Personally i think that with a champions league trophy the club will start promoting more youth and look more long term.

Real Madrid star Pepe is stalling on a new contract because of interest from Chelsea, according to reports in Spain. The central defender is out of contract in 2012 and has been in talks about a new deal at Real Madrid since the turn of the year. But Pepe is now considering his options after hearing about a possible switch to the Premier League champions. It has been reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic wants to see Pepe at Stamford Bridge and could be ready to sanction a deal for the defender. Chelsea would be able to offer him a contract next January and pick him up for free next year. Hi fellow Blues, great win tonight (boy i shit myself in the last 10 minutes). Actully great couple of days infact. We should take our season step by step for the rest of the season IMO. We shouldont let ourself's talk about a late title push just yet. - We should look at consolidating a top 4 place and getting clear of Spuds and Sunderland. - Defo try and win the FA Cup again (Its the oldest and most prestigous domestic knockout competition ill personally love to win it again). - Make a push into the top 3 because if the unthinkable happens and Spuds win the Champions League (gives me shrudders just thinking about it ) 4th place wont be enough. - Go for the Champions League the players really want it this time i think, if we get the 1st Champions League trophy in the bag we should be able to focus more long term. - Consolidate a top 2 place if we can. - Beat Manchester United at Stamford Bridge and THEN maybe we can start thinking about a late push at keeping our title. 1 step at at time is the way to go with our season now me thinks. Roman has no reason to lose intrest. He has invested lots into the team, the academy and new training facilities, if he was going to lose intrest he would have done so long ago, novelty dont last for 7 and a half years. He is worth about 7 billion so that must mean he gets something like 70 million a week on intrest rates alone, yes he will put work into Russia 2018 but mark my words he has got plenty of money to spread around all his buisness's. Thats true from what ive heard we have a lot to thank Yossi for in the Torres transfer. Is it just me or is Carlo trying to replicate his Brazilian trio at Millan? A Luiz, Ramires and Neymar combo would be similar to the Thiago, Kaka and Pato one he had going at Millan.

There have been a few un-official status's on twitter earlier that Conor Clifford might be in the squad tonight. Will be nice to see him make the bench.

Best thing to do is not to expect any one coming in then we cant be disapointed. We do need a bit of depth to our squad to go into the buisness end or we play the young players more, a couple of signing's and players back to full fitness we can ride this season out and have a strong end. Does any-one know when Zhirkov is back?

There is no way in hell that McCarthy would halt McEachran's development infact i see them as a potentially good future midfield partnership should he join. Josh is developing just nicely no need to rush this little gem and with Essien, Mikel, Ramires, Josh and possible McCarthy we will have good options for years to come, even Lamps wants to stick around till he is 40, he will be valuble expierence and if Scholes can still play bit part for Utd i cant see why Lamps cannot do the same with us. This is not even mentioning Conor Clifford. the future without doubt looks bright

£5m + Gallas for Ashely Cole has got to be the greatest transfer ever. 4 years on Gallas got realeased and went on a bosman to Spurs while Cole was the subject of a £30m bid from Real Madrid. Looks like Jose had the hold over Arsene in the transfer market aswell as on the pitch. God i wish i still saw my gooner school/college classmates who during 06-08 were gloating about how they got the better deal.

Benfica are playing hardball on this one and it is likely to be done on the last day if it is. This could go either the Makele way or (god for bid) the Robinho way.

Rodwell, Wilshere and McEachran seems a preety decent midfield trio, with Shelvey a subsitute. Wilshere and Josh will work well together because players of their attributes do, Lampard and Gerrard could easily have worked if ENgland ditched a stricker and played a holding midfielder. Lets hope these "england fans" who have given Terry and Lampard unknown amounts of shit in the past because they played for Chelsea appreciate what a class player Josh is.
