Although Kalou is rubbish, he can do stuff that Torres can't. i.e score goals.

Everybody's losing patience on him and I don't blame anyone. Everyone supported him all the time: the fans, the club, his team-mates. He has definitely dug his own grave and he has nobody but himself to blame. And it sucks that only months after we all went berserk over the transfer, we're now suggesting that he leaves and where the club should sell him. Who would've thought?

Sheva was better than Torres. At least he used to score every now and then.

But compare the way he'll be leaving and the memories and achievements he is leaving behind with Torres if he leaves this season or the next. We'll always remember Drogba for his massive contribution whereas Torres has been rubbish. Drogba > Torres any day of the week.

The fans only sing when we win. Funny how they got up and left, as if they were watching a film and then it finished.

As I've mentioned another day in another topic, he is absolutely rubbish when he starts and it's only when he comes on for like 10 minutes that he gets involved a little. It's so painful to watch him play and although I don't want to see him leave I wouldn't mind it even if he did. It's obvious that he has no future in this club, and I'm afraid that he is finished.

And then he would fail just like the other big names.

So true. I bet most of us would be happy and the team would slightly improve if at least half of those changes mentioned in the first post happened, but I highly doubt that there will be any changes. We'll wait for the next summer the whole season and then maybe things will change a little.

I only watched the last 20 minutes, someone PLEASE tell me Torres didn't start and if he did please say he wasn't that rubbish the whole 90 minutes.

Come on, it's only Carling Cup. Getting as many points as possible in the league is what really matters now if we want to qualify for the Champions League for next season, but you can't say that this was not a bitter defeat and that getting knocked out of the only trophy we were able to win this season is not depressing. But it's not the end of the world. I seriously hope that we fail to qualify for the Champions League though. It would be a real nightmare if Barcelona or Real Madrid score 5 or 6 past us. So we need to get knocked out so we can concentrate in the league more.

Balotelli has this sort of unique character which has made him feel special in a way, but I don't think that he has the talent to become one of the best strikers in England. But he is a top guy for damaging that door at Anfield's dressing room

Drogba did okay today, but he was much better today than he was against Benfica or Liverpool, imo.

Can this one go on pens? If so, I bloody hope it doesn't, because then we already know the winner and it's so painful to watch the penalties when you know we'll lose. But hopefully Torres starts in this one and scores. The line-up I would like to see Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Alex - Bertrand Romeu Meireles - McEachran Anelka - Torres - Malouda

Mata definitely, we received the three points thanks to him. But Sturridge and Romeu were also very good today.

Terry smh...that was such a stupid yellow. But hey, a win and a clean sheet, what more could you ask for? Torres looked good, as always the case when he comes on as a sub. It's when he starts that he's rubbish.

Great first half, hopefully this win will motivate the team. Drogba and Mata have been very good so far.

Torres should change clubs, because in Chelsea he doesn't have a future.
