  1. Yer she did strongly oppose it. Brown probably deserves more credit though fought Blair who still thinks it would be a good idea to adopt the euro to this very day.
  2. Let's not forget that she herself came from a working class background. In fact she is the only Post-war PM, to date to have done so.
  3. She did some good things, some unpopular but necessary things, and some very bad things. Overall I think she was probably bad for Britain. But public parties and active celebration just shows that the bitterness and bigotry of the left is far greater than any of the right. Give me Thatcher's conviction over Blair's Spin any day.
  4. Almost everyone who takes even a passing interest in football does.
  5. Really don't think we need to buy anyone. The amount of youth/on loan talent is more than enough. There's a case for buying a world-class striker but I don't think we need to spend big money this summer.
  6. http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/news/article/third-kit-vote-mar-28-738274.aspx AFC Wimbledon letting their fans choose the design for their 3rd kit. Proper club.
  7. People shouldn't have to keep their opinions to themselves in my opinion, no matter how distasteful or downright nasty they might be, which Di Canio's undoubtedly are. Were getting to a stage where people are only allowed to venture a minute distance, be it left or right from the centre ground before they are isolated and stigmatized as an 'extremist.' I don't think its right for official, non political employers or organisations (such as a football club,) to base their appointments on the political beliefs of candidates. If he insists on promoting his opinions and this affects his ability to carry out his role or discriminates against those he works with then fine. But if not I just don't think its right.
  8. Do you actually have anything remotely intelligent or though trough to contribute to this debate?
  9. Listen you self-righteous mess. If i don't believe in multiculturalism that's my own personal choice. We had one of the most far-right bunch of fans in England when you claim to have been going to games so im not sure the clubs always been quite the liberal, tolerant paradise you seem to think. Don't patronise or mock me from your detached, suburban house because I may have different political opinions to your own good, infallible self.
  10. I didn't choose which team I supported based on my political beliefs at the age of 5 you utter mongoose. Im sure you fully consulted the profit forecast's and business plan before choosing to pledge your allegiance to the brand, me on the other hand inherited support from the Old man.
  11. I hate Di Canio as a person, he strikes me as an aggressive, arrogant scumbag. But, where do you draw the line? Would a conservative like me who doesn't personally believe in multiculturalism be suitable to run a football club? Who are you to decide who's suitable and who isn't. People shouldn't be confined to certain areas of employment based on personal beliefs. If he starts trying to promote his opinions then its a different story but, i don't believe he will.
  12. Its a dangerous game to decide who is and isn't fit for employment based on their own personal inner thoughts, opinions and beliefs. If he makes a racist comment then, an offence has been committed and he should be punished or sacked. Until then he's here to manage a football team. Nothing else.
  13. I disagree. People's political views, unless they directly incite violence should never ruin their lives or affect their job prospects. If they do, people are limited to the very narrow spectrum of 'liberal respectability.' Even if the majority consider Fascism, Nationalism, Communism or increasingly Conservatism offensive and act to prevent those who subscribe to such beliefs from ever achieving what they want in life, it is a genuine attack on freedom of thought. De Canio has never once said he plans to promote or even mention fascism within this Country. Denying people a job on what they think or believe politically is no different to denying someone a job based on what religion they choose to think or believe is right.
  14. He used to consider himself a fascist and has been seen giving fascist salutes (which is admittedly unsavory.) But, he's since said he's neither fascist nor racist and I just don't see what its got to do with his ability to run a football club personally.
  15. People need to drop this Di Canio rubbish. He's here to run a football club not run a political campaign. There wouldn't be a sniff in the media if he had once been a committed Marxist.
