I think most of us agree a great playmaker/passer would be one of our top 3 choices for Chelsea. I still don't understand how that translates onto the field with Lampard and I'm not a Lampard hater. I just don't see it happening but I may be missing the obvious and would love to be taught the error of my ways.

That has never been his strong suit. The difference in the past when given the ball he usually has the confidence to take players on and convert chances. So you could overlook the other parts of his game. Now he's taking that extra half step and losing the opportunity to finish. The goal was a glimpse of Torres of old - run onto the ball, don't hesitate, finish quickly, goal.

Had an earlier chance he should have done better with. Spain has a friendly with Venezuela in three days and he'll probably get in that one too.

Does anybody honestly see Frank competing for playing time, rotating, not being a regular starter even if Modric or any other creative CM came over? I wonder but I'm in a particulary foul mood today.

According to Guillem: Juventus willing to pay for Aguero but Aguero doesn't want to go there. AM seems to be softening stance and Aguero may end up at Real Madrid if RM is willing to pay. Didn't mention Chelsea at all.

Rafa rode Torres hard and put him away wet during his time as manager. He was so reliant on Torres (and the owners wanted him to play) that Torres was rushed back from injury time and time again. Rafa was out at LFC because Stevie and Carragher wanted him gone (because Rafa said Carragher was getting old and slow) and Purslow caved in. Combined with Rafa going to war with the owners, Rafa prepped his own sack. Roy is out at LFC because the team, not just Torres was sh*t, AND the LFC faithful never wanted Roy. Once Rafa was gone they wanted Kenny and unless Roy went undefeated he was never going to be good enough. Carlo is out because ????? Inability to get Torres and Drogba to work together? Maybe. Inability to get Torres going? Maybe. Team slipping down the standings Nov/Dec? Maybe. I'll be the first to say the Chelsea version of Torres is nothing like the Liverpool prime version of Torres. To blame him for getting 3 managers the sack is a stretch though.

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered but what is Hiddink's (assuming he's brought in) philosphy regarding youth and change? Are younger players going to be given more of a chance under Guus than Carlo? Does Guus rotate players or the same 11 for the most part? What formation does Guus like or is he open to what's best for the players at hand?

Where is Fabregas going to play in that Barca lineup? Or better, when is he going to play? To rest Xavi or Iniesta?

Yes, Barcelona would be better. When Torres left AM and then returned with Liverpool to play Real Madrid in the CL, the abuse he received from the "White" side of Madrid was hostile (an understatement). RM is definitely the big dog in the fight but leaving AM to go to RM would be a slap in the face to the AM faithful. Barcelona they could understand, RM they could not forgive even with the $ RM would give them.

AM fans can understand him leaving but leaving to RM is going to leave a bad taste for many AM fans. That is one of the reasons Torres is loved by AM fans because he has always ruled out RM because of loyalty to AM.

Rumors about Harry.... the only positive is the media absolutely freakin' loves him. Maybe they'd quit bashing Chelsea at every opportunity if their media golden boy, Harry, was calling in to Talksport and whatever else it is Harry does.

Agree... Too bad he couldn't have got the Golden Glove award too instead of Hart. Think he's overlooked too often within the PL when talking about top keepers.
