That was also a mistake cause the names that are replacing those are even worse. Lamps would have been more useful than Meireles and Essien had to be more involved.

As Ray Wilkins said earlier today, Lamps is a top top professional and if you want to make him an impact player, a super-sub then you just have to talk to him at the beginning of the season and say: 'Hey Frank, time for younger players to fill your shoes, but you'll remain a valuable member of the squad and you'll be recalled if needed.'
