He said that playing DL in the midfield was not something only the fans wanted but he and Robbie have considered it as well. He said with injuries, suspension, rotation, we could see Luiz playing in the midfield this year. Maybe that's part of the reason why we let Raul and Michael go?

He could thrive. Let's face it, Luiz wants to be MF.

I think he could be excellent in the double pivot, but maybe not as the "Mikel," but as the "Lampard." Mikel - David Luiz could actually be an excellent partnership. Who knows.

On 2 August, Cole started his first Liverpool game for over a year, playing in the Europa League first leg qualifier victory over FC Gomel. He was substituted after just 23 minutes, being replaced by Raheem Sterling after tweaking his hamstrings. He was able to return as a substitute in Liverpool's 3-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, but a repeat of a hamstring injury saw him limp off and replaced after only 11 minutes. Lol, poor Joe..
