Normally this is a battering. But we haven't hit any kind of gear where I can say we look ridiculous and at our best. Possibly one game vs Spurs we played well, but game was open. This to me should be a game where its go there, smash them from the off and walk away with a 0-4, it seems like a long time since we played that well

Don't forget to throw in Mata behind a striker and i'm sure it could eclipse those days...If our strikers can finish.

Didn't play well again, am wondering when we will pick it up. Sunderland could have got a result here easily. We are riding our luck against teams we should be finishing off....24 shots? and how many went it, a lucky goal that lamps knew nothing about. Need a new striker and Danny back on the pitch ASAP.

I don't think he will sign. Only way is to move swiftly, have the bid accepted, agree ASAP. The Chelsea way isn't like this.... Think we would struggle to get him. Be amazing if he came Though. I think he will sign for a bigger club. Going to a club potentially not in the CL next year won't be attractive. That said you throw enough wedge at something and they will prob sell...great player, Just think he may have better options. We can't wrap a 7mil Cahill up, so god knows how it's expected we could ever wrap a £35mil player up

AVB has just said on Sky Sports News we will make a maximum of 2 signings this month. With that said, i'm not happy with the squad at all, and don't think it will be good enough to get us to fourth. Taking Cahill signing into consideration, this leaves us one more signing. Where will it be? To me it HAS to be CF for me and a great one at that. I heard today Ba's release clause is "less than 7 million", he can play in CL low risk too. That said we deffo need a midfield maestro, but i think with essien coming back, and starting for the reserves today, hopefully (crosses fingers) he can come back

This is a joke? Torres can't play AM, Rooney is a different player completely. He affects the game in 100 different ways. Torres cannot do this. Rooney will run 60 yards back to recieve the ball and start an attack, Torres won't. Thats what CAM do, work. Everyone in here says he gets no support or passes, if it was Rooney he go back and get the ball, show frustration. Torres just walks with his head down due to lack on anything good. Again look at yday's game. I don't mean to keep stating the obvious, but do we have a striker who scores? Have we had one this season? NO. We have no-one and I mean no-one in our whole squad who plays as a CF who can score right now. Any potential i.e. Lukaku won't get a chance either. So that is where we need to strengthen. Torres isn't good enough to be playing week in week out right now, it's catch 22. He needs games, but we can't afford to play him over and over again with no end result, we will end up losing as a team. Thats what this is about, whats best for the team. Not Torres.

believe it when I see it. Up and til now he's been worth 50p. And I think he's always going to have pressure. Pricetag, lack of pace,touch and finish all has to return. I hope it does but will be astonished if it does.

Someone wrote he wouldn't get in the team ahead of Drogba and torres?!I've never heard such wank! This guy has two goals less than van Persie...that shows how good he's been this year. And not to mention in a team surrounded by alot lesser players. While I think he'd be a very good signing and what we need right now (someone who can actually score), my only concern is he does a Benni McCarthy, i.e. has a wonder season, then goes off the rail. I don't think he will and for the price hes worth the risk. He would be a garenteed first team starter for the rest of the season as all out strikers have problems imho.

No bite in the middle for me,need a quality midfielder. Danny needs to be part of the front line. Not behind. would rather Danny play instead of Torres. Preferably with a new strike partner too. ^^^ Think there were rumours he had a poor attitude in training, hence not playing much. Always read big things about him when he was in our reserves, typical Chelsea though. Not having a dig at AVB, but to say youth will get a chance shows how confident he must of felt in the first team to produce the goods and slowly integrate players like Josh and Gael in. Now because of how poor our first team is, I think he would rather buy proven quality and try secure 4th spot which won't be easy at all. Our club is one of few (can only think of Man City) that don't give youth a chance, Arsenal do, Utd were flying with Cleverly and Wellbeck. Liverpool even play younger players. But we seem to talk it but never give them a chance. Part of our downfall I guess in one way. In another we spend so much money buying proven quality that youth will never get a chance. sad. To be honest a lot of people are saying let this one go, personally I think we are in need of a player like him and I think 7Million is a bargain at that. Our defence needs shoring up, he's strong and young. Get him in ASAP or be prepared to pay well over the odds for a lesser defender.

Our Squad isn't good enough atm imo. Looking at it Players who need rid of OR competition: Cech,Terry,Lampard,Meirieles,Torres,Drogba,Malouda,Kalou,Boswinga,Cole,Mikel It leaves holes everywhere in our team. We need a good RB or if Ivanovic is playing there with Cahill and Terry in centre, Cole needs competition Romeu is fine in DF, Ramieres is great, Then we need a replacement for lampard, and a hell of a player in the mould of a snejdar/modric. We need a goalscorer...Anyone notice we don't have one...AT ALL?? Torres is about as much use right now as a poopy flavoured lollipop. Drogba is hit and miss. That leaves us with Lukaku who isn't ready. And then our bench wouldn't be very scary at all if we got rid of those players. And i'm still not sold on David Luiz or where he should be played. Our Squad needs to consist of the following: Cech/Courtious Ivanovic/Perriera Terry/Cahill/Luiz - Ivanovic can cover here. Cole/Bertrand Romeu Ramires/Lampard/Merieles/ 2 New players needed here Mata/Sturridge/ 2 new strikers needed here I think this can't happen over Jan, we will patch up some cracks then hopefully make the moves in summer. Damage may already be done by then with no CL. The only other option I can see is moving mata into a CAM role and hopefully if Essien comes back a beast, we could buy a winger in the mould of Hazard or Hulk, Whatever, with Cavani or similar up top. Still don't know if Mata is strong enough in that role but time could tell. I am deffo shitting myself about this one. Obviously the feeling in here is a negative one and I can personally sympathise with that. We have been inconsistent for ages now. We don't look anywhere near our best. Where as spurs look fantastic. The starting lineups show this will be an all out pace battle. Expect an amazing game for the neutral. Spurs will go mental from the start so Chelsea must be up for this otherwise I think we could lose 4-0. I hope we are, we are playing 3across the middle, vdv will drop off for them and make it 5, either way I hope we show up, cause they will show no mercy. And looking at the table we don't want to be in with a 4th place fight which is what it will be if we lose this match.
