Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
steve5221 replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He will certainly get more time than the other managers we have had, but if top 4 is looking unachievable than Roman will sack him, regardless of the cash issue... I dont think that will happen though, with the competivness of the league Arsenal will drop points and Liverpool are too negative.....Spurs are a danger though, they can be top London club this year if we don't pull our finger out... -
In my original post I never said sell him or I never said he aint good enough full stop. I said he aint good enough IMO to play the pass to feet quick passing game that AVB plays. I also said that you can't fault his effort or commitment. He could be effective in a more direct style and he could flourish. I hope I am wrong about him as I will always back a Chelsea player that gives 100%. I just do not think he has a good enough touch and footwork at the moment. The best thing for him would be a loan to a premier league club in January, but I am unsure if that will be possible this season...
-
He wont drop Cole for this match - way to much pressure on AVB.
-
Bet Josh is well pleased about this news.....
-
This is how the mighty British society works....police spend over a week on investigating this bollocks at the tax payers expense, while they do fuck all to protect law abiding citizens or little kids who are being abused....
-
Exactly, Torres still has it but is not producing the required effort consistantly enough. I think the media have destroyed him confidence wise...he is scared to do the things that he used to do incase it does not come off... AVB should pull him aside and play to his ego....keep telling him he is still a world class striker and the best we have...fact is we need him firing desperately at the moment. If AVB does not fancy Sturridge in the middle then he is our only option...

Chelsea Individual Statistics, October 2011
steve5221 replied to Melanicus's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Can't find the AVB thread so gonna put it here as it mentions statistics. Interesting stat in the telegraph today saying Ferguson's win percentage at Man U over his entire career is 59%. AVB's is currently 61%, keep the faith...... -
Like it ashleyfrancisdavies

180 minutes or 5 mins - it does not take an expect such as yourself to see how good a players touch and skill is...even us mortals who have followed football for 25+ years are entitled to an opinion..... FYI - the correct spelling is Connoisseur, you were close though....
-
Lukaku aint good enough for the style of football we play under AVB...if we were to play a more direct game like Ancellotti then yes as you cant fault his attitude and workrate. I really cant understand why we bought him...
-
It appears to me that he is just not trying hard enough, I was watching him when we attacked last night and most of the time he just jogs into the box, not looking to bust a gut to get in the best position and why would a CF not want to take a penalty??.
-
Agree, I dont think Torres is giving 100% in every game anymore. He seems to pick and chose his games and that is not acceptable. The fans liked Sheva because he always gave 100%, the same cannott be said of Torres lately..... I think it is time to give Sturridge a go as the central striker and play Mata and Anelka either side..

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

I do feel a bit sorry for AVB in that the players that he has at his disposal are not good enough to play the way he wants. Having said that, im my opinion he needs to show more pateince and stop being so erratic in his substitutions. Last night he had Malouda Mata Lampard Mierlies Torres and Sturridge on the pitch in the last 10 minutes chasing the game and we could have easily lost. This combined with bringing Kalou on in Valencia shows a lack of patience to me....a point away in Europe is a good result against any side.. Also he has to pick a settled back 5 and stick with it, currently he only has 4 in his mind....Cech Bos Cole and JT.. As for signings we can forget about the days of Ranieri and Mourinho, his hands are tied because of FFP, I really hope that this rule falls down because we aint gonna start winning things again for a while otherwise..as has been mentioned on here many times before, we are stuck with average players on very high wages and long contracts. If the report in the evening standard yesterday is true and we have offered Kalou £85k a week on his new deal then that beggars belief... The Lakuka signing could not have been his either as that guy cannot play in the AVB style.. -
Agree with the above, but our current squad should be good enough to get top 4 if we play the correct tactics. This naive, ridiculous gung ho approach has to be addressed. AVB is under pressure now and it will be interesting to see how he reacts....we are not Barca, so we have to play accordingly...yes we all like to see attractive football but winning football is more important.... As for new players, this FFP has really fucked us up, I dont think we can buy anyone big without offloading first to meet the criteria...

Like him or not, he certainly changed the landscape of the PL in terms of attacking football.......
-
100% Luiz if he plays....

Do you bear grudges against players that have not done that in past seasons? Although this season they are giving 100%, Anelka and Malouda are two that have not given us 100% effort in previous seasons (the Grant era was the most prominant) -
Paul Eliiott should head this up, a real intelligent man who has had terrible first hand experience of racism (Celtic and Italy).....plus he nevers appears bitter, both in his racial abuse and when his career was ended prematurely by that wanker Dean Saunders.......Elliott is the man!!
-
I can't see how you will ever 100% eliminate racism or homophobia in football, while it still exists in society. I also do not think that the FA are up to the job of handling it either.......the more I read quotes from Paul Elliott(an ex black Chelsea player), the more I think he should be handed a senior position in the FA on this issue(if he does not have one already)...
-
So what happens if someone is called "A queer cunt", do they get kicked out of the game for that to?? or an "ugly cunt" or "hairy cunt", the person receiving the taunt may find that just as offensive...if you kick someone out of the game for saying something then you are setting a precedent...I can't see how that would be legal either....the player could then sue all sorts of organisations if banned for life.....

It's worth mentioning that the original true fans are now priced out of going to games....I can remember paying £4 quid to watch Chelsea in the shed in the mid 90's.....obviously as we got better prices went up....as for the atmosphere, compared to pre Roman it is an absolute joke, pathetic even....i borrowed a mates sesaon ticket a few years ago and was amazed at the quietness of the ground...people were not even taking thier seats until 20 mins into the game. -
Chill.......lets see what the club's response is first....
-
Check the official website, there is a quote from Buck "Obviously we are disappointed but we recognise and we respect totally that the shareholders of Chelsea Pitch Owners have spoken. We will meet with Mr Abramovich and the rest of the board and we will decide what action, if any, we will take going forward."
-
Who is realistically gonna have the dough for those sites off thier own back like Roman though??.....we will still get our first choice i'm sure....you never know they could submit a new proposal by next week...
