his moments like the thru ball to hazard (i think) but lost the ball more often than not. luis is in no way better than azpi. lastly, what formation were we playing when we had just iva, JT and zouma in defence? dint look like a 3-5-2 cos rambo was mostly in a RB position. all in all, considering the schalke result and the city result, it was a good night. just a win away from sealing the group.

when we are talking abput players in a thread called "january transfer window", i would assume, people are basing their arguments on the context of CFC itself. well atleast i did. draxler IS more of a goal threat and better going forward but in no way is he anywhere near willian's workrate and all round play, something which is pretty important to us. i have seen fiorentina in big matches and in europa (last season). dint see anyone making a fuss about him then and justifiably. only cos of a good world cup, is he now "a must get" player. also, i dont think cuadrado made the team of the year for serie A. did he? hardly a player for whom we should be paying 30mil. totally agree with "viper". proper case of a grass is always greener on the other side syndrome.

really? in what way? a 5 match world cup makes cuadrado "comfotably" better? have never seen him set the pitch on fire for fiorentina. as for draxler, he is a left winger who would be needed to be shifted to the RW and whose defensive frailities would simply increase the workload on oscar. willian on the other hand, gives far more stability to our system. also draxler would cost 40mil, hardly a price we should be paying for a makeshift RW and a player who is pretty far from WC.

maybe, but i would rather have a HG player like moses or a youth player to replace salah. also to buy any of those players we need atleast 20mil, cuadrado would cost 30mil and draxler about 40mil. so dont see the point of having a 20mil plus player on the bench who does not really improve us a lot!!! n the other hand if we sell willian and get reus in the next summer window, that would be absolutely fabulous first team!!!
